I am looking to participate too in this contest..it is going to be so much fun. This is like a virtual food fest for African and local dishes. See eh, I will not be impressed by any technology until I can download food. For the tech guys around, start to figure out a way to write some codes that will enable humans download food and eat it Grin

Technology is getting really advanced and it would be much more better in the future, I really don't know if it would be possible but I hope to witness it in my time, like how possible would that even be? It got me thinking cause what kind of codes would make it possible for food to be downloaded without going through cooking process, sound like some Abracadabra (magic) I think that would be one of  the greatest invention if they final figure a way to make it realistic in the future. However, on the contrary, that's a lazy man's wish, we know that to some, cooking can be really stressful and fun to others but only people who are lazy to cook would wish for food to be downloaded with code without going through the normal heat process. Well,  I'm really impressed at the foods I've seen so far, I applaud every participants and I've seen that their are lots of chefs here I our local board, so there won't be any need hiring chefs whenever I got an occasion. 🙂

This is a nice initiative Mia Chloe! I saw this thread late but glad the contest is still open for interested participants.

I don't know I will be this good again in cooking because it's been a while actually but this contest made me to discover my forgotten talent  Grin

Today is Sunday and unfortunately, some stores did not open. I couldn't get all the recipes I needed but I managed the available ones and prepared myself a typical Nigerian dish. A strong Tuwo massara (swallow) with Egusi, Ogu leaves and Spinach soup. I don't know the English name for some of these things sef but it taste yummy  Grin

Here is the collection samples of my recipes and the final dish. You can join me for the meal please  Wink

To avoid a long thread, I collage some pictures into one frame. Abeg make nobody salivate here  Grin

In most homes in Nigeria aside jollof rice, rice and chicken stew is what we grew up eating and it is very popular, I mean what is Sunday or Christmas without rice and stew?, It is a privilege to have rice in abundance now in my home because Nigerians and rice are like 5&6 and the good part of it is that we don't just eat it with stew alone, there's rice and ofeaku, rice and veggies, rice and chicken curry sauce. Some even eat rice with egusi soup.

Below are pictures of the cooking process of my rice and chicken stew.

To the extent we Nigerians celebrate a festival called "The New Yam Festival". In this contest i have decided to share how i prepare my favorite Yam porridge from the very beginning to the end. Ingredient listed

Salt
Fresh Pepper
Onion
Palm Oil
