NEWS UPDATE: House of reps orders CBN to halt new cash withdrawal limit

Following the announcement wey CBN make, say dem wan limit the withdrawal of cash to N20,000 daily and N100,000 weeky for individuals and N100,000 daily and N500,000 weekly for organisations wey suppose take place on 9 Jan 2023. The house of reps no gree at all about this recent infoment, and as a result them don order CBN to stop the implementation of this new policy and them don send the CBN governor Godwin Emefiele letter make him appear before the house on 15 December 2022, make him come torchlight about the new policy and tell them why dem go allow am to stand.

we have the numbers but we dos not have the enabled environment for these exchanges. you known the Nigeria govt are not a big fan of cryptocurreny but i hope things changes soon because we deserve to have at least PAXFUL and Binance state office in Nigeria, these two are the most used and have been closer to the government for the past few years now, building building projects. That is true, this cashless policy will lead to the adoption of bitcoin, bet when the cashless flow in all corners bitcoin transaction come dey increase well nd at dat time pipo gede use bitcoin more. But the main problem in Nigeria is not the cashless transaction but as you said production. But production is not also di main problem as of now. But di way and things I take as di main problem na di economy agencies like efcc, icpc, cpc etc are very much weak that di prices of good nd service are not regulated so sellers freely increase price of things on their will... If goods price e dey very low and u get #500 and a cup of rice is #20, then living would be very easy. And u will know what to do with ur little money but because of say things dey cost even u carry #100,000 go market nothing come out, u can only buy very little things.

My posts per week have reduced and it would be a stress on my side if I continue to focus on local board, the reason I only just focus on general boards.

I always prefer to discuss more on bitcoin and economy, like what is happening in Nigeria presently about CBN cashless policy, the current state of bitcoin adoption in Nigeria and the likes. There was even a topic that came my mind few months ago, that why many exchanges are located in Seychelles (a country in Eastern Africa). Huobi Global, OKX, Kucoin, Polonix, DigiFinex and many other exchanges are located in Seychelles, while no recognized one located in Nigeria.

Money printing with higher economic output will not result to inflation. Nigeria has the highest GDP in Africa but if compared to our population, it is low. We can do better than that, but we are not because we depend more on imports. In this modern world, another example are the foreign exchanges we depend on, if there are exchanges in Nigeria, there would be increased employment and more taxes to the government.

Because of the primary reason (low production) that causes inflation, CBN tries other ways to prevent it, like this new cashless policy and credit card monthly international spending which he reduced like 2 years ago from over $3000 monthly or so, to $100 monthly.

Nigeria leaders needs to know that the problem starts from low production that leads to unemployment and reduce economic output.

About money printing. If we focus on spending using online transactions, that means the money printing is online, there is no much differences. But online transactions is not anonymous, which will reduce manipulations from citizens, which can lead to lesser naira devaluation and lesser terrorism financing.

I think is a good strategy, this will actually give the currency value and help the economy sincerely our currency needs revival asper giant of Africa , the policy harsh in a way, because now na to withdraw money keep for house plenty but another matter na thief again, but honestly I love the update, normally I know say the policy no go Favour every body, and the cashless policy to good sha to they carry cash around no be something way make sence to me I tell you.
