Dis won na gud won bcos e bi like sae di Government have it in their mind even though dem neva approve am. But how dem wan do am wey bi sae dem won create jobs from crypto through taxation. Di mata tire me. Onli dis year dem don promise Nigerians on cryptocurrency plenty times but nothing don Happened. Di thing don enta politics.
Naija nai make i jus like dis countri. I tink say na dem ban crypto for the country e no end dear dem even block plenty people fiat bank account wey get any connection to do wit crpto, me sef i be victim of the block. Dem freeze ma bank for no reason during that time of the crypto ban and when i even reach bank to ask why dem talk say na account whey dey transact wit crypto. Now all of a sudden the same government don dey say dem wan train people for blockchain technology as dem don see the plenty moni wey dem get from taxin transaction with crypto ,and so many promises wey we don suppose dey use to by now for dis counkri.  As for politics e no suppose dey new na. na d normal trend for the counkri be dat even flood sef dem tun am to politics dey pack plenty moni wey dem suppose give people wey dey affected

They blamed it on the economic downturn. I cannot say if it the economic downturn of Nigeria or the global economic downturn. But something at the back of my mind is telling me that there is more to this than meet the eyes. They have said that it has no relation with the FTX but I doubt. Did the long bear run affect them? Did they spend too much on BBN sponsorship and other ambassadorial deals? What do you think?
It definitely had nothing to do with their sponsorship of BBN or any other ambassadorial deal they partook in, because in all of such deals i'm pretty sure they accrued quite a lot profit and gained popularity which is always good for business and the exact reason why companies run such deals.

It obviously has to do with the current world economic crisis, and it obviously isn't peculiar to Nigeria as they (Quidax) aren't the only ones laying off their staffs, many businesses around the world are doing the same thing to be able to be productive whilst still making profit in the process, i'm afraid this is a similar situation and there isn't anything else to this, when things get better economically they can hire more staffs again or stay the way they are if they discover themselves to be just as productive all the same.

Thank you very much Brainboss, 5 merits received. You are a man of your words. I no expect say I go take first 4 last month bcoz I saw oda pipo dey post well nd steady. Oga igehhh, I no Kno how I won take tank u. U dey work well. But God go do am 4 u. CryptopreneurBrainboss nai take second 4 di award position, and im no go fit merit imsef so make any charitable user give. We no go just leave am like dat.
Concerning di Political discussion. We cannot remove politics from di group reward. Cryptocurrency also involved Politics to di core. There might be a topic dat which I have created in my early days in di forum "political economy of bitcoin". Politics nd cryptocurrency are moving today. The only thing I will say is dat, we should reduce it and discuss cryptocurrency most. And what igehhh said in his thread is day, 7 political comments will be counted as a monthly stat of a user, and for me dat number is okay.
Make we no forget say most of us have very little or nothing on cryptocurrency, it is as di result of joining dis forum gives us di small knowledge on it, so if u say make we no discuss politics indirectly, most of us will be carved out from contest. I thank everyone for di participation.

Nigerian crypto exchange Quidax lays off 25% of its staff
Did they spend too much on BBN sponsorship and other ambassadorial deals? What do you think?

Misplaced priority, why dem go waste that amount of money dem put for those sponsorship, wetin e do for them abi dem no know say Nigerians typical dey like use foreign things instead of the locals because of the fear of been scammed. No how dem go tell us say dey never broke and make people watch out oh before we get our own Nigeria FTX. If anybody get funds for that exchange den withdraw now or avoid usage for the maintime. See how the storyline they first, first dem go say the bear market no affect them neither did any recent collapse or crash of a popular project wey many other smaller project dey get investment in.

Then the next thing them shutdown withdrawal and before you know na bankruptcy story you go dey hear. How person go just wake up sack him workers when productive dey high and profit dey come in. Dem no get money make dem no dey lie. Anybody wey get their contact make una tell them to come take loan from DarkStar_  oh (lol) before dem go fall our hands.
Abeg CryptopreneurBrainboss Darkstar dey give bailout for country, I wan advice 9ja government make them come take loan to run 2023 election, 😆 lol. Quidax na one local exchange were I dey like use because of the transaction speed but as things dey go like this, every exchange na suspect.
That being said, laying off of staff is mostly due to low revenue or unseen events such like the FTX crash, but for quidax to mentioned that their exchange revenue was not affected by the FTX crash is what I found as an untruthful statement. because even though the FTX situation did not affect their funds directly, it has affected the entire cryptocurrency market and the revenue for all projects have dropped significantly due that so quidax should man up and say the truth to gain users trust going forward but until then baba I don japa from quidax for sometime, abi if quidax run with or hold my deposit I go collect am from Don Jazzy from the money they pay ammm for sponsorship?  Grin Grin Grin

I'd also like to use this medium to inform you all that I'll be updating the General stats on the OP here, and the second stats for the merits award will be posted here as well. I noticed a lot of spamming this week, so I'll be doing a manual post count for the community monthly award to ensure that the quality posters receive the award. On this thread, we need quality rather than quantity.
Unfortunately, I was unable to complete a different set of statistics for the merit award due to time and energy constraints. It has been a busy week for me. We made great strides last month, but we have remained below the 400/week post margin for a long time and hope to surpass it in the future. Overall, activity is high, but post quality is still below average. Please do not include the graduation picture in your comment, as I'm surprised the senior members are still doing the same thing.

The top three posters may not be the best posters overall, but they have the most and deserve to be recognized for keeping this place busy.

onward only 7 political posts will be counted per user for the Merit award

the original OP is here https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.61390946 if you have any observation Pm me.

Sometimes it's not about money; sometimes it's just about getting rid of deadwoods. Twitter had 11,000 employees before Elon bought it; now they have 700, and the service works better than it did before. Facebook did the same thing, not because they were in financial trouble, but because they discovered that quantity is more important than numbers. I'm sure they profited from the BBN sponsorship, so it could be inflation or one of the reasons I mentioned above.

One thing about life na say, we get two opposite sides for any thing wey dey happen here. You see as majority of us see shege for this governments, e get others wey flex am as things been stew for them. Telling those people to vote out APC go hard as na there them dey chop. No go force your candidate on anybody remember say ones we been believe in Buhari but see as e turn out. Make we just hope say anybody wey win go pity us and do things right so the whole Nigeria fit smile small as we dun too surfer.
Omo  no be small suffer my brother things wey people don see for this country no be small, i no dey fit chop sardine again sef cos the way tins don dey somtin 150n dah year don ton 800n. Sha as you talk am na so e be oo, as many people dey hunger and suffer na so some people just dey panya for inside the suffer wey you dey suffer.
Just take for example person wey him people dey show am love well and him people get appointment for the Apc government you no go dey expect the person to come go vote another party wey him no know wetin go sup after.

But one thing wey still dey worry me be say na all this party nonsense wey people dey talk sef . Imagine the election wey happen for my state for last governorship election for bayelsa between David Lyon(apc) and douye dire(pdp) ,for once bayelsan decided to vote another party because of the love wey dem get for the apc candidate and the fact say the ex governor be wan kill people with him followers for their tenur to even pay salary that time na big problem and when election time reach wey the pdp politicians see the love for the apc man na so all of them start to run come enta apc again to continue the ruling and to corrupt this man wey people get for mind.

So the whole thing na just one funny circle

If you sit down for ground calm down look am well u go see say politicians for we country no get Westin oyibo man call"political ideology" at all. Their own na just to the jump jump from one party wey dey on board to another. Even ashawo get small shame pas dis our politicians cos their own be say Dem no wan dey wer oil don dry.
Imagine person way go com publicly talk bad about one political party na that same person go com tommorow still the talk good about same party wey him rubbish about just becos Dem don promise am one appointment or contract. And another tin wey I observed from wetin u talk na be say even the citizens don loss interest for national development and now everybody d follow personal achievements so no body wan talk about areas wey d party wey Dem the benefit from no dey do well. And if we continue like dis, naija go spoil finish but God forbids.
