Weighted companion cube
It should not be needed after miners increase the soft block limit.

I got a few emails from people concerned that their transactions weren’t confirming after an hour or three

In the linked article from the blog:

Therefore, a rational miner should demand at fee of at least $0.0025 per transaction (1 cent / 0.0003 BTC per kilobyte). The current suggested fee-per-kilobyte for the reference implementation is 0.0005 BTC/kb (almost 2 cents).

nastyfans distributions use 0.0005 BTC. The transaction size is 4.5KiB. So we use much less than the Gavin recommendation. nastyfans policy does not discuss tx fees for distributions.

For future distributions I will use the recommendation tx fee from Gavin. For the last distribution this is 0.00219922 BTC instead of 0.0005 BTC.

Are there nodes trying to disrupt Bitcoin network? Or are big miners/pools using new special rules to choose allowed transactions?

Yes:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=150405.0;topicseen

but I don't think so many people are applying this that it really has a affect.

Huh? Satoshi Dice?

... Sure, I suppose they're a major transaction source

(...snip...)

Your choice to block them over any other arbitrary group of transactions, under the false pretense of "avoiding blockchain bloat," is retarded.

(...snip...)

...WTF? ... just no. I'll pass on the censorship:

Yeah, then we can blacklist Silkroad, and then maybe Wikileaks! And at that point we'll finally be the evil we set out to destroy.

There's an official, more long-term solution underway.
(more long-term compared to the censorship and filtering discussed in that thread)

blockchain.info is unavailable right now so I'm posting this week's thingy

Thanks kuzetsa. The SSL configuration for blockchain.info is broken still so links on nastyfans.org do not work. But I guess they fix that soon.

Distribution 224929 needed many hours to be accepted. The transaction propagation time is also very long. It seems many nodes are not propagating some transactions. I also saw this problem with a nastyfans member purchase order. It was a very simple transaction with even large tx fee but needed 3 hours to propagate to my bitcoind. The result was a expired purchase order.

(The transaction has 93 outputs, numbered 0 through 92 so I'm assuming it means 93 fans are accepting donations this week.
...I don't have access to the actual nastyfans database, just able to view the transactions with my own bitcoin client like anyone else
)

Know BFL's thinking they may get some of the first orders out by the end of next week - any word yet to send in the FPGA units?  Also, thought I saw another post somewhere that said you may have the option of doing a deposit and ship the FPGA's back once you get the ASICs.  Just was curious and figured you'll [OgNasty] be the first to know of anyone  Grin

I'm in the very low 1800s order number and no email yet.  Og is before me but not by a separate shipping date (I hope)

UPDATE:
A Motion has been raised to update the terms of our contract to reflect the higher output of our newly ordered ASIC mining equipment.  Please vote.

https://glbse.com/vote/view/78

This Motion passed with over 97% of the //outstanding shares// voting 'Yea' to update the contract to reflect the new ASIC upgrade.

I've requested this update with GLBSE support and we should see it reflected in the contract soon.

That was from like 8-10 months ago (it's like 3 in the morning here, so "8-10 months" is close enough mathing for this hour of the night) ... but like, I just realized something... previously, the majority were "treasury shares" back on GLBSE with no voting power or dividends (distributions of donation in the new nastyfans fanclub thingy) ... who is controlling the votes on these "seats" now that everything is on nastyfans.org? It's very different than the way things were handled previously -- On GLBSE, things were more "normal-like" where a distinction was made between:

  • outstanding shares (regular members / users / shareholders)
  • treasury shares (no voting rights or distributions / dividends)

So what's going on?

As far as I know, OgNasty owns the treasury "seats" (25000-~7000 outstanding=18000) now. He said he will activate donations for them as soon as ASICs arrive.
When I bought my shares at GLBSE I was in the belief, that these shares are "stock", which are sold at a later point in time, to raise money for expansion. As it turned out, I misinterpreted that somehow.

[member opinion] cancel bASIC orders with BTCFPGA
     no: 2650 (10.8%)
     yes: 21867 (89.2%)
     abstain: 145
RESULT: CANCEL bASIC ORDERS WITH BTCFPGA

Note there were only 145 "abstain" votes... and again with this vote:

[unowned seats] lottery for unclaimed seats
     no: 2655 (10.8%)
     yes: 21963 (89.2%)
     abstain: 44
RESULT: HOST A LOTTERY FOR UNOWNED SEATS

that one only had 44 abstains.

...some of you may have noticed that while the difficulty has begun skyrocketing, our donations have barely budged. This is due to me pointing a few of my personal miners at the NASTY MINING pool address (listed in the OP) along with continued donations to the club.

I was wondering how that was being maintained!  Thanks OgNasty!  We appreciate your hard work and generosity!

Wow! Thank you.

I was wondering how the donations could stay so stable, too.

That's much appreciated.

...some of you may have noticed that while the difficulty has begun skyrocketing, our donations have barely budged. This is due to me pointing a few of my personal miners at the NASTY MINING pool address (listed in the OP) along with continued donations to the club.

I was wondering how that was being maintained!  Thanks OgNasty!  We appreciate your hard work and generosity!

Our bASIC orders are pending a refund so that is where you guys (gals?) are getting different numbers. What happens there is anyone's guess.

Also, it may appear that I'm sitting on my thumbs with regards to NASTY MINING but there are 2 separate projects being worked on by nonnakip and myself that will take both NASTY MINING & NastyFans to the next level. In addition to those as of now top secret plans, some of you may have noticed that while the difficulty has begun skyrocketing, our donations have barely budged. This is due to me pointing a few of my personal miners at the NASTY MINING pool address (listed in the OP) along with continued donations to the club. Hopefully my generosity is appreciated while we all deal with the excruciating wait for NASTY MINING to become an ASIC powerhouse. I suspect that the next few months will bring us all lots of excitement and even more fun in ways that aren't currently being anticipated.

@Yogafan00000 -- The ASICs we have ordered are 60GH/s each. How did you come up with your total of 750?

@Yogafan00000 -- I don't think you did the math right:

Currently, we have an estimated 29.76MH/s in ASICs ordered per seat (including mine).  That is roughly a 3,000% increase over today's MH/s per seat.  I have also started brainstorming a plan to increase our...

My math is right, you are using information that is out of date!

I did 25,000 x ~30MH/s = 750GH/s, but I'll forgive you because I'm wrong about the $40.  It's now $46! So we will all be even moar rich!  Shocked

When the 750Gh/s from BFL comes online NastyFans will be mining 65BTC per day!

You mean NASTY MINING will be mining many BTC per day. nastyfans does not mine.

At $40 a piece, we are all going to be rich!  Shocked

If the fanclub receives many donations we may be rich. Either way I will dance in the street when OgNasty finally gets the Singles. Then things get really fun.

EQUIPMENT ORDERED:
10x BitForce Single 'SC' 60GH/s
2x BTCFPGA bASIC 72GH/s - refund pending

@Yogafan00000 -- I don't think you did the math right:

10 x 60 = 600

EDIT: I just confirmed, it looks like 60GH/s is still the currently stated "design specs"
