That is the BTC21,000,000 question.

Not being a miner (that is why I have NASTY Wink ) I don't really know... when are we expected to get our BFL ASICs?

With the vouchers that will be issued, are we planning on purchasing additional units and if so do we need any fundraising to support (should we raise a motion to allocate a percent of donations toward these)?

I was hoping we'd be able to use funds from our bASIC orders to fund more BFL purchases.  Optimism about bASIC refunds is fading.  Is diverting donations something other NastyFans want to explore?

Thank you!

I use Multibit on this laptop.  I know it didn't show up on blockexplorer for a long time so I figured it was something to do with my side, but really didn't even know where to look.  Usually don't have this issue so not sure what happened yesterday.

Not sure if this is the right place ot post, but I tried buying at auction and it took a long time for the block to transfer (over an hour) - http://blockexplorer.com/tx/ff44b2829e8c4759d1449dc96bb51db747eccf01b31625bdfde8634d12b64be0.

Yes this is a good place to post. The problem is your Bitcoin client or service. It waited 1 hour 12 minutes to post the transaction to the Bitcoin network. Or you waited 1 hour 12 minutes to send the Bitcoin.

What Bitcoin client or service do you use? Maybe you can share what happened on your side?

However, the purchase expired.  Is the money gone now?

Bitcoin does not disappear. The Bitcoin transferred to the nastyfans account. The purchase order expired because 7 blocks pass without the transaction on the network (0 confirmations). But I now manually restart the purchase order and now it is complete.

I can no longer access the account I use as the password no longer works and there is no way to recover it. Thanks for nothing.

I assume you talk to me. Your tone stinks.

You sold all your seats.

No seats = non-member.

Non-member accounts terminated after 24 hours.

Thank you for playing.

It would have been better to receive an email or some other notification. It might also prod some people into acting before you you take action on their behalf.

For instance a notification to log in before your account gets suspended would be a good feature.

[unowned seats] lottery for unclaimed seats
     no: 2655 (10.8%)
     yes: 21963 (89.2%)
     abstain: 44
RESULT: HOST A LOTTERY FOR UNOWNED SEATS
Didn't this already happen?

Yes. The lottery happened when the yes votes were above 75%. But because 1,344 seats did never vote the poll does not close for 30 days after start. Now the poll is closed and the 1,344 seats automatically vote no and I post final results here.

A new username will have to be created? They can not re-use the same username from a deleted account?
Not sure why the user name would matter much anyway on a site like NF.org. Apart from the public list that is.

It's likely unavoidable: http://ha.ckers.org/blog/20080305/username-based-primary-key-issues/

There are a few ways to design around such limitations... but the current system is probably easier to maintain, easier to debug, easier to secure, and was faster to design in the first place.

(it's good to have something available NOW instead of still waiting for a 3rd party ... several non-nastyfans people were burnt by the GLBSE closure, yet still have no remedy)

Anyone can create a new account and become a member (again). If keeping a username is so important then the member should keep at least 1 seat.

So, if a member sells all seats, after 24 hours that user account is locked, deleted, etc.

But the same user can't log back in to buy seats again after the 24 hour period? A new username will have to be created? They can not re-use the same username from a deleted account?

Correct.

I have no interest in maintaining non-member accounts. nastyfans is not a playground for non-members. It exists for members. This is why non-member accounts are terminated after 24 hours.

Usernames of previous terminated accounts can not be used again. The reason for this is because it is possible for someone else to re-activate a terminated account. This makes my job more complicated because the old activity and voting records do not apply for the new user because it is someone else now. If I need to investigate a member it is much easier to know that all previous activity records for that username belong to that member. I do not want to check if maybe the account was terminated and re-created at some point. And then I still do not know if the new user with the username is the same user as the old user. This is why a username can only exist once. Even if it never becomes a member.

I think increasing the timeframe for termination from 24 hours to a week or so would be reasonable...

The only reason non-member accounts exist is so users have a time window to become a member. I think 24 hours is enough time for this.

Some people might sell all their seats, but plan to buy some back after a day or so.
