I develop a proxy for NastyPool P2Pool node. The proxy will protect the P2Pool node against DOS attacks. Now I do tests. For my cgminer it looks good. But maybe other people can help test also?

To test the proxy change your miner to connect to port 9334 instead of 9332. Your miner should not notice any difference. If you do have any problems please report them and change your miner back to port 9332 until the problems are solved.

They are great coins.  I have two and love them.
The tip jar address is a cool idea too.

am thinking of getting one... might use the address for a public tip jar, too... anything else where I might get some surprise income that I wasn't planning on getting...

I recently received my Nasty Mining silver coin. It is beautiful. Thank you very much.

But I am really at a loss as to what it can do for me. Do I mine to the address of the coin? If so, how do I spend or transfer Bitcoin credited to the coin? Etc.?

I really do not know or understand these things at the moment.

Thanks again.

To elaborate on what OgNasty explained, the purpose of the coin is to serve as a long term investment and "cold storage" vehicle. Any donations from nasty fans will go to the coin automatically, increasing its value over time. You can send more bitcoins there, but they should be coins you are prepared to keep untouched ("in cold storage") for the long term.

You're welcome.  You can mine to the address of the coin if you want, or you can wait for it to receive BTC distributions on it's own.  You spend funds on the address by peeling off the hologram and redeeming the private key that is engraved underneath.  Once you peel the hologram, it cannot be put back on, so I recommend you keep it in tact to maintain it's value.

Just 1 question... If you are going to use 50% of the $5000 USD worth of shares to the lottery winner, why didn't you just transfer ~ $2,500 and do 100% of that to the lottery winner.. Is there a plan for the other 50% or is that just yours?  (Just trying to see if there's anything else up your sleeves! lol)

50% of the BTC held at that address will be distributed weekly.  This is to cut down on volatility and ensure that even if no block is found by P2Pool, there will still be a lottery distribution.

Right, I understood that much.. I was just wondering about the other 50% that isn't distributed weekly to the lottery winner..

50% of that will be donated to the next week's winner.  The entire BTC amount at the address will get cut in half every week.  I don't think it will result in any sort of funds building up and will only reduce volatility.

Either way, thanks again! (Now I just need to get some lottery tickets and then win!)

Awesome OgNasty.  You are making strides where others do not.  I really like how you keep leading the way.

What made you decide to do this?

I want NastyPool to be the best.  The synergies available with our different services allow us to offer exclusive benefits that can't be matched elsewhere.  I don't mind leading by example on how to unlock those benefits.  The address temporarily being used to gather lottery donations is 1NastyPXmduDcoay5aEZzih7fzqt8UzXRK for anyone interested.

I have transferred ~$5,000 worth of NastyFans seats to a separate account and am donating the distributions from those seats to an address that has been setup for NastyPool.  The current plan is to have 50% of the BTC at that address distributed to the weekly NastyPool lottery winner on an ongoing basis as a way to provide greater than 100% mining payouts to our miners.  No word on when the mining lottery will begin, but you can earn tickets now by mining on nastyfans.org:9332 and using your Bitcoin address as your username.
That's awesome - thank you.

My S1s will work on p2pool pretty well. My S2 gets no more than about 700GH/s from the interface and pool-side instead of 998GH/s anywhere else.

Mine does OK.  I have one running and with the rise in hashing power I am currently getting ~0.003 per block found. So, today I made about 0.015 btc.

S2 and S3 do not work on P2Pool AFAIK.

I like the lottery idea.

FYI, P2Pool found 5 blocks in a 24 hour span and broke 1 PH/s briefly.

That's very generous of you OgNasty. I think more people should start to mine it. I'm still waiting on my hardware (Black Arrow Sad ) so any year now I might be able to help out..
