Lots of trees down and power outages. I was very fortunate and made out ok. There are still thousands without power but I'm not one of them. Our single under my control is up and mining as of an hour or so. Next time I'll be more prepared with back up power and will be potentially able to mine through a power grid outage.  We had plenty of winter storms that affected others but not us because I am so close to power stations. A lot of big trees were uprooted in an area where natural disasters and high winds are very rare.  Wind, solar and generator back up are going to be installed here soon.
Glad you made out alright.. We just had a thunderstorm last night knock out the power and take a number of trees down.  My power came back up aroun 1am but my internetprovider was down until sometime this morning so the single I'm running was down for a number of hours last night.

Hey folks,  I've been hit by hurricane Arthur. No power for the next few days. I'll update as soon as I'm back up and running our single.
Hope everyone's ok there and you don't have too much damage!

Is 176.28.50.57 static? Since Nastyfans.org is working again should I re-configure my miners back to that our keep the current settings?

Yes, that IP is static.  While it may change at some point in the future, there are no plans to do so currently and it would definitely be announced beforehand.

...Profit is still profit... coin value itself could have easily gone down too...

If Bitcoin value has gone down, you wouldn't get higher divs.  And nothing, not even hoarding, hurts Bitcoin as much as supporting obvious scams.  Thanks for making Bitcoiners look like clueless, bumbling rubes who don't even know when they're being duped.
Guys, guys guys...

Your problem is that you still see Bitcoin as if it was a currency. It isn't... it is a commodity, which is easily bartered and can be used as payment for goods, but at its heart, it is a commodity.

Everything is priced based on their real-world cost, and the current commodity value of Bitcoin, so you know how much bitcoin to exchange. I know of no good or service, anywhere, that isn't pegged to real-world value, and where the cost of the item is strictly in Bitcoin with no regard for the real-world value of the item.

All I care about at the end of the day, is my real-world balance higher? And yes, it is.

Guys guys guys,

Your problem is you are fucking retarded in that piece of shit you call brain.

...

Lol, OK, a commodity.  You give this d00d 10 barrels of oil, and get back one.  Profit!

But it's becoming obvious that I'm intruding on some creepy SnM/humiliation/degradation fetish played out between consenting adults.  Like a battered housewife, you'll defend your abuser with blood still dripping out of your broken nose.  Different strokes, I guess Undecided
I should learn to be more accepting.

CONGRATULATIONS FORUM INVESTORS! ONLY 65% LOSS IN BTC.

Beats my investments in silver & the S&P 500.   Wink

Bitcoin 2-year performance: 9,812.2%
Nasty Mining 2-year performance*: 1,341.5%
S&P 500 2-year performance*: 45.7%
Silver 2-year performance: -31.5%

*excludes distributions
They are only willing to see actual BTC amounts, not real-world value... in local currencies, it has definitely been profitable.

If you're looking at the real-world money that was spent, and your real-world return? Since that's what everyone's living expenses are in? Not too shabby.

=squeak=

Not too shabby? Would have been more profitable to do nothing. I say shabby it is.
Profit is still profit... coin value itself could have easily gone down too... some of us make investments and spend, others of us just hoard...

Hoarders don't help the bitcoin economy, spenders do... and those of us spending on mining hardware, invest in the health of the network long term, as we believe in it.

A worthwhile investment in my book. If it weren't for people like us, people like you would have no profits whatsoever.

LOL! Thank you for your losses.
