They are only willing to see actual BTC amounts, not real-world value... in local currencies, it has definitely been profitable.

If you're looking at the real-world money that was spent, and your real-world return? Since that's what everyone's living expenses are in? Not too shabby.

=squeak=

Not too shabby? Would have been more profitable to do nothing. I say shabby it is.
Profit is still profit... coin value itself could have easily gone down too... some of us make investments and spend, others of us just hoard...

Hoarders don't help the bitcoin economy, spenders do... and those of us spending on mining hardware, invest in the health of the network long term, as we believe in it.

A worthwhile investment in my book. If it weren't for people like us, people like you would have no profits whatsoever.

Here's the official response from Domains4Bitcoins.com regarding the downtime for NastyFans.org.

Quote from: Domains4Bitcoins.com
Hi there,

Thank you for contacting Domains 4 Bitcoins Support.

We had a issue this weekend with "Angler Exploit" using our DNS servers.  As a result we have switched name servers temporarily until we can resolve this issue with our Administrators.  We will update you once we get a update from them and will find out what can be done to avoid this issue going forward.

Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Thank you,

Domains 4 Bitcoins Support

That's the monthly average?

Yes, that is the monthly average as it is seen from our pool readings.  You can add 3TH/s to NastyMining to account for our cloud mining if you'd like.  Wink

Is that with the BFL gear hashing also?
I hope not - we should have more than that even though the BFL 3 TH/s hasn't been going for very long..

I'll be available to host a live chat tomorrow at 1:00pm PST to discuss all things Nasty.  I'll also be posting the monthly stats and historical quarterly data for the last 2 years as it becomes available.

What IP address should it be resolving to?

176.28.50.57

Feel free to use https://176.28.50.57 for the time being instead of nastyfans.org if you are uncomfortable with changing your DNS for the nastyfans.bit site.

176.28.50.57:9332  <---  Miners can point here until domains4bitcoins.com gets their DNS issues resolved.  My apologies for taking so long to relay this information.

Ran home to try this.. it worked.  We are back online.

There is most definitely a problem with the DNS hosting currently.

Based on a whois lookup, nastyfans.org authoritative DNS servers are NS1/2/3/4.DOMAINS4BITCOINS.COM.

NS[1-4].DOMAINS4BITCOINS.COM are themselves not currently resolvable.

It appears that the DNS provider does not even have their own DNS currently working. If it is working for some people, I suspect that there is some caching going on somewhere. 99% of the world probably cannot resolve this domain right now and won't be able to until those nameservers come back online.

It must be down...I can no longer reach it either.

Still no response from the Domain provider.  It is working for me and a few others, but I'm continuing to search for ways to resolve the issue.

Worth noting...  We do have procedures in place to account for the loss of a DNS entry.  For those of you familiar with .bit sites, we do own nastyfans.bit and you are able to view and use the site by using a .bit friendly DNS service.

Below are instructions on how to configure your DNS to work with .bit sites.
