I also found out about Nastyfans through a signature link.

I like the idea so long as nothing about the campaign encourages people to post inane garbage for no reason other than to get their post count up.

howdy
I don't consider sig campaigns to be spam, although as a personal opinion I find the ones with huge fonts, bright colors, etc. to be somewhat more annoying and create a more negative impression of the advertiser. Simple informative text about something that might interest me is more likely to be received by me as useful information on which I might act.

I remember back when the forum had a different URL and was clutterfusted with annoying signature images and GIF's. I don't mind the text signature ads today but I did find out about nastyfans through a signature link. I say go for it!

This would be advertising for the pool? or nastyfans seats? or .....

I'm curious about fans opinion on a signature campaign for these forums.  It would advertise everything you see in my signature (minus my public address).  I want to know if that is a good way to spread the word or annoying spam.

They still have a limit on people with signatures and the number of posts I think. Not sure how many posts or access level you need to be able to do the larger sigs.

I guess what is the focus of it though...selling seats or mining on the pool?

The focus would be awareness.  You never know how someone might stumble across NastyFans and become interested in helping the project.  The recent creation of http://nastyfans.uberbills.com is a great example of benefits that 3rd party developers could provide for us.  There are quite a few automated references available below that could be used by developers to display all sorts of statistics or build fun tools.

I do not think it is spam in any way...signature campaigns are the norm on these boards.  I guess what is the focus of it though...selling seats or mining on the pool?

I'd like to see an opinion poll on whether it is a good idea to offer a signature advertising campaign on these forums.  I figure it would be a good way to help get the word out, even if just for a short time, but don't want to do anything that might reflect negatively against NastyFans.

OgNasty, can you give me some details how this works? How much does it cost for how long? Who would pay that? Who would design advertisement? Does that have costs and who would pay them?

I think it is important to include this information in the poll so members can make a educated vote.

I wasn't proposing any specifics or asking to use any funds.  I want to know if NastyFans would view a signature campaign as a positive way to get the word out, or an annoyance to forum members.  A third poll option could be that more information is needed to make an educated decision.  It has also been some time since nastyfans.org has seen a poll, and I think it would be fun.

I was about to ask the same thing, but I understand now that you were just asking or a or a campaign in itsself would be a good idea. I would like to see a poll for this, and I would support that poll Smiley

Distribution 310297 is complete. Thank you donators.

With this distribution the first minted seats pass payout threshold of 0.001 BTC.

I realize this is old news now, but I just wanted to say this made me very happy. I love my NastyFans coins, and it's even better now that they have BTC on them. This is such a fun idea!

I don't think anyone made as big of a deal about this distribution as it should have been.  Smiley   It was really a huge moment for NastyFans coins.  Great to see so many coins funded, and awesome that naypalm has been giving http://nastyfans.uberbills.com facelifts.  Just this morning I added a link to the NastyFans Coin Analyzer in the iOS app and submitted it to Apple for approval.

BFL's latest update:

Quote
July 13th Engineering Monarch Update

The new prototype board that we simulated will get us to the 1TH performance level has been delayed into this coming week by our PCB supplier. We continue to work closely with them and expect the new prototype will be ready towards the latter part of the week. BFL staff will be on location at the board manufacturer so we can literally start testing as soon as the first prototype’s last component goes on.

We do have some good engineering news to report this week as well. We can confirm that our most current prototype board version, at 700GH, has continued to perform under rigorous testing. We are due for delivery of production quantities of these boards by the end of this month.

The earlier version boards that perform in the 350-500 GH range are now being produced in quantity. As these boards are assembled they are rigged up in racks and shipped to our cloud mining facility to provide temporary cloud mining to customers in queue priority (we shipped 100 TH of these this week).

We are evaluating our refund policy and will announce details about improvements this coming week, along with new prototype test results as we get them.

I think any promotion is good at this point.
The more we can get people to notice it the better.
There are no real negatives to NastyPool and NastyMining.  As people learn they will join.
I'm in agreement
