Update from BFL.  Hopefully next week we'll see some hashes.

Quote from: BFL_Josh  , 06-17-2014 at 11:03 PM
We had a meeting today with the BFL Cloud Mining team. We are still on schedule to start roll out of that by Friday (Hopefully sooner). We don't know yet exactly how many people we can activate each day as of yet, but we will be activating as many people as possible each day. We will be sending out an email when your Cloud Mining account is ready and a button should appear in your dashboard to activate it. You will then be able to log in to the Cloud Mining dashboard and enter the pool information or wallet address you would like to mine to. Be on the look out for that.

Right now, the plan is to allocate 600 GH/s to each user for each card ordered. If you ordered 1 card, you'll get 600 GH/s, if you ordered 2 cards, 1.2 TH/s, etc... The current plan is to process the Cloud Mining in the queue order from first to last. Again, we don't currently know how long it will take to deploy this fully or how many people will be activated per day, however, as we receive the revised boards and they are tested and ready to go, we will start shipping out in queue order, first to last. As your order is fulfilled, your Cloud Mining will be deactivated and the hashrate will be allocated to the next person in line.

I will post another update when we start activating users on Cloud Mining.

Thanks for posting this, looking forward to the hashing power!!   Grin

Does it help NastyFans in any manner when one mines the NastyPool?

Yes.  It helps to pay nastyfans.org server costs.  While we charge 0% fees to miners, we also use merged mining to generate altcoins for server costs (and hopefully one day regular lottery prizes).  Merged mining is extremely popular these days though, so you need quite a bit of hashrate to mine any altcoins due to the solo-mining nature of merged mining.

If so, is there is any difference versus mining as a member or non-member?

Currently, there is no benefit to mining as a "member."  We had the recent contest where you had to be a member in order to enter, but that was the first time there was a benefit.  Even non-members have their mining information tracked by their Bitcoin address and should they choose to become a member and register their address at nastyfans.org down the line, they will get lottery tickets for their accepted P2Pool shares.

If mining as a member, must the address being mined to be registered with NastyFans?

There isn't really a way to mine "as a member" at the moment.  You can use your nastyfans.org username to link your hashes to your member account for tracking purposes, but that was only beneficial during the lottery period.  Any hashes submitted using anything other than a Bitcoin address as a username are donated to the NastyFans address and not the miner.

If you mine on NastyPools, I think in the future there is more gain for NastyFans seats

judging by my earnings, you could expect about 0.054 BTC every 21 hours at the current difficulty and P2Pool network hashrate.

seems somewhat high. for 1T/Hs.

My local node is showing 1.59TH/s and a 0.09282754 BTC payout with an expected round time of 28 hours.  I made a mistake earlier and looked at the expected time to block instead of the expected round time.  1TH/s could expect 0.058 BTC every ~28 hours currently.

how do you bust a block when your pool only shows 500+ GH as the pool speed?[/li][/list]

The entire P2Pool network finds blocks together.  That's part of the decentralized beauty.  The P2Pool network is currently ~640TH/s.

If i where to stand up a server and load the P2Pool software on it would it be associated with your pool?

Only in that we are working together with the entire P2Pool network to solve blocks and share rewards.

currently I mine with Eclipse and I get paid out roughly every 12 hours with the settings that I have if so lets say I point 1 TH at your pool
how long do you think it would take to get paid .02 btc out?

I'm still a bit cloudy on how P2Pool ramps your payouts up to fight pool hoppers, but I can tell you that once you got up to speed (takes maybe 2-3 days?), judging by my earnings, you could expect about 0.054 BTC every 21 28 hours at the current difficulty and P2Pool network hashrate.

if i stood up my own pool server would it pay out every 12 to 24 hours just like your pool? assuming i am understanding the concept of P2Pool

It would pay out whenever P2Pool found a block.  Currently that is estimated at every 21.2 hours.

Currently, miners are paid out each time P2Pool solves a block.  This typically ranges from 12-36 hours depending on the hashrate of the P2Pool network.  We are looking into implementing a PPS payment system that will steady payments for those who aren't comfortable with variance.  That way you can see your earnings and feel comfortable during long P2Pool rounds.  It may also be worth noting that P2Pool is slow to start paying out new miners (to fight pool jumpers), so please give it a few days for your payments to normalize before getting frustrated.  The plus side is that you typically continue getting payments for a day or so after you stop mining on the pool, so it balances out.
    Please don't do that...

If people who can't cope with variance want PPS instead, there are plenty of other pools for them to choose from. We know this is a P2Pool group... lets just keep it strictly P2Pool.

    =squeak=

While we are going to continue to develop NastyPool and assimilate it into nastyfans.org, the focus of the development is to build on the back of P2Pool.  That will allow us to run as close to a default P2Pool node as possible, so that miners always have the option of using NastyPool as a standard P2Pool node.  However, for those who do want fancy features and fun incentives, we are going to make that option available as well.

Does adding hash power to this pool change things for you (for example I point my miners at the pool)

It helps a little.  We use altcoins from merged mining to pay our server costs and keep the pool/website running with 0% fees.  Merged mining has become so popular that we rarely see any altcoins though.  Hopefully that changes as we grow and we are able to generate an excess of altcoins that can be used for cool incentive programs like the lottery.

How often do miners get paid out?

I don't quite understand the P2Pool concept and how it differs from other mining pools... can someone explain?

THIS explains it better than I ever could.  The simple explanation from me would be that it is a decentralized pool that works on open source software.  Which means there isn't 1 person in charge of the pool potentially using miner's hashrate maliciously.  Sort of like how Bitcoin works in contrast to Mastercard.

If I point my miners to the pool will I need to purchase a seat at some point? I ask because the website says I need to within 30 days or my account will be deleted...

It is not a requirement for you to be a NastyFan in order to use NastyPool.  Anyone can mine with us, so long as you use your Bitcoin address as your username.  However, if you want credit for the P2Pool shares that will eventually be used in a lottery incentive program, you will need to have at least 1 NastyFans seat (and eventually you will have to sign the Bitcoin address you are using as your username on the pool, so that we can properly credit your account when the lottery incentive program goes live).  It is correct that if no seat is purchased after 30 days of signing up, your account is considered inactive and is removed (we only want to track signups for active users).

what do you get if you win the lottery? and how often is the lottery run?

Right now we run lotteries whenever we feel it might be fun.  Celebrating a 2-year anniversary currently fit that bill.  I am still in discussions with nonnakip about the details of an ongoing lottery.  We originally thought this would be a great way to pay out our altcoins that are merge mined, but there are other things we may be able to offer as well.  Basically, the more popular the pool, the better the lottery will be.  At this time we aren't generating enough additional altcoins to offer much of anything, which is why this last lottery prize was supplied by myself personally to try and bring some awareness to NastyPool as we begin working towards rolling out new and exclusive pool features.

is this pool run on a server or someones home PC? (sorry have to ask)

It is run on a dedicated server.

Im sure I will have more questions but this is a good start.

I love questions.  Keep 'em coming.

It appears to me that to mine Nasty Mining, one must be a Nasty Fans member. Is that correct?

No.  Anyone can mine on NastyPool.  You just need to point your miner at nastyfans.org:9332 and use your Bitcoin address as your username to receive payouts.

If a member, and one is mining Nasty Mining, are all mined rewards paid out to the member or are some automatically retained by Nasty Mining and/or NastyFans?

If you are using a Bitcoin address as your username, 100% of mined bitcoins are paid out to you.

Is mining at the Nasty Mining P2P node same as mining at any other P2P node other than the added benefits of the NastyFans relationship?

No.  Mining on NastyPool (our p2pool node) will track the number of accepted p2pool shares and display this information on the mining tab of nastyfans.org when you log in and select your address.  These accepted p2pool shares will act as lottery tickets for a future incentive program.  There are other benefits that are coming down the line, but for now the lotto tickets and p2pool accepted share counter at nastyfans.org are the benefits to using our node.

I have to say the past two years have been a great experience and I'm happy with both the performance as well as community of NastyFans today.  Plenty of other groups out there with incredible amounts of drama along with shady business practices.   One of the reasons I'm invested with Nasty is because there's a sound community here, even the approach to the troll here by the community was good - it's been great so far and I'm eager to see where the next two years take us!   You all rock, and I'm glad to be a part of the NastyFan community :-D

Dude you created an account just to come here and troll, at least have the decency not to hide your real account. Our little section of Bitcoin is doing just fine, OgNasty is one of the most upstanding members of the Bitcoin community. To come here and claim he is running some type of scam is ridiculous. You seem to have already climbed back into your hole, please stay there.

If I win or buy a minted seat am I able to have all my other seats pay directly to the coin??

You can use the coin's public address to receive donations by setting it on your nastyfans.org account settings. EDIT: Just be aware that you would have to break the hologram to spend coins out of the private key.
