If Pacers will push the win I agree that it can be a double digit lead seems that bookies favoring a bit the homecourt advantage of Detroit but comparing how these two team played the game  Pacers is more superior than Detriot not unless there's something that bookies are seeing to give this kind of a close margins, no spare for now but I like the handicap for Pacers. Good luck!
They didn’t get a double-digit win, but they covered the spread - barely. The spread was -5.5, and they took it by 6. That 4th quarter was huge; they outscored Detroit by double digits. Glad they made that run in the end, giving bettors a nice profit.

What do you think about tomorrow’s bets? Dallas is -8 against the young Spurs, even without Luka, who's still not back from his injury. Seems like a weird line to me. I’m leaning towards taking the Spurs moneyline and just hoping Klay has an off night with his shooting.

They still have the homecourt advantage, so -6.5 is a good bet for me already at 1.75. Even without Luka, I think the Mavs can do it and win big against the young Spurs. If Klay is going to play, maybe this is the perfect time for him to show that he still has it.

Other games that fans wanted to see even without betting is Nuggets vs OKC. For me this could be very close, although again, maybe the home court will be a big advantage for Denver but I'm seeing SGA putting a show here and maybe there could be some upset.

I call it a trap. There’s definitely a reason that line’s set like that...it’s baiting people to take the Spurs. If it were me, I'd either stay away from that game completely or bet on Dallas and just hope for the best. But honestly, I’m more excited for some of the other matchups tomorrow. Got my eyes on two:

Denver -2 against OKC
Kings +1.5 against Timberwolves

Why these 2?  because I believe on the first week of the season, home teams will have a good winning percentage.

Heat lost against the Magic, Bam and Jimmy's stats aren't impressive.
I lost my bet on that one too. I had the home team covering that low spread, but they ended up getting blown out by the Magic.

Quote
GSW won.

They carried that momentum right into the regular season, and it ended with a 35-point victory with contributions from everyone. Buddy Hield was the leading scorer with 22 points, and he only played 15 minutes- talk about being impressive.

Quote
Whilst, Clippers and the Suns are on game now and they're at OT after ending Q4 in 103-103. KD got it.

That was an epic matchup, especially with Harden carrying the team in the second half. The OT was the Suns' only chance to cover the spread, but they ended up winning by just 3 points. If Booker hadn't fouled out, they might have been able to dominate the Clippers in OT.

I haven’t dipped my toe in the gambling pool yet for this NBA season, but I somewhat regret not betting on the Celtics yesterday.
You may have missed that betting on Celtics yesterday, they'll be playing against the Washington Wizards next.

I guess that's a good match for them to win again if you want to bet on them. But it's still the opening season and most of these games aren't that important to them.

I decided to throw a little something down on a parlay.  I wanted to add the Bucks to win for a fourth game on the multi-bet, but the 76ers look like they're off to a good start so I chickened out and removed them.  We'll see if I'm able to get myself a W for the first bet of the year.

Miami Heat - Orlando Magic
Winner (Incl. Overtime)
Miami Heat

Los Angeles Clippers - Phoenix Suns
Winner (Incl. Overtime)
Phoenix Suns

Portland Trail Blazers - Golden State Warriors
Winner (Incl. Overtime)
Golden State Warriors

Odds: 3.18

I got unlucky yesterday as the Lakers bet the Wolves  Sad

Suns vs Clippers - Live betting as I have Suns -3.5 at 170. Odds are changing fast, it used to be 1.8x but the Suns has scored a basketball that's why it went to 1.70.

Let's see, hopefully I will get my first win here,  Smiley

I got handed a big fat L for my first bet of the year. Jimmy Butler went for 3 points on 1 of 8 shooting. What the heck was that? He allowed the Magic to destroy my parlay.

Durant and Beal are looking good after one quarter for the Suns. Glad to see Beal getting some action. He was a pretty big disappointment for me last season.

Hello guys, we are back here. Cheesy Let's have a fun season.

A lot of games started so early and I forgot to place my bets last night (in my timeline). Well, here are my picks for today's games that will start later.

Portland Trail Blazers - Golden State Warriors - Golden State Warriors (-5.5)
Los Angeles Clippers - Phoenix Suns - Phoenix Suns (-2.5)

The Warriors are in the hype during the pre-season and I think Buddy Hield is such a great addition to their team, I just hope there are no rattling moments in this season for him. He is a good player and I think he will be better with the Warriors type of plays.

It took me some time to make the posts, I literally forgot how I did it last season. Cheesy Good luck with your bets everyone.

I haven’t dipped my toe in the gambling pool yet for this NBA season, but I somewhat regret not betting on the Celtics yesterday. I may also regret not betting on the Suns today but I likely won’t have the opportunity to do so. I will however be watching and hoping this may be the year the Suns get it together and make a run for the Finals. If not this year, I think their opportunity slipped away with DeAndre Ayton.

Detroit will host the Pacers, we all know how bad Detroit was from last season, and the Pacers had one of their best, so with that, I might go with the Pacers at -3.5 at 1.82 odds.

I agree with it, they were a bad team last season, and I do like the pick. However, in my book, it's at -4.5 now with 1.92 odds. From what we’ve seen in the first two games, the winning team usually wins by a big margin, so I think they can cover the spread. The Pacers are strong and score a lot, so if they dominate, a double-digit win seems pretty likely. Good luck, I’m tailing too but with a higher spread.

@stadus - might be better to update the title of the thread, as we are in the 2024-2025 season already.

As for those who bet on the Wolves to bet the Lakers, totally different outcome as the Lakers comes strong in the first quarter and hold on that lead for good.

First quarter between the Lakers and the Wolves.

Lakers is leading 19-15 and so I did take that live betting on the Wolves as they are being at 2.20.

So let's see if they can pull a big opening win against Lebron and AD, it might be close though, but I still banking on Edwards to make a huge game against Lebron as I do not see anyone that can guard him.

That's a good start for the Lakers, especially since losing a home opener would've been pretty embarrassing. The Wolves don’t seem like the same team with KAT, or maybe it’s just me. It’s only the first game, and they still have time to adjust. I forgot to bet on that game, but tomorrow I'll make sure to drop my prediction here.

Also, the Celtics made 29 three-pointers in that game. Does that tie the Milwaukee Bucks for the most three-pointers made in a single game in NBA history?

Well well, good thing I chose not to put my hope onto the Wolfes. I am actually surprised how bad they looked. Edwards with a terrible off night despite 27 points. But shooting 10/25 with 5 turnovers is not what you are looking for from your go 2 guy. Also he didn't get ANY help today with the next best scorer having only 16 points.
Off to the next one for them, can only get better from here. Lakers starting solid is not what I expected and they managed to get this one even though they also kind of had an off night, shooting wise. How you can beat the Wolfes despite shooting 5/30 from 3 looks crazy actually but Davis made the difference today.
Oh and Bronny, well he and his dad have to wait for the first points and the father's assist I guess.  Grin

My Bronny season bet didn't start well with 0 points but actually I didn't expect any playing time today and he got 3 min, so I will go from here as well.

Who is playing the Timberwolfes tonight? I am surprised they basically have even odds facing the Lakers. Sure they lost their 3 preseason games but that doesn't really say anything. On paper they are definitely the better team and you want to start strong if you want to be a contender.
Maybe we can see some minutes from Bronny James if there is garbage time in the 4th quarter. Weeks ago I played a little bet on his season stats. I made a bet that he will make +82.5 points for the season. Also I just need over 5.5 3s from him for the season to win a bet. That doesn't seem too far fetched doesn't it?  Grin

I'm all over the Wolves tonight.  Everyone overbets the Lakers, yankees and cowboys in the beginning of the year.  Deep value going against them early on.

Bronny hitting one 3 pointer this year woukd shock me to be honest.  That under is gonna bang.  Also taking the under on his points.  I had it in the mid 70s though.  He is going to collect a lot of minutes in the g league.

Yeah, I think it's very easy to bet on the Wolves right now, I'm taking -1.5 at 1.97. Wolves still looks solid despite looking KAT to the Knicks, but they got Donte and Randle which is going to be a big help for them.

Plus, ANT could be a year better and smarter. His stint in the Olympics, playing along side Curry, Lebron and KD is enough for this kid to bring his game on the next level as he had seen this legends first hand on their discipline and of course their clutch plays and so it will be a big confident booster for him this season.

I am genuinely excited about the start of the new season. There are so many storylines to follow...curious to see if Luka, SGA, or Ant can take the MVP off the big boys.  We haven't had a guard win the MVP in like forever...what was it Harden in 2017-18?

This is also the farewell tour for TNT's Inside the NBA, those guys provided one the best coverage of any sport with their show...they will be missed.

I couldn't catch many of the preseason games, but it would be a shame not to have any bets on opening day, so yeah... Grin

D. White 2+ 3pts / K. Towns 12+ RA @1.70  X

D. White is the guy i trust the most shooting the 3pt ball from the Celtics and we know they will chuck a ton.

Brunson & KAT looked great in the only Knicks preseason game i watched, that PnR action between the two looked unstoppable. I like Towns dominating the boards over Horford though.

A. Edwards 25+ points / A. Davis 18+ points @1.80  won

I don't see anyone on the Lakers roster that can match up well against Ant, so yeah i expect him to have a strong game.

JJ Redick has repeatedly stated that he wants the Lakers to run their offense through AD. I expect him to lead the team in FG attempts throughout the season, that's of course, assuming he stays healthy.

I wanted to put something on DiVincenzo, but his new role off the bench for the T'wolves is a wait-and-see for now.
