This is not true, if you do not have enough knowledge to trade the markets then the best course of action that you can take is to do nothing, you should not trade the markets in that instance, because if you lose that money you're not going to learn anything out of it because you do not have the knowledge to do that, it is better to take your time and learn how to trade without risking any money and once you're ready then you can start with a small amount of money to gain experience.

I agree but I also believe that "hodl" is a meme. Trading takes some effort to learn but it's not truly hard to get the hang off. One thing I would be worried about is the manipulation in the market, its rampant.
That is definitely the hardest thing to get used to in this market, there is no doubt that the market is being manipulated and even big coins are affected by it and this is a huge problem, and we can clearly see an example of this with what's happening at the moment with many altcoins that have being going up in value in such a fast way that it is going to be impossible for those coins to maintain that value for long and yet there are many people that are still buying them believing that this is an altcoin season when it seems obvious that it is not.

If you already hold Bitcoin and Ethereum in your wallet, I don't think it's good to overly speculate at this time. But if you want to keep converting our coins in altcoin, I think it's better to choose altcoin which is in the top 50 because it's already known by investors and has great liquidity so we can sell it at any time
In my own opinion, if you are interested to invest some of your money in altcoins, you shouldn't prefer top 50 altcoins in the market because those coins are not really good for investment, that is why you should only go for top 10 altcoins such as ETH, LTC, BNB, BCH and so on.
i personally agree with convert that to LTC or DASH because last day i observe these coins and really these coins increase high price. another options are same good is stay hold your bitcoin, sell your ethereum and buy to bitcoin. because i observe ethereum for these few days no increase price as good. honestly i am dissappointed with ethereum

No IEOs have been running by major exchanges recently. It seems that IEO has not attracted the same participants as before because its profit is not really much. But for $ 300, I think you can't participate in any big exchange IEO because their rules are tough and you need a lot of money to meet those rules. So I think you should choose altcoins to invest in, it's best to look for altcoins that have IEO in large exchanges and the price drops many times to invest.

I would suggest a few things and my personal opinion on it for you so that you can take some good decision on your own,

1. Buying BTC or ETH - You already have some exposure investing in it.
2. Altcoins - It's always risky to invest in ALts even if you choose to, consider investing within the top 30 or even within the top 50 don't go beyond that.
3. ICO - No the craze has gone and nowadays the good projects are launching from the good exchanges as IEO. Finding the good projects from the ICO space is extremely difficult.
4. IEO - It will be a good way if you choose to invest in the new projects. Don't go beyond the top exchanges IEOs. Consider Binance, OKEX, Huobi or GATE at max. But personally I would suggest only Binance but most of those IEOs require the users to hold their exchange coins to get into the IEO. I don't think you have enough initial amount to buy these exchange coins to increase your chances to get into IEOs.

I think the safe choice for current market conditions is to keep Bitcoin. The current condition of altcoin is not good and many IEO or ICO prices have fallen after the initial listing on the exchanger. Maybe IEO can be an alternative but it should be used as a short-term investment.

I recomended to buy ethereum, you can go all in in ethereum, buy ethereum right now wait it rising arround 30% then sell back to bitcoin and holding bitcoin, im sure ethereum will rise his valie before bitcoin rising, after bitcoin starting to rise, all altcoin will get danger situation.

I have little amount in bitcoin $279 and Ethereum $72, so where i can invest now? IEO/ICO or old coins in CMC?

If you want give me suggest for IEO then you can explain, which exchange best for a successful IEO.
Basically ICO no have good position now this time, so another chance making profitable for OLD coins?

thanks to all
I won't suggest you to invest any IEO/ICO or any old Coin. Bitcoin surged from 3.2k USD to 13.2k but which old coin actually pumped well? New coin did good there because we don't know how much demand of any new good coin. To stay safe Binance IEO is good this time, although one coin dumped well in Binance exchange.

With small amount of capital like $279, in order to maximize your investment profit margins, you should rather invest in Altcoins with market value less than $1. Also depending on your investment plans (either long term or short term or daily trading), your choose of crypto coin really matters in terms of profit margins...

If you want to invest in IEO, I think it's better to invest in large exchangers like Binance, Okex, or Huobi. Small exchanger is currently holding a lot of IEO but in my opinion not many successful and many investors who suffered losses after the initial listing
99 percent of IEOs that were conducted on small exchanges brought only losses and losses are very large. I don’t even want to participate in IEOs that take place on large exchanges because this is just a pump and dump scheme. you will understand this when you look at the prices of all the projects that conducted IEO on the Binance
Im not interested investing in IEO because just like what you said its like a pump and dump scheme so I better chose a well established coins rather than trying my luck in IEO.

For me btc and eth are enough as an investment. Dont switch to ICO/IEO because its risky.

Well I guess a well establish coin must have high price so we need more money to buy it but bitcoin is best choice according to me. Right now bitcoin is not at high price and we can afford it easily so better buy some bitcoins store them and one more thing, buying at low price will need more time to hold because you buy low price then wait as long as it require for recover of that coin, never be greedy about your investment.

This is difficult to find good ICO/IEO, you can't predict what happen about the project in the future. Better you hold your btc and eth on your wallet. This is very good because btc Will halving in this year and i think the price of btc raise up.
Today there is such a situation on the cryptocurrency market that there are quite a lot of new projects, whose teams are primarily thinking about making money, and not about the prospects of their project.  And I don’t mention about fraudulent projects, which are generally very difficult to identify.  Based on this, before investing their money, each investor must do a lot of work on studying projects, all technical documentation, as well as each team member, in order to exclude fraud.  But the prospects for the project in the future will need to be identified differently, because the project must first of all be very popular in society.

that's right, nowadays it's very difficult to find a good IEO. this is caused because most projects do not choose a large exchange for IEO. participating in IEO is the right way to spend your money  Smiley
It's right if you do your homework and research well with the project that you are going to invest your money. Don't waste your time
trying to invest with new projects that being held or offered from unknown exchange chances that it will only scam away your money
is very high.

I understand that project whose conducting IEO were just starting too, so for sure they don't afford to list in large exchange, but for me it means a 'no no' because you don't have private investor, that's why right now I prefer those who didn't do IEO/ICO but still existing and has a lot of private investors, means they are really trusted one.

I agree with you, there IEO is I think for only risk takers and big time investors. If you really want to invest and gain profits you desire those well established coins can give you the return of profits you want. I would suggest XRP right now due its current price drop, and we are all expecting for it to bounce back since now bitcoins has started to increase its value.

I see, some altcoins in your portfolio are pretty good, like BCH, DASH, EOS, I think it's worth you to fill. But if you want to save it for a long time, BTC and ETH seems to be enough than you have to take greater risks by entering the ICO or IEO area. but, all choices depend on you, I can only suggest.
yes at this time I was a little surprised by the BCH chart after the bitcoin movement started on the market. it seems like it will be an asset that I consider buying and investing. whereas beforehand the BCH market was also not very good for trade and investment. LTC is even better than BCH.
