NEM is now the best performing crypto of the year in a year of complete and utter insanity, and it may well have been last year too but I can't remember, yet still your average dogshitcoin gets 20x the number of threads here than NEM. It's fucking weird. More for everyone else of course but I'm beginning to wonder whether it's some sort of crypto neuralyser that wipes minds from afar.

Some time ago, there was a discussion about lowering the standard transaction fee. Now as the price reached new highs, this problem becomes more urgent. Standard transactions already cost between .50 and $1.50 what is a way to much. Creating mosaics and other operations do cost much more.
What is the current state of the discussion and are there plans to lower the fees soon?

Its true there are some certain advantages for long term holders. For expample you wont feel the pump and dump dips so hard. There are a lot of people who think they can predict the market and sell lot to early

I find that NEM is going to be a very good long term hold. When I say long term hold, I am talking about 3-4 years you will see NEM appriciate in value. A lot of people including myself who do long term, the results will shock you if you have patience, your lookibg at a substansial increase if you just as they say in this market. "HODL"

Price surge is just a correction in the right direction. NEM is a enterprise-ready, fully working blockchain-solution. No hype or some fancy blingbling.

the first and the main advantage keeping NEM's into a wallet is security. who knows what will create exchanges, kyc and etc
always better to have your coins off the exchanges. The nano wallet is great

Let´s see what the developers will propose. Anyway there will be no best way. But something which doesn't require the community to react will still be the smoothest thing. Good to have have quite a lot of time till then. I just encourage everyone to take part in the discussion in the official forum

You can just use a NanoWallet and connect to a full node then. That's probably easier than maintaining a full node yourself. how much giga take the blockchain wallet?

From the usability point it is not fair to request the users to send their XEMs to some sink.
There is too many "breaking points": when? what about vacations or being offline or ... ?
From the tech point it would be odd that snapshot would not be possible.
Or is it possible to have NEM and CEM (Catapult Economy Movement) ?
Like BTC and BCH. (Edit: maybe not a good comparison, because CEM is of course better than BCH
