I would like to test zpool on a small rig with a 970 and a 1050Ti, but I can't figure out the settings which work. If I plugin the hashrates, I always get an error which states a CPU validation error, claymore and nicehash however work as expected.

Could you please help me? Do you just sum the hash rates? Thx

Finally found the link that explains the profitability factor - https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.15933612

So basically it is just the hash rate... I quickly checked my GTX 970 and got the following:

myr-gr=40,lyra2v2=21,neoscrypt=0.5,blakecoin=2.4,c11=9.9,groestl=20,blake2s=2.2,x17=6.6,nist5=27,skein=290,sib=7.3,lbry=149,timetravel=14.6,decred=1.5,veltor=19,bitcore=9

Are they all to be measured in MH or is some of them in GH?

thats all correct that will work very well ! yeh most are in MHS except for blake algos and decred which are GHS but you already have them set correctly  note: if you want to enable equihash the code would be 1070=420sols=                               "equihash=0.42"
Regards Nemo

I made a tool which creates it for you. A couple post down  there is a link to the excel version

I would like to understand how it knows which one to connect to and when to disconnect.

Is there a time limit? time min? thanks
It's poolside control.   It's as fast as your batch can reach the next algo the pool wants you on.... in simplest terms.  But; a full explanation is in here too.

I did, still have a couple more ?s.

1. In the password field, i'm assuming the numbers for each algo should be my hashrates
2. If I do not want to mine an algo, should I remove it from the password line and the REM the launch line? I tried the launch line but it never connected to anything because I think it was trying to mine SIB
3. Using "SET" can i create a string using vars? SET PASS=c=BTC,%VAR1%,%VAR2,....
4. Alexis appears to take forever to get to full speed. Its like it adds a 1 card every 30 seconds

thanks

Hi guys, thanks for the replies. I read through all the pages and I still didn't see a good explanation of how the profitability factor actually works. On ZPool the documentation doesn't go into much depth except to say that scrypt is the reference with a factor of 1. - http://www.zpool.ca/site/multialgo

In this thread it has been referred to as both speed and intensity while on zpool its called profitability. I would appreciate some info on what the number does and how it should be changed. How are you arriving at your numbers selected in the batch file, and how should I go about determining what numbers are optimal for my gtx970? Is is based on the hardware, the profits, or just preference? Any discussion on the topic would be greatly appreciated.

i tested Tanguy:https://github.com/tpruvot/ccminer on the blake2s algo tried -i 28 (no improvment over Alexis78) note: for best results with Tanguy v2.0 RC3 use -i 31 for blake2s. faster... tested on my 1060 single card gaming pc

Alexis78 with its default -i was still the best slightly higher hashrate than Tanguy v2.0 RC3 with -i 31

I have a few questions...

1 - How does the profitability factors work? Should we change them if we are using for example a GTX970 instead of a GTX1070?

2 - Why are you not using other miners such as the tpruvot build of ccminer? I find I get better blake2s hash rates with this miner and setting intensity to 28. https://github.com/tpruvot/ccminer/releases

3 - A few miners in the batch file are REM'd out such as zminer, is this because they do not work or is there some problem with them?

1 - How does the profitability factors work? Should we change them if we are using for example a GTX970 instead of a GTX1070?= yes you can change the speed factor to suit your card... i set them up for a 1070 at 70tdp...

2 - Why are you not using other miners such as the tpruvot build of ccminer? I find I get better blake2s hash rates with this miner and setting intensity to 28. https://github.com/tpruvot/ccminer/releases= if you look back in my previous post i have checked all versions of ccminer for me and the 1070's i use alexis78 latest build its the  fastest for every algo except timetravel,lyra2z and groestl as it doent support those algo at the moment(you can change which ccminer a algo uses tho in the .bat.)

3 - A few miners in the batch file are REM'd out such as zminer, is this because they do not work or is there some problem with them?=also if u read previous post i have equihash disabled atm that all the REM means.... its still in there if you or i want to enabled it..

Hope this is some Help

The new version 1.7.1 not working with Nvidia GTX 1050.

properly not i built and tested this for the 1070... and made sure it worked on the 1060... i would have to add a few custom -i commands to get this working on lower cards than the 1060...

i have a 1050ti on me so i mite throw it in  a pc and to some testing don't really see the point going below 1050ti tho not many people use those low end cards for mining...

edit: I just noticed equihash at the top of zpool's list so why don't you include EWBF in the zpool list?

How does it decide to "check" and change algorithms? Should I stop it every 8 hours and see or will it swap over automatically somehow?

i had equihash enabled in previous versions but as zpools equihash pool has very low hasrate it will never find a zcash block so i found it to be a waste of hash.. NemosMiner-ZPOOL makes more if equihash stays Disabled for the time being.. if you want zcash use MPH

it will automatic change you don't have to check anything or restart anything i have successfully been running NemosMiner-v1.7.1 on a windows 8.1 rig with 4x1070 and been stable for over a week now haven't had to touch it .

for zpool;  the pool choses your algo for you by disconnecting stratum: signalling to close miner and only let the algo it wants attain a stratum connection.

This does not cross-talk across pools.

Thankyou
