base difficulty has reset, CPU cheetah solo mining dominance is over. Now is GPU solo mining world.

network hash rate: 68790.6766 MH/s   or 68GH/s.     CPU cheetah miner is getting pretty all the blocks.  It is likely earlier on today one big ASIC miner mined a spike
difficulty block, in which the event pretty much set the base difficulty to sky high and only CPU cheetah miners can solo mine now until the next reset.

base difficulty shot up above 1, ASIC is back on control, CPU Cheetah solo mining is improving yields.

Not that it matters but I spent some time today consolidating my coins
I am now #6 on the richlist

Just thought it was cool.

Wow, with that many,. You are NENG whale now.
And with just 2 older machines and a pair of video cards over a few months playing around.
Finally just got around to combing all of them into a sing address.

-Dave

Cool, you must have done a lot of mining work between different rigs and around base reset days.  I myself have not counted how much I mined through CPU cheetah/solo GPU or solo ASIC, probably a lot.   With this kind DynDiff scrypt,  the most profitable scrypt fleet is likely a combo of CPU cheetah + solo ASIC + solo GPU and work around base reset days to make a killing on mining.  Moonlanders 2 USB ASIC scrypt solo mining a lots of issues for me, like pool dead/device not found around base reset days. Certainly quite bit of work, not just as easy as regular pool mining. But eventual profit from solo ASIC or solo GPU is a lot, well worth the work and fun experience!

Changed title back to CPU MINING.  base difficulty rose above 1, GPU MINING gradually lose profitability. ASIC/CPU dual dominance on mining starts.

A good idea! This will really make the blockchain NENG more secure.

NENG core v1.3.0 Hardfork Proposal in 2020 Q1 or Q2 -> Scrypt RandomSpike

NENG version: v1.3.0
code name: Scrypt RandomSpike
Reason: Decentralization and Security Fix on Severe Miner Timestamp Attack during Base Diff Reset
Hard Fork: Yes
Time frame:  2020 late Q1 or Q2, with one week wallet full node compatible with older version co-existence after release
Backward Compatible with regular scrypt: Yes
Dev Lead:  honglu69
Dev Advisor: Jeronimo99
Detailed Proposal Doc: to be published in the coming weekend for background, rational and technical details.

Please tune to the coming hard fork proposal details and express your opinion, for or against openly to dev team so that we can consider and modify or even revoke
this hard fork in consideration of NENG community all parties's interest.

Researched about 200 blocks from 1186403 to 1186603, about 62 minutes for 200 blocks or 18.6 seconds per block.  So far
it looks normal despite of timestamp miners cheating continuously.

Small ASIC solo miner  (Moonlander 2 3.5 mh/s) mining reward checking today, in average about 5.6 blocks per hour, or 2.8% of total block reward.   This is high reward
considering the total network hash rate was likely to be higher than 125 MH/s today.   Small ASIC solo miner with honest timestamp was getting rewards normally as it should.

GPU solo miners were impacted severely by this miner timestamp cheating. It used to be that GPU solo miners outperformed significantly the ASIC solo miners. Now with this, GPU solo miners were getting a lot less reward on reset day.  Small ASIC solo miners were likely to get more rewards than solo GPU miners on reset day. Still my own GTX 1050 solo miner was still getting some decent rewards on reset day.  CPU Cheetah miners were getting almost nothing, not mining anyway, just with tons of "miner timestamp cheating warning" msg.

It is obvious that whatever the purpose of the timestamp manipulating miner, the miner was not getting all the blocks. The 51% double spending attack risk was low. The more solo small ASIC/GPU miners, the more secure and decentralized of the NENG blockchain.  NENG blockchain is fine.

NENG shorelinecrypto deposit confirmation is back to normal at 8.

Timestamp Bitcoin Rule
NewEnglandcoin follows bitcoin timestamp rule as below:
https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Block_timestamp

DynDiff makes time stamping before the the previous block almost impossible or very costly. But current DynDiff v1.2.x still allows any miner to stamp time ahead of current time, with bitcoin rule above enforced.
