They don't wants to see their kids lives ruins too so they always guides their kids in the right track and makes sure that their kids really stay away from gambling. They will not shows to their kids when they playing gambling because they don't wants their kids follows what they do.
Parents can sits together with their kids and talk each other to have a warm relationships and makes they have a closer relationships. But the fact is not many parents can do this because many parents have busy with their works so they don't have much time with their kids.
That can makes their kids feels alone and will gets closer with their friends which can gives a bad impact to them. Parents can't educate their kids with right if their kids is not closer to them and their kids will have a rebellion to their parents and makes things worst.

That's a challenging aspect of such a societal problem. Most families handle two jobs just to meet up with their family financial responsibilities. Parents rarely get involved with their kids due to business and work. However, the workload doesn't occupy the whole day for a gambler. It's all about fatigue and tiring work activities that really separates parents from teaching their kids. Amidst the difficulty some gamblers who make out time still, to play games can funnel the energy towards tutoring their kids. Maybe make out time twice a week to help the kids stay away from wrong influence. Those who then due to whatever reason it is, gamble in the midst of their children are to be cautioned to stop it.

I would agree that you shouldn't gamble in front of them, and frankly if you don't want your kids to gamble in the future you should make sure that you don't have any gambling addiction and if you do you should seek help and fix it because it could compromise your relationship with them in the future. This could cause you to get divorced, or cause you to have some wild mistake making behavior and you could lose custody of your children, or even much much worse. No good roads lead you to prosperity with bad gambling addictions.

I did not say that, at least I did not mean it like that. I was never a follower of an idea "never gamble in front of kids" (nor I dont follow the idea "gamble in front of them on purpose"). My point was that there is no use to hide gambling activity. It is useless. If not from parents, kids will find out gambling anyway. And that gambling addiction that people always mention. That makes me furious. I mean nobody get addicted to something only from watching. People get addicted to something only by doing something 24/7. If you gamble 24/7 then yes, kids will get addicted with 50/50 chance. Because nobody know what they find interest to in future. If you rarely gamble in front of them, imho chance that they get addicted is minimum. For example parents do other things in front of kids more often (like cooking for example or cleaning), but kids did not get addicted to that. So why gambling is somehow different.

P.S. You can be an anti-hero and gamble 24/7 in front of kids. With high chance, with such constant gambling a person will get broke. So such a parent can be a nice example "dont gamble if you dont want to end like your father/mother".

This point I was searching for because I think it is a very true statement, your kids will most definitely find out that you are gambling if you're hiding it! Kids are smart, they do pick up on even the smallest details even if you don't think they do. They are very observant and watchful, they can spot unusual behaviors & pick up on senses & when they are curious kids start digging. They will ask you questions point blank and eventually figure it out.

I would agree that you shouldn't gamble in front of them, and frankly if you don't want your kids to gamble in the future you should make sure that you don't have any gambling addiction and if you do you should seek help and fix it because it could compromise your relationship with them in the future. Make every effort to guide your child & when they are young teach them what happens to people who gamble too much & what can happen. Talking with kids is indeed very important because with it one can tell the child what is necessary for them and how they handle difficulty in the future as their grow up, it is not good to hide things to kid's such things that are high risks like gambling.

Parents do not hide the fact that they drink. They dont do it under the table, behind the corner or secretly at night in other room. Instead they give explanation to kids. I think similar should be done with gambling.

We bet while trying to keep our kids out of gambling. Like sponges, they absorb every detail. Despite your efforts to disguise your gambling tendencies, your child will scratch that itch. Not about you betting, but about them getting hooked too young and unable to withstand the emotional rollercoaster

So, what should parents do? Talk to your kids, guy! Tell stories, warn, and answer questions. Explain things plainly. Despite it, the world doesn't help. Sports betting is on TV, in pubs, everywhere. It's too easy to hook kids. What you do and the world you create for your kids matter. The true danger is seeing how easy gambling is and the promise of easy money. I am not saying that monopoly is gambling. Gambling - a process where money are involved and kids can make reckless decisions. Monopoly, games that teaches investing. Investing - a process where money are also involved. Gambling teaches kids that they can earn through gambling. Monopoly teaches that they can achieve same result through investing.

Ok, you want to discuss negative impact of gambling. Can you name something besides addiction? Because kids or nobody gets addicted to something only from watching the process or from trying. Something must happen in persons minds, to make him become mind twisted on gambling. A person does not become addicted just by doing something once or two times a week. If parents are gambling 24/7 and kids are near, then yes, I agree that this will have an impact on kids mind. But come on, only a tiny-tiny-tiny percent of parents do that.

And how come you be sure that kids "are not mature enough to understand", when significant amount of time and content that kids watch on youtube or games is "killing and violence". Any game that has main character and enemy, one of the game goals is to kill enemies. I notice this all the time. When parents play any game with their kids, all the time I hear "kill that guy", "kill that enemy", "jump on this bug head to kill him" and etc. Instead of "defeat enemy". And we here talk about possibility of gambling addiction and kids maturity to understand certain things.
