I don't recommend that either.

Gambling in front of your kids won't be a good thing to do especially if your kids start to ask you questions about it and inquire about what you're doing. It won't be better for them to know that you're gambling and understand exactly what gambling is. Because one day, that could reflect badly on them and they might become gamblers too, possibly in a negative way since they're quite young in terms of age and may not be wise enough to protect themselves from it imho.

I am definitely against gambling around young people.Gambling is a bad habit and addiction. The longer we protect our young people from this bad habit, the better it will be for them.At least it can make their life better if they get involved at a late age rather than getting involved at an early age.Eventually we know that young people get involved in gambling to make money, but I can say that there is a big difference between starting gambling at 18 and starting at 25.
In the meantime, you have done the best thing. Some slots and gambling games are attractive to children and they are curious.

Hey gamblers' community, hope you're all doing great.
I wanted to convey my message here that gambling in front of our kids may put adverse effects on their growing minds and they may also take the wrong path and start gambling (either by asking you personally for funds or by stealing it in order to fulfill their gambling cravings).

I'm sharing this because I saw this issue with my kiddo who was once watching me gamble at a website playing blackjack and she started asking me more about the game. Then one day, she wanted to play it herself and asked me if she can go for it and I said "no, it's not your legal age to go for such games". So, it's better to keep our kiddos away from gambling and let them focus on their studies, else it'd actually ruin everything for the whole family if the kid takes the wrong path.
I agree with you that a child may be attracted to gambling if he looks his parents involved in gambling. He may not be gambling at the time but he will have an attempt at gambling in his memory. And as he grows up, he will get ideas about gambling and at some point he will definitely get hooked. So no parent should gamble in front of children. This will disrupt the child's human development. We may be taking gambling as fun but those young kids take it seriously they can be destroyed.

every child likes games, when a child looks at those beautiful drawings, looks at those beautiful colors, that whole combination makes the child think about playing, but he doesn't understand the difference between the purpose that an adult is playing and the purpose that she would be playing, if we look at the games that are in casinos, we will see that they are normal games that anyone of any age can play, but the difference is that in the casino people must put money to play and how people should put money For this reason, age restrictions were created for them to play, because only an adult person, who already knows the value and importance of money and knows the basics of money management

and that he is also aware that by putting money in a casino he would lose everything and that this person could gamble, and it was the consensus of many governments that 18 years of age would be the ideal age for a person to be considered an adult. Therefore, an adult over 18 years of age should not gamble in front of an underage person, this is not just about gambling, it is also not right to drink alcohol in front of an underage person. for the same reason that in the physical casino we do not see any children inside the physical casino with their parents playing, this shows that if an adult cannot take a child to a physical casino because it is prohibited, then also that adult person when they are at home in front of a computer or on your cell phone, you cannot play at the online casino when you are around a child

In my case, there are no children in my house, but even so, when I'm analyzing games to place my bets, I'm always careful to do my analyzes away from people, I stay in my room away from people and I don't tell anyone about sports betting, I don't want people to know and not be able to control themselves and lose everything. I only bet with low amounts and only on a few games and spend little time and days at the casino, but other people could go the wrong way, that's why I don't talk about gambling with anyone

For anything that has a particular age bracket before someone starts doing it, adults shouldn't bring it close or do it in front of children no matter how little we take it as that they can't try it.

We should have in mind that Children pick things up quickly and are almost too curious to attempt new things they see others do or what they see on television. There's nothing that today's children are not inquisitive to try out on when they see their seniors doing it.

That's the major reason why adults need to be careful about the attitude they project and the TV channels they let kids watch. So when the children start to display such an attitude, they will be questioned about who taught them such behavior because at first you never did such a thing in their front.

Yup im not letting mine get anywhere near gambling. She has gotten a scratch card a few times for her birthday or for new years and i can see what not winning / expectation of winning with it does. Its just better not to have it till a certain age, not sure what that age is however. Live and learn i guess

Scratch cards are harmless as long as you don't tell her that you paid money to get nothing. Tell her it's a gift and she can get something, or nothing, but it's free. If she gets nothing, you will give her something else. The cards can work the same was a gift does if you explain them the right way.
I agree that we should keep kids away from gambling, but I know people who take it to extremes, not allowing them to play cards at all. It's easy to make a mistake with children and show gambling as the forbidden fruit that only grownups can try.

i dont have kids but if i did  i would never ever let them come close to gambling let alone gamble myself infront of them.

I  believe gambling  is one of the worst addictions a person can have and it would make me a failure as a father if i let my kids get into it

Children are imitators, children naturally take in exactly what they see adults do. It is natural for adults to participate in gambling either hidden from children or indirectly. Adults should never do these things in front of children under 18 years of age, especially in front of children at home. So for the time being, adults should participate in gambling completely hidden from children so that children will be saved from the horrors of gambling and there will be no disruption in their education.
Yes, because they are still a kid and they are still curious on different things on this world. I still think that there is no harm if our kid sees us gamble because they are too young to know on how to access a gambling site. And for sure they will think it's boring especially if the game that we are playing are about cards or those who are live.

There are other things/activities which are not really appropriate to do in front of our kids than in gambling. I guess you already know what are those. When in comes to disruption in their education, the one that are notorious for this is not gambling but it was the video games and maybe watching Youtube videos.

Frankly, if anyone needs to be told not to gamble in front of their children, they should probably reconsider their parenting strategy. Gambling is an adult activity with very adult consequences, and exposing young minds to it is irresponsible. When you become a parent, you sign up for a role that involves shaping another human being's life. If you're selfish enough to bring your vices into that equation, you're failing at that job. Your kid could end up paying for your irresponsibility in a way that's irreversible. So, heed this person's warning, folks, or prepare to face the consequences.  Angry Angry

I am still single so I am safe in this aspect but my brother is a big gambler and he accepted gambling long back. Besides, my brother has a good forehead and he earns a lot of money almost by gambling. I am a small online gambler so I don't invest much money here but I lost a lot of money this year. However children should be prevented from gambling as their thinking is very weak now so they can indulge in any kind of bad activities for gambling. There are many young children who have been caught by the police gambling since childhood and the suffering falls on their parents so more attention should be paid to the scandal..

ambling is not child's play, and the normalization of it in front of kids is a ticking time bomb. Do you want to know why? Because gambling companies love nothing more than to get people hooked young. Lets not be naive; they want lifelong customers.

We need to keep our kids away from this, no ifs, ands, or buts about it. While we're busy risking our money, we're also risking our children's future without even realizing it. Its time for parents to wake up. This isnt just fun and games; its the economy of addiction, and our kids are the collateral damage.

If we dont act now, this issue will become a family crisis, which could evolve into a societal crisis. Mark my words, do your part, and keep the gambling away from the young ones.

If we love our children, we must keep negative activities including gambling away from our children. And I personally am very secretive about my activities when gambling and I happen to not be an active gambler, so I only gamble outside the house when I am in a cafe enjoying a cup of coffee, with a few dollars and also a few hours.
And I don't want my son to get involved in gambling or anything that could harm him and his health, so I'm very careful. And I also always control my child's activities when playing with gadgets, and also always check their gadgets carefully after using them and also give advice about negative things, including gambling, so they don't open them when there are gambling advertisements.

The question arises for how long will you be able to keep your children away from gambling when you yourself are involved in gambling?

You may convince small Children that these things are not for your age but when they see their father daily spending time on gambling, the curiosity of the child keeps increasing. One day he or she will start playing and there is no way we can stop the children. if we want our children not to gamble, we need to end or limit our own gambling activities.

I don't think you've carefully read my recent comments here, did you?
Else you'd have known that I'm not a constant (or in other words, daily or addicted) gambler who keeps doing it every single day. I do it once in a while and it was literally my bad luck that my daughter saw me doing it, so TBH I shared it with you guys here just so that even an addicted gambler don't do it in front of anybody whom he/she doesn't want to influence and doesn't want them to get into it at all. I think this is a case-to-case basis depending on how your kind views gambling as a whole.

As someone who grew up with a father who frequently brings me to arenas of cockfightings, I was not that influenced when it comes to his gambling activities. Sure, I was curious at a point that I even tried gambling away my money during my time in the arena (I was underaged btw) but the habit of me gambling came from my personal decision not to delve deeper into this act.

At the end of the day, what matters is the influence and teachings you bestow upon your children. Though I do agree that it is best to gamble away from your kids, even if you do it by mistake, it is not the end of the road as you can correct this by guiding them all throughout their journey.

Children today are smarter than children a few years ago. They can record what is happening around them more powerfully than children of a few years ago. That is why we have to hide activities they are not allowed to see yet so they do not record them in their memory. And I agree with keeping our children away from gambling for whatever reason because they are still growing, and don't let them grow up on the wrong path. We as parents must be responsible for their lives, and that starts from an early age. We also need to accompany them in learning something so that we can guide them so they don't take the wrong path.

That's unethical you should only gamble in front of your kids if they are at the right age to understand what gambling is and what's not and why are you doing this, there's always a time for everything, and your kids will one day discover what gambling is but never in a young age.

You should show your kids at all times that gambling is entertainment, not something where you can double your money, and a platform where you can continue to make a lot of money because that's never the reality, and it's not what the casinos are preaching to their users.

It’s totally depends on your children knowledge,if they are sportive in nature. They won’t care about the your gambling involvement or gambling activities. The parents should not share about the loss in the gambling,if so the children will chase the loss of the parents after they stop gambling. This may leads to the children to become the gambling addict.Once the children get addicted into the gambling,it’s hard for the children to get away from the gambling addiction. The most important one is they keep increasing of the deposit money by the gambling addiction.

Coming back to gambling, I wouldn't teach it to my child, as I don't want to be responsible if they start gambling at young age, but if they start on their own, I'll be there to help them be rational about it.
Me either.

I will refuse to introduce it. But if by the time that my child is grown up and an adult and decides to gamble, it's gonna be a personal decision that I cannot meddle.

As long as there's the job that will sustain the gambling activity and won't ask me my own money just to gamble, that's it.

I wonder if those card games that children play on old basic windows operating system before was once motivated those children to do gambling.
Possible, when they see adults play it with some money on the side. That will tickle their minds and curiosity why adults do that.

Lol, no doubt about that. Kids these days are learning things way too fast. There was a Guinness world record of a 6 year old girl who developed a game.
I am sure all of us here were eating sand at that age. But yeah, keeping kids away from gambling should be a common sense that everyone should have.
In fact, no parent would want their children to learn gambling at least at a young age.
