This is very good message, it might not seem like it but it’s the truth. Children easily learn from things they see around and with their brains they easily grab things that’s why it is always advised to keep things meant for adults away away from children. If gambling should be for children there would not be any age restrictions and not just gambling we should try our posible best to stay far away from our children when engaging in all these activities.

I'm sharing this because I saw this issue with my kiddo who was once watching me gamble at a website playing blackjack and she started asking me more about the game. Then one day, she wanted to play it herself and asked me if she can go for it and I said "no, it's not your legal age to go for such games". So, it's better to keep our kiddos away from gambling and let them focus on their studies, else it'd actually ruin everything for the whole family if the kid takes the wrong path.
You did a very thing telling her no she can’t play, she may think it’s a game for fun and may not be aware that money is being staked to play it. Now that you are aware of her interest, try as much as possible to never let her have access to the site or the game because children are fast learners and she may easily understand the concept of the game.

It is right that you should not gamble in front of your child because you yourself will be the reason if your child grows up to be a gambler. But I think it still depends on your child because honestly I'm like that too, my parents used to gamble in our house when I was young of course I was curious that I tried it too and then I was addicted to gambling to the point that I I stole money from my parents just to gamble but my parents told me that what I was doing was wrong until I thought that it was wrong, I was not of legal age to gamble at that time.

Let's not gamble in front of our children because we know it's not good for the children who will see it. Yes, let's say we can't avoid this because nowadays there are many streamers who gamble, but maybe it's not right that you will be the reason why your son became a gambler, right? If you see your child watching gambling, immediately tell him that it is wrong. You will be your child role as model

Well i don't think this is limited to only gambling but to all aspect of life if you found yourself doing want you don't like do not allow your children or younger ones to look after you in that area which you do things, personally i don't open up every i does online for my kids especially when i am with my phone i wouldn't want them to start peeping at my screen because they will surely asked to know what you are doing and if you are not transparent to them bet me, whenever they had an opportunity they will go open your smartphone or even used their mother's phone to browse that same website you've been hiding for them for long.

Hey gamblers' community, hope you're all doing great.
I wanted to convey my message here that gambling in front of our kids may put adverse effects on their growing minds and they may also take the wrong path and start gambling (either by asking you personally for funds or by stealing it in order to fulfill their gambling cravings).

I'm sharing this because I saw this issue with my kiddo who was once watching me gamble at a website playing blackjack and she started asking me more about the game. Then one day, she wanted to play it herself and asked me if she can go for it and I said "no, it's not your legal age to go for such games". Yes a child always learns everything from his parents.  So they will get used to them as their parents do in front of them.  So if a parent gambles in front of their children then the children may try to gamble as a result eventually those children will also be attracted to gambling and become addicted to gambling. Which will bring great danger in the life of that child.  So of course a parent should hide there gambling habit  from kids

Anything you don't want them to learn, don't expose them to it. It will be a big blunder to expose children to gambling by our actions. I don't allow any kid to be around me when I am doing things that are not their age level. Children can learn easily and are also prone to gambling addiction. This is why we should protect them from gambling. Children like observing what adults do, which is why it is important to also observe them before engaging in gambling. I don't allow them to be close to my phone when I am gaming. Also, the best time to game is when they have gone to bed or not at home. I also ensure that I clear my gambling browser history before giving them access to my phone. But there is also a need to speak to them about gambling if they are above 10. They need to know the gambling age as well as the need to avoid it for now. They should also know about gambling addiction and why they shouldn't be involved for now.

Kids are certainly keen observant on whatever they see on their environment. That is why as parents, we should be more vigilant not to let them see the things that will ruin their future, most particularly with gambling. Never expose them about money and betting, as they will immediately think that it can also be good for them since you are making good profit from it. And as much as possible, we should make them understand that kids are not supposed to make profits, it’s only for responsible adults, but give their full attention on their studies as education could be a lifetime wealth that cannot steal from them.

Children are imitators, children naturally take in exactly what they see adults do. It is natural for adults to participate in gambling either hidden from children or indirectly. Adults should never do these things in front of children under 18 years of age, especially in front of children at home. So for the time being, adults should participate in gambling completely hidden from children so that children will be saved from the horrors of gambling and there will be no disruption in their education.
Children are really at such a young age, they will naively imitate the actions we create every day but I don't think this game will have a deep impression on them, sometimes it's just a curiosity and wanting to explore gambling games. It does not affect perception too much when current education has focused on isolating children from these bad things but before isolating gambling, it is necessary for them to know what it is and the harmful effects of gambling. But in general, this problem should be limited when there are children at home, family should be the top priority

The present day kids are too inquisitive always wanted to find out and know everything we do, thus we have to be extraordinary careful in our dealings in their presence because exposing them to gambling might derail them to lose focus particularly in their school and academic work fortunately all my gambling is confined to my mobile phone and I always take caution whenever I wanted to play a bet, possibly move to my room and lockup, however I do allow them to play inbuilt games on my phone which has nothing to do with gambling while my online gambling sites has login details which is only accessable by me alone.

Hehehehe. I think there's so many don'ts adults should be aware of when it comes to kids but it seems gambling is just the topic of discourse here. It's crazy how fast they pick up things and it's a bit annoying that they easily grab onto the bad vices faster than they do the good ones. I think Op used the best approach to stall his kid, and if he's lucky she'd find something to catch her fancy but there are other kids who are relentless and sometimes in the absence of any adult supervision, indulge in those things just to satisfy their curiosity..

They may think that what we do is always good for them that's why we can see those kids exposed on such activity dealing to similar activities at early age that's why its good for us and to our child that we should not expose them on this kind of activity since they might develop a violent traits which we don't like to see from them. We must keep our our hobby as a secret and its up for them when they grow up to follow what we do if they found out but we make sure that they are properly guided so that we can make sure that everything on their side is so fine and no elements can harm them.

It is responsible of parents to not do any activity that has an age restriction in front of their kids, these includes sexual activities, drinking (irresponsibly), gambling, and so on.
Children are naturally very curious and take an interest in almost anything they see, they should not be exposed to activities they are not legally allowed to practice cause it sets them up to get attracted to it and in turn addicted to that activity.

Then one day, she wanted to play it herself and asked me if she can go for it and I said "no, it's not your legal age to go for such games". So, it's better to keep our kiddos away from gambling and let them focus on their studies, else it'd actually ruin everything for the whole family if the kid takes the wrong path.
You handled it quite well. There is always the downside that kids will still learn everything eventually, through peer groups, television or the internet, it helps to teach it to them and point them to what they can do and what they cannot quite do yet.

It's not a good idea to gamble in front of your kids. Gambling can create a false perception that it's an easy way to make money which can lead to unrealistic expectations and financial problems later on.

Children seeing you gambling can normalise risky behaviour and potentially increase the chances of developing a gambling addiction.

It’s important for children to understand the value of hard work, saving and responsible financial decision making which can be overshadowed by the allure of gambling.

Creating a positive and responsible financial environment for children is good for their well being and future success.

I think we already-know.

Gambling is a bad habit, even without being told by thread people are gonna hide their gambling activity. Your kids knowing about gambling most the time from social-media, example streamer.

Since you all know, most streamer even a game streamer sometimes change to gambling-slot streamer because paid promotion.

Kids are intelligent. They like observing the people around them and then they imitate the behaviors they see. Most often, kids really picture out and copy your attitude, the way you behave, and the way you perceive things. They are fast learners. That's why they said that if you want your kids be a good people, show them - be their role model. And I guess it's really true because it's often the case to the kids and parents that I personally know. Honestly, it's both fascinating and worrisome. Fascinating because you can mold your kids into becoming a great adult by showing them how to be kind, responsible, respectful, and strategic. Worrisome because they might grow into a bad one if they are exposed into an unpleasant upbringing during their childhood.

So it's really a matter of discipline on your side as a parent. If you think gambling has a great repercussions to one's life especially if they are exposed to it at a young age, then do your best to avoid gambling with them around. That way, they will not be curious about it.

Never gamble in front of your kids, OP from the topic I don't think you can avoid what's coming, it doesn't matter if you do it in front of your kids or not, what will be will be. As long as you're a gambler it might get into you child to be a gambler that's if he wants because the world today is just exposed to so many things, you hide it from your children doesn't mean they won't learn it from outside and they might even be a bettter than you are if care isn't taken. So I'd say, as parents do your part and let nature take it's cause. You can gamble in front of your kids and he or she might just over look it, like not having it in mind to try it, that's life, is all about choice.

They really learn fast but I don't think they see it as gambling money as we do unless you tell them that. Any game they play is just fun for them and that's probably how your kid think of it. I once saw a buddy of mine let his son play dice on mobile and he didn't find it alarming. The kid actually got bored.

Social gatherings is where kids probably see more gambling activities when adults play table games as a past time. They would usually put money on the table while some kids would be watching at the back. Many of us here probably grew up in that kind of environment. We learned how to gamble at a young age but still ended up fine.
