Hi all,

Has anyone put together a "how to" guide to use this thing?  I've set up butterfly 60Gh/s machines before but this one has no instructions that came with it.  My email asking for a manual has never been returned.

Thanks for any help!
perogi.

perogi,

what are you trying to do.  i got my units setup and have been mining solid.  Might be able to give some pointers.

I'm trying to find the default login and password.  EDIT: The normal raspPi login/password: pi/raspberry isn't working.

EDIT2: Found this post:

Anyone happen to know the password to SSH into the unit?

I was able to use "admin" for the name, but "admin", "pass", "password", and "amt" do not work for the password.

Mine was already in English.

The default user/pass is root/admin.

Pro Tip for the OP: Put this information somewhere that users can get to it without having to read through 20 pages in a random forum.  Thank you.

opieum2 - thanks for the reply.  I sent you a PM.

I actually got the "desktop" style server but it's in good shape and has a PSU.

Working on a community guide. Working on setting up the miner and taking notes. They should be providing a manual but for now I will post some stuff. I got my miners a few hours ago.

-First impressions (out of the box): If you got the rackmount versions like I did. LOUD. I mean deafeningly loud fans...that being said...COOOL VERY cool. These are meant for datacenters through and through. The screws themselves should be changed out for flat headed screws vs rounded headed for better server stacking. I made a video demonstrating the sound difference between an AMT miner and an Antminer S2 for comparison on just the sound. Both fans started at peak...only S2 spun down. That said AMT miner does have the headers for a PWM fan so quieter yet still cooler fans is absolutely possible.

More to come.

It looks like I got a different unit than everybody else?  At least as far as the case and Pi (mine is red and thus from China) goes.  The insides look kinda the same, bent power connectors and all.

I just took some pics:

http://imgur.com/a/FlTDM

For the record, my package had the red DHL Inspection sticker, was really beat up and taped together like hell, and had a plank of bamboo at the bottom.  At least it wasn't a rusty piece of metal like others on here got...
Interesting... Maybe they had some other cases laying around? Is there any indication that its AMT?

Please take a moment to remove one of the modules and take a picture of the PCB (printed circuit board). You'll see our Logo is on the board and we organized the assembly, production, components and everything else to get those models done. Our rack mount casing was not finished yet and we shipped to clients that would most likely want desktop cases anyway, in order to be faster we shipped with those cases.
Makes sense to me!

Also our logo was on the front of the miner, but it seems have been removed. You can see the sticky square spot in the first photo.

Also if you remove the screws and take off the top heatsink on the module, you'll see that the A1-chipset is A1-3, which is from the original batch we ordered from bitmine back in December. We used those chips for this build.

Those are the indications that yes it is AMT. It may be a different design which we purchased, but its what we could afford in order to deliver.

That's a good start. Now that you're distributing binary copies of open source software, where is the corresponding source code?

I received my miner as well and its hashing great.

The fans are loud.  But the miner is hashing stable.

The rack mount ears are great!!

Was it worth $6,000 you paid for?

I'm still waiting for additional miners to compensate me for the $6,000 I paid for back in December.  It's been 6 months already since the promised ship date of February and I do not have ROI.

Welcome to the gold rush.  just get the gold you can get before its all gone.

They say the only ones who make money off a gold rush are the ones selling stuff to the miners.  Seems pretty apt
