the 50 post rule was good and might have actually helped clean up the other forums.  This new policy will do nothing and the other forums are already full of spam.

This is my 5th post.  I'm trying to have something interesting to say.

I have been reading the ASIC shipped thread, with 44 pages.  I am astonished at how incredibly rude many of the posters are.  I am preparing a KickStarter project, it is not related in any way to Bitcoin, and I can't imagine any desire to try to make a product for the posters in that forum.

The limit of 5 posts is not much, here
I remember a forum where people had to send 50 good posts and could become higher level members after 1 month.

How do I get out of here??
You make 5 substantive posts spread over 6 hours. Don't worry, this is not a jail.

Seems like it.

I think that you need a newbie section in some other languages too. Not only English.

I think this newbie time counter is broked.

I have been on a few times but the "total time logged in" counter remains 0

So.  Basically I have infinity minutes to reach the ability to post outside this newbie group?  That's a bummer.

Hello,

Long time lurker(about a year), software/hardware hacker, penetration tester, btc miner and bitcoin enthusiast in general who is still learning the deep in's and out's of the system. I am a Information Security professional who works mainly blue team issues for a large MSSP. We have seen a major upsurge in botnets mining bitcoins to pools and I would like to be able to post/reply in the Mining forums to hopefully discuss this with some pool operators as I am currently working on some methods to detect true illegal botnet mining. I would love to provide some information on what we are seeing on the defending side of bitcoin botnets.

I am also a ASIC Pre-order hopeful, Sadly GPU mining for the last year to pay for my VPN usage and have been extremely active in the security community over the last 15 years. And i dunno, shameless self promo's but I have been featured in Computer world, SC Magazine, Sci-Tech as well as many other publications and online press for my discoveries of malware in sites such as mlb.com, microsoft, com, msn and bing.com and my comments on exploit campaigns/recent threats which makes me the security "pundit". I am not fond of throwing that type of crap in the air but was hoping it may help prove my tech street cred so to speak and help my white list pass.

So i just wanted to let you know, I know what I am doing....most of the time  Grin and if I don't I have no qualms researching first and THEN asking, I have just found it hard to stay logged in for that full 4 hours as most of my posting is during small breaks at work. Anyway, a white listing would be greatly appreciated, if not ill try to pass the newbie restrictions on my own.

White Listing Resume  Cheesy

Co-Founder of the Ct2600 group 1997-2003 which became known as NESIT(mainly due to LEO harassment), you can find more about my buddies who still run the wonderful HackerSpace in Connecticut at Nesit.org
Member of Fale Association of LockSport Enthusiasts - Lockfale.com
I've helped run lock picking villages at Security B-sides in Vegas, Raleigh ISSA, Defcon and CarolinaCon.
Assisted in the Setup as well as having monitored and participated in numerous Capture the Flag events at hacker conferences.
Bunch of certs i don't feel mean jack to BTC, why mention em? I dunno to prove I just might be qualified to talk knowledgeably on the subjects discussed here, not a spamming d-bag etc.
Monitored, configured and have utilized BTC in numerous ways such as mining from home, pooled mining with others, numerous testnet setups and configurations and a lot of disassembling botnet's to obtain miscreant miner's details to have them 86'd from their respective pools, I have also created pattern matching in our own customer IDS/IPS signatures for many bitcoin miners so they flag as a threat only when modifications are present for example zeroaccess or programs made to run a certain Java miner in the backround silently with their worker credentials.

I can haz post? <3

Thanks for reading my verbose request and I hope to be properly interacting with this lovely community soon. I appreciate the opportunity to "expedite" my white listing.

If you have a need to be allowed into the forum beyond before you have completed the required 5 posts and 4 hours logged in, please post your request here. You must provide evidence that shows that you either understand more about Bitcoin than the average newbie, or that what you want to post can only be done in another forum. Reasons such as "I'm not a spammer" will be ignored. Try to be as specific as possible.

If you learned of Bitcoin through a currently established member of this forum who feels that you are ready to be released to the rest of the forum or who is willing to mentor you, or if you want to make a new account that is separate from your already-existing established forum account, have the existing user/account vouch for you after you have made your request.

If you are asking to be whitelisted because you are having a problem with something, we generally look more favorably on people who have already attempted to solve their issue in the Newbie board. Even if you end up not qualifying for preemptive whitelisting, your post might still qualify for being moved to another board if you have received insufficient help after a few hours.

Also:
- You must have made one post in order to send PMs.
- You need 10 posts to put a link in your signature.

Please note: If you see "Jr. Member" by your name, you have already met the 5 posts and 4 hour requirements and don't need to post here. Additionally, after you meet the requirements, it can take up to 10 minutes for your account to be automatically upgraded.
