I only found this forum because I was looking for a place to do a currency exchange, so I am finding it difficult to make 5 meaningful posts in this here.  "WTT this for that" - done.  If only it was that easy.

I guess it makes sense for people who have serious (or potentially serious) involvement with Bitcoins though.  And I must admit I've learned a lot during the first few hours of this forced waiting period, like where Bitcoins come from (where babies come from?)...not that I needed to know.

1 down, 4 to go I guess. This seems kind of silly, encouraging users to just kinda bs post their way out of newbie status.
Also doesn't it make sense that this just hurts legitimate people... people aren't patient... however if a bot was programmed correctly it would wait the required amount of time to post legitimate looking posts in the newbie section until it had full status...  Then go to the full forums and do it's spamming.

It's like us legitimate people need a bot just to get us a legitimate status...

4 hours AND 5 posts.  I don't really have that much to say!

As a newbie I'll have at least four hours worth of reading to do anyhow. Thanks!

I despise useless posts, but in order to post in other more worthwhile threads, I do need my get-out-jail-card here.  So here it is..  Sad

First time I've seen a forum where newbies have to post in order to get out of the sandbox.

I've already forgotten the thread I signed up to post in ;(
seems a little counter-intuitive doesn't it Smiley

Yes, yes it does....  Here I am making up posts just so I can post in a topic that is locked Sad   Hopefully I'll get there in the end...

is that 4 hours in one session or overall?

Newbie restrictions are necessary to keep back the hoard of scammers. Well done.

This is a good idea, to filter out scammers and trolls. THanks for trying to keep the community afloat.
