I'm here for quite some time already. Do I have to post a ton of meaningless stuff on Newbies forum, in order to be able to say something in the main one? :-/

How come e.g. user mentore (https://bitcointalksearch.org/user/mentore-79953) has Newbie status but can post on a thread outside the Newbie-section: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.1518796

Such users have been whitelisted.

Although this is very good to prevent spamming and scams, I think the support forum still should be open..

all i want to do is leave feedback for a vendor that sold me coins, this way of not allowing people to post replies seems counter productive, i've done a few trades with the person but never bothered to leave feedback because it just seems such a pain. I understand if you can't start topics but not being able to reply to anything is a bit over the top surely?

you only need one post to send pm's right? i'm trying to message a guy but when i hit "send" it just takes me right back to my profiles messaging info, with nothing in my outbox. are my messages being sent at all?

Check your new message page, you may spot a little checkbox, that explains everything.
