You have to stop doin' that to your equipment.. it's pointless, the only thing you can gain is a brocken laptop

It's more suited when you're mostly using your cpu than your GPU.
You'll mine litecoins (essentially a simpler version of bitcoint with a different design objective than bitcoin) which can be exchanged for bitcoin.

Seems like a good idea for me. Means as a newbie myself I can get an idea of who to trust myself, without having to read between the lines..
I wish these restrictions had been a bit clearer when I signed up a month ago, oh well.

Mainly signed up to get access to the ignore button, waited really long with signing up here, because of these newbie restrictions.
It is a useful restriction, but annoying...

I understand the need of making some kind of rules but wouldn't be easier to ban the problem posters?

Due to a mass of trolling, only established posters are able to post in non-newbie sections. You are considered "established" if you have spent 4 hours online and have made 5 posts (new topics or replies).
If you have really good posts, you can post a request for preemptive whitelisting in the appropriate topic.
Also:
- You must have made one post in order to send PMs.
- You need 10 posts to put a link in your signature.
Note that it may take up to 10 minutes for your PM or posting permissions to be granted. (The system automatically checks every 10 minutes and promotes people as appropriate.)

Understandable and fair. Spammers are beyond annoying. Good job.
