The total required login time is 4 hours, 4 long hours.... and many minutes aren't counted?? Someone should fix the total time logged in timer.

Tbh this just makes people have to spam these threads in order to post.

Well, at least the faucets have been working better here in mid-August. Anf these restrictions are a little confusing...

I know, but that's what Firefox' autoreload add-on was made for. Doesn't cost me any effort.

Just saying: You're the only legal forum I know with this kind of restrictions. Short on mods much? Also I think it highly encourages very low quality posts here just to get the initial 5 posts and be granted full access.

you still need to lurk for 4 hours, and this whole website is very lightly and fairly moderated, it fits with the whole freedom thing.

Yeah 4 hours online to get to the information I came for is a pain in the ass, but I can absolutely respect what they are trying to do. I just wish somebody with the right creativity will come along and figure out a better solution to the trolling problem. Hmm maybe I need to ponder harder on it myself...

So although I'm a newbie, after reading on these forums for awhile I found a post I wanted to reply to.

Then found out I can't reply do to the restrictions. There has to be a better way.

My current need is to reply to a specific post, I do not have anything I want to do right now.

So I'm forced to create 5 empty posts (this is #1). Again there has to be a better way.

It's good that there are restrictions but if i have to post 5x to be released from the restrictions and i can only post here i'm going to have to make 5 posts here. I'll spread them out timewise. Hopefully nobody actually reads this thread. I apologize in advance if my upcoming 5 messages irritate anyone.

I'm not sure I understand the time limit. My counter says only 2 hours and 25 minutes, but I'm sure I've been logged on far longer than that.

Due to a mass of trolling, only established posters are able to post in non-newbie sections. You are considered "established" if you have spent 4 hours online and have made 5 posts.

If you have really good posts, you can post a request for preemptive whitelisting in the appropriate topic.

Also:
- You must have made one post in order to send PMs.
- You need 10 posts to put a link in your signature.

Note that it may take up to 10 minutes for your PM or posting permissions to be granted.

fair enough.

Except now I have to make empty messages of content to get those 5 posts created so i can really post where i want hah...

On the other hand, it took me 2 months to figure out why I can not post...

Law of unintended consequences...
