This is only a demo version...

You can read all of the forum except the staff section, you just can't post anywhere else but the newbie section.  The best way to set up with pool mining is to go to one of the websites operated by one of the pools.  Use your google-fu with "bitcoin mining pool" and you will find a number of them.  Their own FAQs are the most relevant to your goal.

Anything else to pay attention to other than being respectful, I'm just trying to ge help on making money with bitcoins and all of that jazz

Not really, just common sense.  Don't be rude.  Don't advertise in other people's threads.  Don't spam the forum with too many of your own threads.  Those kind of things.

Due to a mass of trolling, only established posters are able to post in non-newbie sections. You are considered "established" if you have spent 4 hours online and have made 5 posts.

If you have really good posts, you can post a request for preemptive whitelisting in the appropriate topic.

Also:
- You must have made one post in order to send PMs.
- You need 10 posts to put a link in your signature.

Note that it may take up to 10 minutes for your PM or posting permissions to be granted.

Unfortunately this forum doesn´t support syntax highlighting, so space is replaced by s, tab with t an l stands for linefeed.

Could not agree more with this policy.

Heck, even 12 or 24h wouldn't hurt... Some people really should learn to read before posting.

(Btw, i've been reading the forums for a few days, just registered today)

There's no worng in the policy, if for the benefit of everybody.

Sounds like a good policy.  I've noticed fewer trolls on these boards than most I've been on over the years.

Spent some time confused by this. Maybe you can add an announcement in the main board or have it show in the registration page?

Looking forward to post in other sections.

Four hours can go by pretty quick just browsing around the newbie section. I'm not just new to this forum, I'm new to the whole concept of "bitcoins". It hasn't even been accepted by my spellchecker!

Though, I must admit, I have always found the term "newbie" somewhat derogatory. I can understand the need for a certain catch-all term, but I have rarely seen "newbie" used in a positive way. It is the techworld's new millennium alternative to the high-school gibe, "virgin".

I was able to post a long time ago before this restriction went into effect and disabled my ability. Oh well as long as it fights the spamers.

5 posts is easy, but 4 hours online?

I suppose a four hour restriction is a better way to stop spammers and such, because like you said: posts are easy to get, and if it was only based on posts they could just insta spam the newbies-section and move to other areas.
