You could, actually. A donation to the operating costs of this forum is a fine way to prove that you're not a bot, but it presumes that you, as a newbie, actually have any bitcoins to donate.
True, and as I only have 0.0105 BTC, it doesn't really matter, does it?

Also I have a question: why isn't there an email confirmation? This information about posting only into newbies section could be also in the email so people would more likely see it...
1) email confirmations can be automated, so they no longer prevent bots.
2) the culture of this forum is one that favors high degrees of personal privacy, so an email address is not really required.

Allright would it be a big problem to stop making fools of newcomers and actually display some instructions about this newbie policy when somebody registers to forum? It is very confusing when you register, get immediatelly into forums without any activation email and then you just desperatelly look for "new topic" button which is simply missing. Unfortunatelly there is not a word about this in a help section, so this is quite impolite to say the least if one needs help with something and hopes to get it on this forum but gets just frustrated instead until he finds out that he can only write into newbies section. Thank you for understanding.
During registration you were required to check a box labeled "I understand that I will initially be unable to post to most forum sections, as explained above." Maybe I should change it to "I promise to give bitcointalk.org 1000 BTC and my first-born child" and see how many people agree to it...
Allright I admit that I did not really put too much thinking into that sentence while registering. I really needed support, so I was in a hurry and overlooked it. But as you can see I am not the only one who has problem with this (and I don't have so much time to waste it on posting useless posts to forums), so please read my suggestion again and address what I ask for. Please just update the Help section of the forum with this rule so people can find it and avoid frustration. Thank you very much if it is possible.

I don't mind these rules. Four hours and five posts is a small price to pay.
I understand that spammers are not welcome on the forum. but these rules are quite annoying for new users. i hope they are effective. it seems so, because i don't see a lot of spam.
