It is out there but I don't think it's the kind of thing you can just ask around about. You'll have to dig and I've been digging along with a researcher person I hired part time. Someone here may be right but it's beyond speculative. That said, if you can find a coin with a committed team, willing to do the things that drive a coin, you've got a good chance for very sizable returns. The lower the market cap, the more room to grow of course.
On the high end, the company that could go 100x is OMG. It's a massively potent undertaking with an all star line-up. No ICO, came funded by pedigreed venture capital and was an existing business prior to the coin. Helping 2.5 billon unbanked population is an economy unto itself and 4.5 billion are considered underbanked. It's a great space.
Above 100mm but- Factom has room to grow. A lot. Not sexy but efficient headed up by former MS honcho. It's a long hold though.
BNB- Binance's coin that's an odd reflection of the exchange itself. Top pick to go moon soon. 100x? No, maybe, who knows? It's an odd one. Most people can't quite calculate the value of the coin although I saw a person on Reddit try. I don't think the market cap is reflective of the actual cap because it's about the utility of the coin which is hard to define. Binance is now doing ICOs on their site and they accept BNB as payment. 100x would be crazy but it could go NEO in a NY minute.
In the under 100mm market cap group.
I've owned FUN or Funfair for awhile now. It can not go 100x. It's got 3 billion coins and a phase 2 where they'll likely burn a bunch of tokens but have the option to release 14 billion more. I think it's a great coin but 100x would make it a 10 billion market cap. Online gambling is currently around 40 billion and there is no way on God's green earth they'll have 25% market ownership when they are a couple of players that own most of it. I think it's a great buy but it's a platform that casinos will lease. No sports betting, no poker. Let's get real.
There are others in this arena but I don't feel like writing too much. This is already going to be a lot.
Sub 50mm
TRST was recommended once in here and I completely agree. Have done the due diligence on it and the expression in venture capital is, "invest in people, not ideas." It's a very good team and a great idea.
SAFEX- I'm an unapologetic fan of Daniel Dabek. I think he's a winner. He's just not a CEO and shouldn't be. Dude is a developer and a leader. I own the coin, feel bad for having sold it for a profit and feel bad it's not doing well now. Project got knocked on the balls of it's ass and he reorganized the company and changed the direction. Almost like the Amazon story. Sold 1% of the company on Bittrex for nothing. Has his own money in the game. Fired the problem children of the organization, moved to Serbia to have a better, cost effective team. Bought 15btc worth of his own coin a month ago. Ready to throw 80btc he has in savings into the project. I also think he's a great problem solver and can't help but root for him. Winners always have skin in the game and he's got money on the line, not like most of the softer than baby shit ico trust fund. Safex is likely no one's pick, almost reason enough to take a closer look. If it was known or consensus expected it to rise, it would already be priced accordingly.
OAX- tremendous team, no formal launch until Q2 2018 has this coin going lower. It should get a good spike any day now but it's dropped. Expect big things. Easy 10x potential in the near future and if they deliver, look out.
There are others and I'm looking into one now that's a real sleeper. Not ready to share just yet but will. Not that I'm holding out.
SHIFT- On sentiment alone, this is worth a look. I don't profess to know enough about decentralized internet to comment specifically, but I can tell you Filecoin (which someone in this thread compared it to) raised 185mm in under an hour from accredited investors only. Made me sick. I Shift kicks the shit out of Filecoin and that the headstart is enough.
As far as the really low cap, the next Stratis, I will remain tight lipped. Conjecture and speculation is one thing, outright guessing is another.
That's my 3 cents.
Cheers
very informative man, thanks for sharing your ideas, I also track weTrust project and think of it as my long term holdings. OAX may need more research, recently performed very well. I agree that the people are the most important reason why a project is successful
