Chiefs made that one against the Broncos to close near the end as Denver was about to score to take the lead. But Mahomes and crew showed why they are playoff bound with good defensive blocks in the end.
Dak Prescott just annihilated the eagles having a career best 5 passing touchdowns in the game.
The matches only get better here on in.

Finally, we have some NFL action this Saturday going for both favorites Cowboys + Chiefs @1.80, I think these two teams need to end their last match with a win if they want to keep their current seed and possibly move up from the standings depending on how the other matches play out. There's a chance the Cowboys get a second seed but the chances are very slim as it requires an upset from another team.

Edit: That was a close one from the Chiefs, the moneyline shot up to plus odds for a good moment during the 4th quarter and luckily Broncos fumbled the ball and Chiefs was able to convert it to a touchdown.

Two matches going on today with the first being Denver vs Kansas City.
Here is the link as the match begins in about an hour:
https://sportsbet.io/sports/event/american-football/usa/nfl/denver-broncos-vs-kansas-city-chiefs-61d1090eab9506e85396d4c6
So you still have time to place your bets for it.
The next one is Philadelphia vs Dallas as this one should be a banger from the way the cowboys have been playing with Dak Prescott.
https://sportsbet.io/sports/event/american-football/usa/nfl/philadelphia-eagles-vs-dallas-cowboys-61d107c0a4e1ed40d2f351cf
This one has a later start time as there usually aren't many matches on Saturday night in the NFL.

I went with the Cleveland Browns just like ralle14 did but was disappointed with the way Mayfield was playing with those interceptions, passes swatted down and getting sacked by T.J Watts really defined the evening for him.

Steelers really owned the game and to have Roethlisberger shine infront of the home crowd made it a good night in Pittsburgh.

I would like to see either Green Bay or Pittsburgh make it to the Superbowl,
You were lucky to get them at the odds you did @buwaytress so hoping to see either of them in there to get that win.

From 8.5 to 4.6 nice catch and best of luck, that'd be a nice hedge opportunity if they reach the finals.

Today we have another tricky matchup as the Steelers still have a chance to qualify if they win while the Browns already missed their chance but at the same time this would be a good chance to crush Steeler's playoff chances. Steelers might be the pick at first glance but i'll go with the Browns @2.20 as I see value in them knowing they have a good running game while the Steelers have one of the worst run defense.

Yeah, the best case scenario for me would be to have 2 picks left in the last legs (I'm still trying to figure out how this all works but it seems that there will be 4 final playoff teams right? Then it'd be a perfect way to hedge in a big way to guarantee some kind of payout.

Steelers won quite convincingly too, Roethlisberger's final home game perhaps? Now it looks like they need to get past the showdown with Ravens on Sunday, and then I'll have Steelers and Packers in with a shout heh. Bookies only trimmed their odds by 20% though, so clearly an outsider.

Dolphins also eliminated boo... so I only have 3 tickets left alive.

Steelers @91 > 251 > 201
Dolphins @251 151
Patriots @8 > 17
Seahawks @251
Packers @8.5 > 4.60

According to Sportsbet.io odds right now, these are the latest odds. Struck out odds were from a month ago. Seahawks out of playoffs, so I got 4 picks left alive including the favourites right now: Packers, hey!

Packers @8.5 4.60

Think it was genesis and didn't even know he was a coach until I seen him doing commentary on the weekend NFL games.

Yeah I mentioned it was in the 1990s and on Sega Megadrive (Genesis for you folks in the US). And when they made all those bootleg "compilations" or you see the UK gaming magazines, Madden always always always made it on the list.

Huge Packers win last night so it's great news for me, thought it's time for a nice update on my outright picks for MLB winner:

Steelers @37.3
Dolphins @34
Patriots @34
Seahawks @25.2
Packers @14.2

The matches today will likely shape how the final table looks like come the playoffs.
I am staying away from these matches(as ralle14 had mentioned "It is getting tricky" to predict who will win these matchups.
So I am only looking at the Chiefs game as the Bengals will likely get massacred by the way Mahomes have been playing.
Will be going for another stellar performance and taking him to pass over 305.5 yards if that is at play on a betbuilder.

Only about two more hours to put in your bets on the majority of the matches being played early on today:

It's getting a bit tricky as the spreads are so high this week but I like the Raiders +9.5 vs Colts, both teams still fighting for the playoffs spot and I think the Raiders will be needing the win more so i'm expecting this to be a close match. I know it's not a good idea to depend on teams that have more stake in the match but I just think that 9 points are a lot and the only time the Colts won by 9 or more was against the Jets, Jags, and Patriots.

First time I actually saw who the man was, from a video game box in the store:

Think it was genesis and didn't even know he was a coach until I seen him doing commentary on the weekend NFL games.
He was good at everything that he did and it is fitting there is no Thursday night football this week.
So to give the fans a break for the loss of a great icon to the game of football.
The New York Times just published an article about how he made his name so recognizable to the world of the gaming consoles.

He wasn't so much of a hero as he was an icon.  He was a legendary Monday night football announcer and was the face and voice of football for such a long time.  And like you said throw in the gaming industry and madden football and you have a legend.  Some people are just bigger than the game itself and madden was one of those guys.

Fun fact, he never flew anywhere because he was claustrophobic, he drove a tricked out bus across the country every week.

Yeah, to the point even a non-NFLer would know his name (myself the prime example). Madden's not a big title anymore these days though, just asked my kid and he has no idea who that is.

Claustrophobia, makes sense for a guy used to an open playing field. Reminds me of Bergkamp who had a fear of flying, so he just didn't even get named in Champions League games.

Yeah this was a pretty sad loss to the world of NFL football. Madden has been mostly known for his announcing, and “off the beaten path” announcing, but he was also a legendary coach. I believe he had a 75% winning percentage for his career. Also kids definitely know who he is if they like sports and video games

Sorry to interrupt the discussions but just read that John Madden's passed away.

Now I know zero about American football (okay maybe this season I've been reading up a little) but even from the 1990s, playing Sega Megadrive (Genesis) or reading UK games mags, you couldn't escape from hearing about the Madden titles. Long before FIFA (or Winning Eleven) churned out their sports titles, you had Madden. The title on those compendium games I just never even bothered to open yet with a face so recognisable.

Hero for any of you guys? Rest in peace, nevertheless, icon.
It was surprising news to hear early yesterday for me when I saw it on the news.
Because they just had a film broadcasted Christmas day on paying tribute to him for all that he has done for the football world, then a few days later this happens.
https://www.foxsports.com/presspass/latest-news/2021/12/02/fox-sports-celebrates-football-legend-john-madden-christmas-day-original-documentary-madden

So now they have had to make a film so to commemorate him on his life accomplishes in the football world.

He will sorely missed for certain. RIP John Madden.

@rdbase. I was not arguing about their results on the last 5 games, you are correct on that. I was only arguing that the Cardinals are not a lowly team. They are only going through a rough period in the regular season similar other good teams. However, I speculate this might change during the post season if they are lucky not to be vs. Brady and the Buccaneers in the wild card round hehehe.

Come on, the Cardinals have been really bad in the last 5 games.
I think I have bet on all of them and had them to win just to be disappointed in their performance.
Missed passes, missed field goals and missed extra points not to mention the penalties galore.

The Cowboys last game on the other hand was the match of the 2021 season so far. Which they face Arizona in their next match.
With them scoring 59 points and Dak Prescott broke records that night.
I thought the Chiefs game was one to watch and the best of the week. But that game was one to remember.
Week 18 is the finale of the season so get your bets in for the final round before the playoffs.

The Colts made it look easy with their win against the a lowly Cardinals team which just can not win a game at their home stadium.
I think that is 4 games in a row there without a W.

I am on the Chiefs for today as the EPL took all my watching time before the earlier matches started.
Mahomes with an over 305+ yard passing performance is in the cards for this match as they just seem to keep scoring in their last three matches.
So expect no different boxing day.

It is very arguable to call the Cardinals lowly. They have clinched their place to play in the post season already. They have also lead their division for much of this season. However, yes they have been having some problems in their last 3 games. It can be argued that those losses versus the Rams and the Colts are okay. But they should never lose against the Lions hehe.

In any case, the Cardinals has a chance to win the division if they win the last 2 games and the Rams lose 1 game of 2.

Good call on selecting the Raiders for that nearly double odds to go green!
That was a great decision on picking the Cowboys on the -6.5 line because they are 21-0 and it is just the 1st quarter. Also with the Washington QB throwing an interception for his first attempt in the game didn't look good at all.
It was frustrating to see the Raiders score the first touchdown then go down 7-13 due to turnovers but good thing the Broncos struggled to convert anything in the second half.

I'm surprised with the way Cowboys dominate that division match and hopefully, their momentum carries on next week as they face the Cardinals.

As for the MNF i'm rolling with the Dolphins -2.5 @1.70, I must say the Saints defense is a bit worrying based on their last two wins but at the same time it's hard to go against a Dolphins team that's on a 6 win streak.

And Lawrence just got a pick 6 to drive it into the end zone after running for 40 yards.
Dak Prescott is already at 128 yards in passing and I think my props bet I placed for him to get over 282.5 the entire game @1.82x will hit quite easily.
