Calvin Ridley, popular receiver for the Atlanta Falcons have been suspended from the entire 2022 season for gambling on NFL games. Previously the league last suspended a player for gambling in 2019. Josh Shaw, a cornerback for the Arizona Cardinals, placed a bet against his team while he was sitting out on injured reserve. He was suspended for the entire 2020 season and was reinstated by the league last year. Following the suspension of Calvin Ridley there were more memes around.

Some several days have gone by and there were other crypto-related commercials that had QR codes hidden.
The one with lebron james had one where if you scanned it could get you entry into a raffle for an nft on their platform shown below:

Don't think it still works as I hadn't tried it.
Another sharp eye on reddit caught a seed phrase in several spots during the same commercial if paused:

Only one I missed was Tom Brady in that FTX commercial but since he wasn't in this years Superbowl they ran it with Larry David instead.

Coindesk did a run of those ads days later after the Superbowl was done and their effectiveness.

Seems that the one with the least flashing lights took it with over 20 million hits on their site within a minute of it being run.

Alot of crypto influenced ads were played during the game but the half time show was the real success for the crowd who witnessed it live.
With all the big names on hand and a surprise appearance by 50 cent which wasn't announced to perform.
Is there a place to see which crypto ads actually appeared? I don't mind watching some of these US ads -- they tend to be funny. Not as crazy or memorable as Thai ads, which are downright wacko, but not bad anyway.

It would've been sick if those odds actually hit.  Grin

Next season I'm going for another 5 outright, this time though I'm going to put in ONE team with odds over 100. Anyway, finally saw all my outright settle yesterday. Been having 5 bets yet to settle cluttering my "My Bets" page -- nice they also gave me an instant Clubhouse boost haha.

See you at 58th everyone.
On youtube of course. Every ad displayed during the game can be viewed there.
Coinbase was the one everyone was talking about since it was just a QR code going back and forth just like on an old dvd player. Where it eventually crashed the site.
So it caused posts on twitter saying "coinbase doing coinbase things causing coinbase to crash".
FTX, etoro and crypto had theres.

As it ends the LA Rams won to complete the LA Story.
Alot were on the Bengals including myself because at those odds it was hard not too and Burrows was known for comebacks from most of their wins during the season. But not this night. They kept it clean all game long without committing a foul but within the last 2 minutes they had done the most costly one at the goal line with a hold. At that time you knew the momentum swung in favors of the Rams.
I must say both teams have their ups and downs, at the same time it seems like live betting was the play when you see the odds of both teams swinging up to 3.00 at one point. Stafford making some crucial mistakes which caused the Bengals to take the lead then their D line getting some huge sacks to compensate. It felt like refs bailed them out in the end though, with the two consecutive DPIs at the 4th quarter.  Luckily, I also took the Bengals spread and recovered a bit from my match winner bet.

@ralle14 Bengals were 125/1 at the start of the season, wish I'd had the wisdom to pick them *sobs* and they're the keen underdogs here so I might end up putting a freebet or two on them.

The Gatorade color prop seems tempting, I kind of want to take orange but it'll probably end up being blue or clear.

Anyway, I got the Bengals to win @2.75 might add another bet for Bengals +4.5 since I really like the spread now that it moved a bit on their side. I must say it's also tough to bet against the Rams but if they continue to make mistakes just like what happened against the 49ers then we could see the Bengals catapult themselves to a Superbowl win.

Can't believe I'm actually reading more and more about this Superbowl. Even the BBC is covering it quite a bit, 3 articles on landing page. Here's a bit of background on why crypto ads will dominate: https://www.bbc.com/news/av/world-us-canada-60356210

An ominous word of caution though, a SB spot doesn't always guarantee commercial success Wink

Enjoy the game, those watching!

Thanks for putting the link up to the Superbowl Specials.
Those are a wide variety of selections to choose from and the WR & RB are different from year to year due to the teams which are in the SB. Smiley
Just go with the QB as those are usually the MVP most of the time if they have a stellar game. ie. More passing yards and higher number of touchdowns.

The commercials being aired are mostly about crypto so keep an eye out for those.

Quite a few pretty looking specials on Sportsbet for Superbowl LVI, and if you take a boost every day, you can up the odds and get some good value:
https://sportsbet.io/sports/sportsbet-specials/daily-specials/super-bowl-special/matches

My thinking the best value bet here is 18/10++ on "Who does MVP thank first" market. Surely, his teammates, right?

Quarterback to win MVP... seems good value at 14/10++ . From history, 1 in 3 MVPs is a QB... What are WBs and RBs listed on ESPN as past winners? As the other betting options are wide receivers, running back fullbacks, and defensive players.

I am favoring the Bengals because I really would like to see Burrow win it and putting the underdogs as champions.
Less than a week away so really close to see the game and those famous commercials.

Nice read, rdbase, and yeah, I knew Super Bowl was big -- it's always mentioned in movies and film -- but it's still pretty ridiculous to get ticket prices that high. Average of 8500 per ticket? Is there no backlash from fans? You hear Arsenal fans complaining about tickets, I've to say even Man United tickets which I bought for a kid were priced way out of his earning range, and that was a regular weekend footie against a midtable team.

Anyway, don't forget to check out the Sportsbet Multimaster -- $100,000 cash prize for 10 yes/no Rams/Bengal questions. Easy, right? Haha.

Superbowl ticket prices are very insane as one article I was reading said just one seat could get you a box seat at dodgers stadium for all 81 games.
That is how much these are selling for and well... It is in Los Angles so they can price them at these celebrity prices and people will still buy them just for the half-time show.

Here is a screenshot of another article describing how much they are pricing them at:

Congrats on the prediction win, I got the first match correct but I failed on the Bengals as I got too confident on the Rams thinking they'd win by a touchdown.

Yeah, thanks! I'm not sure now if I've got a good record in that line of predictions, but the way this season has been going, at least closer to the playoffs, it's been tight wins for the favourites or huge upsets -- and that theme continued. Perhaps it's also the way my mind works, I don't like betting on Asian Handicap more than just to avoid a draw situation so wide spreads look very unattractive to me. So much stakes too for all teams.

P.S. I just saw the massive massive prices for tickets... and rdbase explained elsewhere to me why they're so expensive. I had no idea! Year of the Tiger indeed huh!

For now, i'm leaning on the Bengals, I still think the Rams are the better team but at the same time I feel like they got lucky against the 49ers and maybe include a prop bet on the interceptions as all QBs got an interception yesterday.
I am liking the Bengals chances more and more now. Burrows is hard to bet against as I seen some stat right after their Kansas City match that he was 7-0 in post season including his NCAA record which is fairly amazing to deny.
And why not go with them this year even if it is in LA. After all..
It is the year of the Tiger! Wink

That said, this has been a strange season for the NFL and for the NBA as well. The normal skill gap which normally separates players and teams, appears to have narrowed considerably.
I couldn't agree more, some teams get hit by injuries then bookies will quickly shift the odds by a couple of points and once the game is in play you'll see them perform above expectations where it doesn't make much sense.

Another seemingly random outcome to my eyes, but I did count on them both not making their spreads even if they won, so took a nice slice of the freebet action on jeremypwr's prediction thread, so a happy camper here!

Both underdogs covered again , when the Chiefs were up big I knew it's not over as their defense tends to loosen up in the second half.

To cut down on injuries, teams apply the bare minimum needed to win. Then coast to preserve their player's health.

Kansas City has such a powerful and overwhelming offense. Their defensive line is prone towards falling asleep thinking its ok if they lose focus, their offense will bail them out.

Chiefs might have peaked in their game with the buffalo bills and began celebrating too early. They didn't prepare for the bengals the way they would if they were facing a bigger name team. They probably thought they would defeat the bengals easily and be in superbowl 2022 guaranteed.

All of these failings combined can converge to form the perfect storm necessary for underdogs to overcome the odds.

Rough day for those picks.  Honestly, I would have chosen the same.  I didn't watch anything but highlights from the Bengals and Chiefs, but I used to date a girl from Kansas City and she left a lasting impression on me, so I never bet against KC.  Smiley

A person of culture. I have something of a similar nature here, except that because of my lasting impression, I make an occasional bet on the country the girl came from (New Zealand) on football. It was a weird period where Flight of the Conchords was running, and I had a personal run-in with the prime minister too heh.

On the other match, it's the battle of the defense, I feel like the 49ers should've had that win instead of the Rams but their defense pulled through late in the fourth getting crucial stops then that INT from Jimmy at the end to seal the deal.

For now, i'm leaning on the Bengals, I still think the Rams are the better team but at the same time I feel like they got lucky against the 49ers and maybe include a prop bet on the interceptions as all QBs got an interception yesterday.
