Please let me know your thoughts, I want this to be done right and sit well with everyone. We have more info. coming this weekend also.

Edit: One final note, while our movement and marketplace will being to work together with other coins, our charitable and humanitarian work based on the marketplace sales will always be donated in NobleCoin. Commerce for all, while our movement and website informs. on cryptocurrency charities and promotes international philanthropy in NobleCoin.

I think it is a good idea. In my opinion ALL cryptos need to work together otherwise the whole concept of crypto will fail. We can't always be fighting between ourselves, we need to be rallying against banks and governments and to be focusing on the image of cryptos with the general public.

Accepting other coins on the marketplace should help to further raise the image of noble as a community coin and hopefully drum up some camaraderie.

Agreed. Good idea Rofo. We are looking forward to what this means for our community.

Thanks man I may send you a PM here in the next week when we get close to the 1 billion mark. We could do another one on reddit but with more coins. People always love free coins!

NobleCoin will be actively and promoting working together with other coins and communities that we feel show true passion and dedication if they are also interested. The state of cannibalism and finger-pointing we’re in is destroying the alternative cryptocurrency scene. We’re not talking UNOCS, although we wouldn’t shy away from such an idea, but we’re at least talking shared resources, ideas, merchants and charities. We think the idea of ‘coins working together’ at this point needs to be considered again, albeit more cautiously, in order to return some semblance of teamwork and respect to the scene.

We’re also currently considering accepting more coins on the NobleCoin Marketplace to allow other communities to trade and buy if they so desire, but that comes once bullion licensing, self-managed stores and bidding sections are implemented. It will also only be considered if it is welcomed and embraced by the developers, representatives and communities of other coins. We are offering it in a spirit of good-will and teamwork between coins, however there are still competitive elements to such actions and we don’t want others to feel like we are ‘cutting in on their action’, especially considering the 12% discounts on our marketplaces aimed towards NobleCoin users. Ultimately we’re working towards improving the prospects and values of all coins working together as a ‘unified front’ working outwards towards mainstream is far more desirable than independent coins looking inwards cannibalizing one another.

In light of our long-term plans we have been approached by a number of communities from other coins in the spirit of teamwork and, hopefully in the future, sharing resources, merchants, development and services in some form or another. We will be accepting Diamond from this point onwards at the marketplace to gauge the reaction of multiple communities and if/how we can begin to benefit by acting in a more united sense rather than as 'armed camps'.

Some things to note:
- NobleCoin will always be prioritized and receive the 12% discount, other coins will have to help with particular promos if they want
- This is being done to draw attention to the NOBL marketplace as a service and hopefully (in the spirit of goodwill) draw some more community and NOBL supporters our way, as many people support more than one coin
- New coins or sales do not take away our time from focusing on NobleCoin - we will probably only get 1 or 2 extra sales a week
- In light of any transparency concerns, we will be publishing the amounts of each coin taken in sales (if in doubt, perhaps CoinPayments will be happy to confirm totals, I'm not sure)
- Longer-term, more sales helps me run the marketplace on a personal level as it does cost time and money
- We are working towards a more 'united' approach where coins working together in some way or another benefits both parties more so than if we didn't accept them/work together whatsoever. There are a lot of genuine cryptocurrency supporters out there, and by reaching out and offering our services we're hoping to see some love back our way.

I'm hoping this doesn't raise too many eyebrows nor seem like I am turning the marketplace into something purely to benefit myself. We have an ABN listed, personal details and soon second-hand license for bullion, and will be publishing our profit/lass statements for tax time so that we can continue to show we're not just in this for ourselves.

If we show everyone who is interested that we're happy to work with them, we're betting we will be seeing more merchants, community members, services, and votes our way back in appreciation. Personally I'm tired of the finger-pointing, 'armed camps' and bickering when we have a whole outside world still waiting to be introduced to cryptocurrencies. We get the feeling a lot of you feel the same.

Hey guys I made a tool a while ago for myself to make CGminer and SGminer scripts with a graphic interface. It's free and I thought one or two of you may use it and give me some feedback  Smiley I have just builds for Windows right now but I can release the linux version or source code if anyone wants it just let me know.

http://www.cryptaxe.com/?page_id=62

Edit: Also I would consider this a BETA, please let me know if you run into any bugs.

Cool!

Will give it a go when I get home

Just had a play with it, seems quite a useful tool for a novice.

I guess an improvement would be to add the ability to change the cgminer.exe file name etc., seeing as they generally aren't just called cgminer.exe any more.

Otherwise I like it, and would have saved me lots of time in the beginning.

Thanks so much for the feedback, I thought selecting between sgminer and cgminer would be enough but you're right there are so many different versions of them now (different kernels even for some weird mining algorithms). I'll work on adding that feature!

On another note, Tweek the reddit tip bot works great. I just withdrew the tips that I had received on the Reddit posts and everything went very smoothly Smiley

do you guys plan to re-do the wallet in the future so that it's less litecoin-like?

thanks for the update!

Yes, lots of changes planned with info. to come when we're ready (like to take our time and do things right). Wink

Heartbleed just kind of forced our hand to release something a little sooner.

Wallet Update (Non-Mandatory - Not a Hard Fork)

Greate! In the vein of non-hard fork updates, could you consider the following?

  • updating RPC interfaces to recent bitcoin one (which has a few more commands, and they provide a bit more info, like in "listunspent")
  • add some checkpoints (Auroracoin added automatic check-pointing recently, could be worth having?)

Also on a completely unrelated matter, there will be 1 billion outstanding Noblecoins in a few days!
