Good day crypto Famz, I will like to ask gamblers this question, is there any gamblers on here that keeps record of their wins and losses? Do you keep a record of all the pennies you use to gamble and also the result?
I don't record my gambling winnings or losses because I don't think it's necessary. I don't think it's important for me to keep any records because I bet freely. If you gamble for financial gain, you must keep records to know the sum of money you are win and the amount you are losing. but, if you gamble only for enjoyment, you are not required to keep any records.

Not keeping records, does this make me a bad gambler?
I don’t know if there is any advantage if a gambler is keeping records, I don’t see any advantage, and not having records does not make you a bad gambler. Just always set a limits for yourself when you are gambling, and don’t exceed it.  always have the amount that you will allocate for gambling, don’t exceed your limit, if you can control your gambling behaviour, then everything is fine and you are not a bad gambler.

Someone whom we both have this discuss yesterday said this is a good practice, I still don't see a reason why because I don't keep record of my losses, I tend to only remember when I win a certain amount, if its good enough you won't easily forget, but apart from this I don't care.

So Famz, is there any benefits when one keeps record on their losses and wins? Is there any thing to gain when you write down all the money you spent in gambling and also how much you have made so far?

If the gambler's only reason is to have fun through entertainment, there is no reason to do what you are saying. Even for gamblers who think it is a source of income, no, they will not do that for sure. First of all, they have no benefit from being blessed by that. Even if you do, you know that you won't get anything from what you say. When you do that, you will only have hostage records, which you can only calculate, but you won't get any profit from that.

It's not because we are employed in a casino where we will play gambling; we as gamblers only aim for most of us, or we usually think that we hope to be lucky enough to win gambling so that we can have a good income here. That's what most people often think of those of us who like to gamble in online casinos.

It depends on the type of record to keep when it comes to gambling discussions like this, what is the benefit of keeping a record that will always bring tears to one's eye if all you had was a perpectual records on losses, there's nothing to encourage one in this than add up to depression because the records aren't enticing to keep, share or see oftentimes, but when we have some outstanding moments with gambling experience, we couldn't wanted to afford loosing these moments with putting them into archive for remembrance, such are good for this purpose and not all we have are disheartening records of losses.

Why do we need to keep our records when we all know that the gambling market changes from time to time. What happens today will be a lot different tomorrow so keeping some records will not be essential at all. Gambling is luck based, and you can’t predict when you will be lucky in gambling, so keeping your records about your losses and gains will not be helpful and won’t change the situation. If you want to minimize your losses, manage your gambling habit and always bet on the amount you can afford to lose.

Pretty much, yes. However it depends what you mean by "bad gambler", if you're just doing it for a bit of fun and fully expect to lose a casual amount of money on a regular basis, sometimes with the odd winning streak, then you are probably taking the right approach. The only reason that logging your bets in that situation would help is if you think you might be spending too much or want to figure out how much variance you've got going on over time. Let's face it though, unless you're trying to engage in an actual career like gambling, you should understand that the odds are heavily weighted against you and even sport bookmakers are only interested in your custom if you are losing money over time, they'll eventually limit your account otherwise.

Not particularly.... You seee, ion even support the fact that you keep gambling records because I think that's another inspiration to wager the more... How?? You're gonna be making references to the old tickets for either correction purposes or anything else.. isn't that just another means to rehabilitate the whole process?..
In the sense of being a professional gambler, that alone would give enough reasons to have your records kept.

A responsible gambler should be able to keep records of his or her gambling routine, activities, expenses and what have you. This record keeping could be done formerly or informally using  a paper and pen or more technological advanced medium out there. There are many apps out there that could help you to keep record of whatever gambling expenses that you are making and people keep records for several reasons you just have to know why you are keeping such gambling records and do it thoroughly. But it does not mean that you are a bad person if you are not keeping a gambling record now the only means that you have to pay close attention to your gambling.

So Famz, is there any benefits when one keeps record on their losses and wins? Is there any thing to gain when you write down all the money you spent in gambling and also how much you have made so far?

Not keeping records, does this make me a bad gambler?

I can't think of any good results of keeping a record from your losses or your wins, except that it will make you realise how much money you have spent in gambling and how money you have lost so far. Outside that, there are nothing you can do about it because all of it are history.
Positive realisations will make you minimize the expenses in gambling, but if you disregard the record then it's better not to keep any record at all lol.
Lastly, not keeping records doesn't make you bad at all, but having records can do you good.
Some could really be able to control themselves even if they are aware on how much they have lost or win on which if this one ends up on negative then for sure there would really be people who would really be minding about recovery of those loses on which it is really that ending up on negative on having those kind of tally on which it shouldn't have done if it were be ending up on making yourself that desperate but somewhat there are people who do really just simply liking on having some track about their spending on which this might be one of the method that makes them aware that they are losing that much and then would completely stop on the time that they would really be reaching out their threshold. We do know that limitation will really vary into a certain individual.

Making records isnt really that bad as long you dont mind about the further actions you should be doing specially on lose recovery because this is the only problem i do see
that it could potentially mess up this kind of plan because if you are aware on how much you have lost then recovery thinking will really be your priority.

We have different ideas and minds, quite a lot to handle. Feeling remorse for your past mistakes each time you turn to these records, it functions as a reminder for the good and terrible moments encountered in gambling, so it's completely irrational to me, and I don't value looking back, perhaps for what reason? I have more steps to take and targets to meet; settling for fewer hours will simply deplete me and remind me of earlier huge losses; I get it now, mistakes are learned and corrected, therefore I'm doing my best to do more efficiently the next time.

The good thing with recording is that you can have your audit anytime without problem.  You can check if you are in green or red.  It is advice that we should make track of our expenditure in order to know the reason if there is a shortage of fund and adjust accordingly.

Not really if you gamble responsibly and only allocate or use funds that is free of any obligations.  What makes a gambler bad is spending irresponsibly using fund that is allocated for family usage.

The closest I have seen is keeping record of the combination played , that is, for those whose specialty is gambling or betting by making predictions against odds, after a particular combination or predictions paid off well, they make a record incase to try it again.

Those that gamble using digital apps might not have a need of manually recording their wins because I believe there's history of games played or gamble made, be it wins or losses.

I do think it is good practice to actually write a record of money spent on gambling, because it would help one make a better budget next time and to know if one is becoming more addicted and spend more attention there.

I don't think it does make you a bad gambler. Everyone of us would like to do what will give them peace of mind, not another way around.

Take for instance a gambler keeping records of his or her losses on gambling. Won't that be heartbreaking, for someone to calculate all the losses made in gambling in a month?

In a nutshell, I haven't seen or heard of any gamblers who keep records of all their losses or wins to gambling. What gamblers do is place their bet on the games they want to bet on, and after betting on them, whether they win or lose, that's it but not take note of how it happens.

No, you should not, it will make you feel disappointed if you find out that you can buy a car with all your losses, you will forget all the excitement and fun because of the disappointment from all your losses and I don't think gamblers have more winnings than their losses.

You cannot list the feeling or the enjoyment you experience in gambling and everything you've enjoyed will vanish if you compute the amount you lose
Paying for something that will bring you fun like going to a movie should not be calculated because you paid to have that, so is the same in gambling, you enjoy the game and you are okay with it so no need to keep records on something you pay to enjoy.
I never met a gambler who keeps a record of what he spent on gambling.

Don't want to do those accounts either, because I was doing them and that was lowering my spirits, so I took care of what I had lost and although it's not much I can recover, but I don't do it anymore because that's what I start chasing those losses and trying to If I get them back, that won't let me play well, so I prefer to have a different control, that when I have money all I do is just play and that's it, if I lose well and if I win too, then there is no way I can do anything to feel better If I go with the numbers it won't help me, and the casinos are very good, I have many games that are good.

Keeping a record is only useful in reminding yourself to take it easy, because otherwise you are going to lose focus of your losses. So I think of it more of a psychologically helpful tool rather than anything else.

Whether or not you decide to keep one is all on you. Having one does not make you a better gambler it just makes you a more responsible one, at most.

Personally, I do not keep any such things. I think that I am way to lazy for that.

@mate, I don't think so. I say that keeping records of your gambling habits, either the ones you win or the ones you lose, does not make you a bad gambler. I also think that keeping records of gambling will only cause emotional pains, mostly when you come across the bets you almost won and the ones you won when you mistakenly bet it with small amount instead of staking it with a large amount of money.

So there are no benefits to keeping records of gambling, as they said, and I think you also believe that gambling is for fun, then why keep records of it? It is just for you to have fun while it lasts.

Keeping a record of all your spending itself a good practice which will help you to realize where and how much money has been spent on something and if you feel the amount spent is too much for you then it can be lowered in future so will help you to free from your monthly budget.

Now talking about myself, I don't because I know I am spending very little on gambling so it's like something negligible amount for me so it can be recorded in the misc expenses but if you are someone who gambles a lot and wants to know how much you are betting then doing it will be a good thing for your finance management.

Its possible that several people have already answered and I'm also not sure whether my answer has been answered by other people. as far as I remember, active gamblers dont have time to record it all and on the one hand, recording all wins, losses and recording all the money used for gambling will only make myself regret because active gamblers tend to keep losing at gambling so they not do this and I myself will never record how many times I bet and how many times I lose because if I look at the record it makes myself regret and my thoughts become complicated.

recording every expense and income from his gambling activities, maybe the positive impact is that he will always be careful not to spend too much money just to gamble and the bad impact is that someone will only be sad for days regretting himself because he has seen the total money he has lost in gambling. but even if you dont record all these things you can not be said to be a bad gambler because we gamble for fun, why should we take notes like its a job?

I don't really take down notes on every gambling session I have. I also never did even when the time I'm still an addict and today where I play for mostly the entertainment I get from gambling. I think that it will just make you overthink if you have some list of wins and losses like if on average you are on a loss, there a chance that you might chase those losses into at least break even which can somehow make you deposit more and gamble more. The mental approach will be different on each of us but I think it's not worth putting extra time in taking notes unless you have a way that you can use it to put more wins on your account.
