Good day crypto Famz, I will like to ask gamblers this question, is there any gamblers on here that keeps record of their wins and losses? Do you keep a record of all the pennies you use to gamble and also the result?

I do track my winnings and losses. Purpose is to know how much I can gamble for the next days or weeks. It helped me limit my losses and maintain my winnings at the same time unlike before when I was just going all out without being conscious of how much I have lost already. In those instances I got too affected by my gambling behavior and in some instances, pushes a gambler to bet more then followed by addiction. We should be using gambling as a way to just kill time but since it involves money then we should be more aware that things won’t work that way.Is it bad not tracking your losses? Yes no doubt. Don’t wait for that moment that you will question yourself where dis your money go and found yourself looking for money just to get back with what you’ve lost out of frustrations. Start it early.

I don't keep a detailed record of such, but I do keep a record of how much money is going out of my wallets every time I gamble or bet on something. It's something that is important more than keeping track of your win/loss IMO. You will be aware of what's happening with your money if you know how much is going towards leisure and 'fun' activities compared to what you really need to live day by day. Not keeping a record of things doesn't make you a bad gambler, it just makes your financial moves bad because you are not making informed decisions by missing a lot of details.

If you intend to gamble for profit or perhaps gamble as a job then keeping a record of all the money you use for gambling is important. By having records, it will be easy for you to calculate your expenses and profits while gambling, and calculate the total profits

However, for me who uses gambling as entertainment, even though it is sometimes stressful if I often lose, I don't think it's necessary. I only gamble if I have money and I am ready if the money I use for gambling runs out

I don't think taking notes when gambling doesn't make you a good or bad gambler, I think bad gamblers are those who spend all their money on gambling without thinking about other consequences when they run out of all that money.

I don’t think keeping records is a must or does it gain an advantage for us gamblers. Simply because gambling is not skill based that the more you are exposed to losses, the more you become better in gambling. Maybe in trading it’s actually a must but in gambling, knowing it’s a kind of thing that aims to entertain us, for me that’s not really important. It’s okay for me to lose because that’s what gambling is all about, making us lose so that all the profits will go direct into the house. Except for lucky gamblers, but for most of us, we all make losses and keeping records of our wins and losses still does not guarantee us to become skilled and profitable gamblers.

I think exactly the opposite you are suggesting. Not keeping records on your money makes you a good gambler, because in my opinion keeping records in your losses and wins makes it easier for you to chase those losses you have recorded in your notebook.  Besides, since the casino is likely to win in the long term, then it will very possible you will stay in negative or red numbers during most of your gambling history, which may encourage you to try to gamble more and with bigger amounts of money, in a reckless way, in order to try to improve your record.

The best approach is the most obvious one, let losses to be forgotten and enjoy the wins your get. That is simpler and more healthy for your mental health.

If you keep records, it may lead to you being hospitalized for a mental issue lol. Why would you want to see how much money you have lost? Most gamblers, that's what they are going to have a record of. If you are a poker player or sportsbetting only, then records would be a good thing, but I wouldn't wanna know my stats for any other sort of gambling.

I guess another way to look at it would be, if you know how much you are losing it may inspire you to quit gambling?

So Famz, is there any benefits when one keeps record on their losses and wins? Is there any thing to gain when you write down all the money you spent in gambling and also how much you have made so far?

Not keeping records, does this make me a bad gambler?
I prefer not keeping records for it's a total waste as it doesn't bring back the losses but rather can make you start nursing a regretting thought whenever you do a check and balance of all the bets you have lost and  how you could have used those money you lost to gambling for some else meaningful which would have yield you a profit.

There's no benefits and that's why the idea sucks. Or if it was that at the end of the year I'll have to give an account to the casino about my losses and wins to be eligible for some bonuses, then the idea would have made a sense keeping the records.

Someone whom we both have this discuss yesterday said this is a good practice, I still don't see a reason why because I don't keep record of my losses, I tend to only remember when I win a certain amount, if its good enough you won't easily forget, but apart from this I don't care.

I don't think many gamblers keep records of the amount they spend on gambling or their winnings from gambling because I don't think it makes much sense in that way. I believe having records of the amount someone has spent on gambling can really lead to depression, which can cause a stable health condition. In other words, it is also a good idea to have records in case you see that you are losing a lot, someone can use records to judge whether to continue or not.

As for me, it was before I was trying to have records of any amount I do spend on gambling every month, so after a season I will now calculate everything together plus my winnings to see whether I lose or gain, but at the end of every season, I always discover that I always at lost, so from there I will be thinking if I had saved that money, I could use it to achieve tangible things by now, so from there I always start regretting myself, so all this later always results in sickness for me, so as I discovered that I always fall sick after seeing all this result all the time, I decided to stop having records about gambling.

Not keeping records, does this make me a bad gambler?

I have a special book to record all my expenses in gambling and the winnings I get in gambling. I did this just to show my curiosity about gambling. Even though gambling is not the place to make a profit, I do this just to find out whether the gambling I have been doing can give me a profit or vice versa a loss.
And after I did this I was able to get the results that the gambling I did could only harm me financially. However, I consider that this is a fair price that I have to pay to get pleasure and excitement.
Having a track isnt really that bad which same as you mentioned that it would really be giving out that kind of track on which you could really be able see whether you are already spending that much or not.
On the time that you do realize that it is already getting out of hand or spending is already that too much then this is the best time that you would really be needing to stop or else then you are spending something which it isnt worth or it would really be just creating out that kind of regret. I do agree on some words on here is that on the time that you do see that you are seeing huge spending or losses then it might really be the cause for you
to play even more because you would really be having plans on trying out to recover it and this is one of the cons on having those kind of trackings or listing about your spending.

If you do find out yourself to be that having that kind of impulsive emotion on which it would really be easily be changed up on the time that you would really be having those kind of insights then
its better not to make out some records because it would really be just that making you desperate and it would be better to have that way on which you should not have that kind of
tracking so that you wont really be always coming back in the past because we know that if we do see huge losses or negative then that kind of urge on trying out to recover would  really be there
and something strong on which not all would really be that having that good control towards themselves.

Do you keep a record of all the pennies you use to gamble and also the result?
I don’t keep record of my gambling results, I don’t see any reason to keep track of them because I believe all my winnings are based on luck so keeping record of it will be of no use. If i lose a bet i only get paranoid and check the game that make me lose so after that i just scroll past it and move on with my life because every game played has different ways you should approach it so it doesn’t matter if you keep record of setled bets.

Someone whom we both have this discuss yesterday said this is a good practice, I still don't see a reason why because I don't keep record of my losses, I tend to only remember when I win a certain amount, if its good enough you won't easily forget, but apart from this I don't care.
You should have asked why he said iit is a good practice and share it with everyone here so if it’s something that would help and something we should also practice we could have done so. I only remember some scenario where i won big amounts or when i win a game I considered as a loss i always remembered such games but other than that i don’t usually remember anything.

Not keeping records, does this make me a bad gambler?
It doesn’t make you a bad gambler in my opinion unless maybe until you are aware of how helpful it can be and you refuse to practice it that’s when i think you should consider yourself a bad gambler.

I think we need to be keeping account of all our winnings because this is the only way we are going to know whether we are making progress or not. Sometimes we would have used a lots of funds to bet and not make winnings but the moment we start making small profits, we might be thinking that we are making profits which might not be the case because we are not keeping records of our winnings and loses.

Record keeping had helped me a lot when I gambler to assertain whether I am making progress or not. Not having record or keep it could make us a bad gambler and could even increase how often we gamble.

I don't keep any matetial data of my losses, but I have some notion in my head of how much I've already lost. I think that is important to know how much you have profited or lost gambling in order to be a good gambler who will play responsibly, always respecting your personal limits. When you don't give importance to these informations, it's much more likely you are going to develop a disfunctional behavior, wasting money you couldn't, because you aren't conscious about your previous activities and results.

It does not make you a bad gambler, the criteria for a good and bad gambler is a gambler who makes profit. A gambler who wins and keeps making profit from gambling often is a good gambler, and a gambler who fails often is a bad gambler. So you are still a good gambler if you gamble without keeping records and still win.

Keeping record of what you use in gambling makes you a responsible gambler not a good gambler.

I don't keep any records because there's no reason for me to do so.
I guess the OP is making a gamble as source of income lol I don't think gamblers need to keep records or track their winnings or losses it's a bit much if you just want to have fun.

Keeping a record will remind me how much money I've lost via gambling, which will frustrate me.
Depends on the mood, if you want to be happy look at your winning track, and if you want to be frustrated just look at you losses  Grin

I know that the money spent for gambling are more like money spent for entertainment purposes, but it still kinda sucks, when you see how much you have spent on such unproductive hobby as gambling. Viewing my losses every day would make me wanna recover them, by gambling more and trying to get bigger profits. This leads to bigger bets, taking bigger risks and it seems more like a downward spiral towards developing gambling addiction.
I don't usually think about my losses, as long as I played that long haha. But honestly, on random times when it just pops out to my mind, it gets me mad actually thinking about how much I have lost to gambling. Keeping records of your losses would probably make you greedy to make it back to you, that's what every gamblers think actually, money revenge is addicting, so I don't advise recording to anyone that is involved in gambling. Perhaps, if you want to know your winning rate, that would be fine.

Nope, im not a fan on keeping up some records or tallying on how much i did spend on gambling because it would really be just that too hassle and on the same time you would really be that be able to see on how much you had totally be able to spend up in overall on which if you are on a losing situation then you would really be having those thoughts on trying out to recover on what you have lost on which it is really that a huge cons if you do mold up yourself on being that desperate or really that impulsive just because you've seen that on how big you have lost already and if you are a certain person who isnt really that good on handling your temper or emotion then this kind of behavior isnt really that recommendable.

Play on the amount on which you can afford to lose and never ever make yourself that consider on trying to look back on the money that you had spent out because it would really be just
making you that stirring up the emotions that you would be felt. Always better not to look back with those losses on which as long you are aware on how much money you are
spending and allocated on gambling then it should really be just that fine.

Not keeping records of your gambling activities definitely doesn't make you a bad gambler, especially if you are gambling just for fun and don't care much if you lose the money you are using. I believe gamblers who gamble to earn money will need to keep a record because they will need to have a count of how much they have used so far, how much they have won, and how much they have lost so that they can have an estimate of how they are doing at the end of the week or month.

Gamblers who gamble just to have some fun and just have an allocated budget don't need to keep a record of anything, they can just gamble, have some fun, and forget about what has happened because they don't need to do any evaluation or manage anything, etc. because they don't care about the wins and losses.

I don't keep track of my wins and losses. But I always allocate the same amount of money every week or month, depending on how much I have. Perhaps those who record their wins and losses think that it is good because they can check how much money they use and how much their wins and losses are to know what they should do. The note also reminds them to always have limits in gambling so that they do not gamble excessively and can even start reducing their gambling activities. So the benefits of having a note depend on each person because if they have a note, it means there is a goal they want to achieve or the note can remind them that gambling is for entertainment only.

Honestly, it would only be a waste of your time if you recorded all your expenses and income from your gambling activities, whether you win or lose, that is clearly not important for gamblers to do, simply limiting your budget every time you gamble is more than enough, therefore it is important to Limit every budget and bet so that you don't cross the line when gambling, let alone become addicted to gambling.

You won't be seen as a bad gambler because it's not important unless you are a mathematician or an accountant, maybe it's just important to calculate it, after all what's the point of calculating it, just enjoy your game when gambling, winning and losing is normal, the point is to understand everything. the risk of losing money because by understanding that you will become more mature when gambling, you don't have to keep talking about profits, limit your budget as an alarm so you don't exceed the limit. that's an important thing  Wink

Not recording deposits - withdrawals and not recording wins or losses, this is meaningless because it already knows from the overall records you keep it will be more losses. Cheesy

So why keep records? It's not about trading.

I feel that this is for fun so there is no intention whatsoever to record every activity in gambling, I feel not bad as long as I do this because I am prepared if I lose the next time it happens.
For me the bad thing is not being able to control the money you use for gambling.
