Global website payment company MoneyPayment.com is taking a bold step into the cryptocurrency world by launching a joint venture with NXT and mobile payment enterprise TXT Coins Now. The new initiative will allow merchants to accept NXT and other virtual currencies as payment on their online stores and easily exchange it for fiat money.

So if you're a merchant, get in touch with MoneyPayment.....

Update on the next NRS release from Jean-Luc:

TL:DR
i) future proofing being done now
ii) we will be able to add messages or encrypted messages to ordinary transactions

1.2.1e will be delayed because I decided to make some changes before DGS goes live.

Transactions will have a version, which will make future changes to transaction format easier. They will also have global properties, applicable to all transaction types. There is a new type of attachments, which can be attached to any transaction, not restricted to a single transaction type. Examples of such attachments for now are Message and EncryptedMessage. This means any transaction can optionally have a plain or encrypted message (data) attached, unless specifically disallowed where it doesn't make sense.

I need to finish this refactoring now so that the DGS transactions which commonly have encrypted message attached do not become a special case in the future but use this generic way of attaching a message. As a benefit, they can have either encrypted (like now) or plain text messages - useful for public purchase feedback. Asset transfers can also have an encrypted message in addition to the current plain text comment, useful for privacy e.g. when putting bitcoin addresses there.

ok. If anyone didn't notice the last press release, then this one was more about Txt Coins now, but also about the whole cooperation with Nxt, Maxcoin, Startcoin and Txtcoin: http://www.coinssource.com/nxt-txtcoins-and-the-global-mobile-virtual-network-operator-mvno/ - it was already retweeted to cca 250,000 people

Great that we're getting the exposure, but this PR was littered with mistakes. A couple of sentences didn't make sense at all. I know the standard of writing in crypto is pretty bad, but this is part of our brand and doesn't do NXT's 'smart people' positioning any favours. Can we make sure the writer at least gets a proofread next time?

Yep....this press release was a Lee/TXT4Coins effort and, tbh, it needs a re-write. I'll chase Lee down and ask him to put his PR thru more proof-reading.
I also made a mistake with the Coinomat press release......corrected the bit about purchasing NXT on your credit card.
Still lots of good news, though.

Anyone want to explain to me why Ripple is rising, or is it purely because they got a real aristocrat on board?
Number 4 sucks....maybe we need to ask a random Baron to join NXT.

If that was me, then hands up and sorry!

Maybe I'm missing something, but it looks like you can only cash out NXT directly to your credit card (which is pretty cool), but can you really buy NXT with a credit card? I see other options, "buy NXT with OKpay" and stuff like that.

Yes, I was quoting "QBTC". You can't buy Nxt with credit card

The real cool thing about it as it provides fully featured trustless wallet (based on official client) for anyone who doesn't want to download and install software/blockchain on their computer.

This should be added to "wallet" section on the OP

Meanwhile, back in good news for NXT world:

Coinomat just went live with NXT trading !

If you want in, NXT can be bought thru OKpay, EGOpay and PerfectMoney...
https://coinomat.com/#EGOPAY/NXT
And if you have a credit card and some NXT you need to cash out, check out:
https://coinomat.com/#NXT/VISAMASTER

And heres a little press release on the subject:

Quote
Coinomat announces first ever NXT → bank card services

Instant cryptocurrency and e-currency gateway service Coinomat.com is announcing the integration of NXT into their brokering platform. As well as providing a brand new NXT-to-fiat pathway, Coinomat will provide instant conversion facilities between NXT and a range of other popular cryptocurrencies including Bitcoin, Litecoin and Peercoin, plus Perfect Money, EgoPay and OKpay e-currencies.

Paying with NXT
Of special interest is the service which allows customers to send NXT to any Visa or Mastercard worldwide, opening a huge new market for NXT. Alongside Danish exchange CCEDK’s addition of NXT, the second generation cryptocurrency – currently rated #4 by market cap – will now enjoy full fiat >< NXT services. This is a vital step in ‘unpegging’ NXT from Bitcoin, allowing it to thrive on its own terms: until now, NXT-to-fiat conversion has always required Bitcoin exchange as an intermediate stage.

Coinomat’s bank card transfer is carried out within two business days, and all Mastercard and Visa cards are supported. All crypto exchanges to and from NXT are carried out instantly, subject to the blockchain confirmation times of the cryptocurrencies involved in the transaction. This is also the first service of its kind available for NXT.

Coinomat: using crypto in the real world
Coinomat.com was founded at the end of 2013 with the aim of providing a way to transact between various cryptocurrencies and fiat currencies as an alternative to the traditional open market exchange model. Coinomat targets long-term cryptocurrency holders, rather than speculative traders. The company has already launched a successful IPO on the NXT Asset Exchange (Asset id: 6220108297598959542).

‘We’re thrilled that NXT is partnering with such a well-established platform,’ comments Dan Kindly, NXT marketing associate. ‘Coinomat’s global reach and understanding of the crypto landscape makes them the perfect partner to bring the benefits of NXT’s innovation and versatility to a whole new group of users.’

There will be more a lot more good news coming up soon, stay tuned.

Oh, I noticed, but thank you for re-posting. Other people noticed, too, and there was a lot of action on the TXTCoinNow asset.

I looked at the project on StartJoin and didn't see very much investment activity. And I admit, I didn't quite understand what this investment actually is. Can someone shed some light on this project, and explain why an investor might want to throw a few btc at it?
