After all those latest insane pumps, NXT remained relatively untouched. Probably poeple become aware of that... Look at NXT graph through years and do your reasearch.
In addition, next gen is coming quite soon.
Yeah, this could be possible to brute-force - 4 to 6 signs is not that bad. There used to be a tool for it on the nxt board, but I couldn't find it (only did a quick google search though).
Here is an article about a script using the NXT API to brute force addresses - maybe that could be a starting point if you have some programming skills... or if the value is high enough to put real effort in.
If all keeps going according to plan, the snapshot will be in the next 3 months (Q3 of the year).

Please do not forget to forge with your NXT balance, at least while your computer is on for a few hours if not 24/7. You secure your investments when you forge providing more hashing to the network, making it more difficult to attack. This is a very important duty of every NXT investor.

If you look at a coin like, say Burstcoin, that is based off the NXT backbone, you will see that with some effort it can be messed with. The facts are that most standard hacking does not pay off for Cryptos as the resources that are hacking into the network of the coin could be doing just as much good generating coins the old fashioned way....or whatever.
Why is NXT so undervalued?
i am pretty sure that the nxt and other token based currencies confuse a lot of people and for that reason they do not get enough buy/sell action. there was a little bad press last year and there are always issues that people are more than happy to point fingers at. when there are so many coins being traded sometimes the smallest little thing will make people choose another to invest in

Not true, I believe.
You can get the public key of the account from somewhere, tech people will know how. Copying the steps to get the public key from documents is:
SHA256(secret_phrase) gives private key.
Curve25519(private_key) gives public key.
So two steps, the secret phrase is 1 known (called a 'salt' I think) plus the forgotten part which is 6-8 characters. Each character could be upper, lower, number or punctuation so 76 options. The maths of guessing a 1 in 76 six to eight times in a row is about 200 to 1 million billion options.
Searching these options with a miner that can search 60 billion combinations a second then this could be solved in 3 seconds to 4 hours. This isn't the same as me trying to break your account, as I know most of the password before I begin.
