There is a 100000 NXT bounty for an automated DAC gateway

There are devs working on an automated DAC gateway that will do blockchain transactions in other cryptos. What this means is that NXT <-> ANY will be able to be traded directly using the DAC. With a little more effort, the Asset Exchange can be setup to trade ANY and when you want to redeem it, the ANY will end up in your ANY wallet.

So, decentralized trustless exchange is possible with NXT, once we get the automatic gateways. Still looking for feedback and help from the people who can figure out some details that are a bit beyond me, but I have full confidence all these issues will be solved.

ANY: can be any other crypto that we add support for, eg. BTC, PPC, XCP, etc.
What is DAC? Decentralized Autonomous Corporation?

Also, do you know where is the full bounty list? I'm only aware of https://nextcoin.org/index.php/board,8.0.html but I don't see anything about a decentralized exchange there

Like I said, I thought they were already implementing some type of reputation system for the decentralized exchange. Why not just tie this reputation into the voting system. Sounds way better than just pure 1Nxt=1Vote to me.

Oh, and I already have over 100k. And I think you mean $10,000 not $1000  Smiley

I'm not 100% sure what the NXT devs are implementing, but the true decentralized exchange is trustless. Anything else (like ripple clone, counterparty) would just be false marketing.

Also, counterparty already does trustless exchanges for XCP <-> BTC. It can do this because it is implemented right on top of BTC blockchain

I'm happy to have gotten us all back on track

@CfB - so, details on the 1000 TPS NXT block chain.   At 128 bytes per transaction, do you agree NXT is adding 10 GB per day to the blockchain if each transaction is carried along in it forever?  Is this practical, or will NXT be doing ongoing blockchain pruning somehow instead?  If so, what is the max size of the NXT blockchain in 1000 TPS mode?

In fact we have 31 swarmers at this point, the goal and funding only reaches for 30.
So if we're going to add more SWARMers I'll first have to ask the funder of this project.

Let me put forth an idea I had that would be a natural for swarming.  There's a hundred other boards on a hundred other cryptocoins out there.  What if we came up with a list of those boards and assigned say three boards per swarmer.  They all go and establish accounts on those boards...maybe with a universally agreed username and password?  Then we start leaving posts at each board to the effect that "Your crypto is cool but your should diversify into just one more...NXT."  This would potentially get us a lot of new crypto-savvy members as well as developing some undercover scouts to let us know of interesting developments at a particular crypto that might be exploited by NXT.

Can you tell from this idea I am looking forward to the second season return of my current favorite TV show, The Americans?  For all you Russian / East Europeans, it's a spy drama that tells the tale of a married KGB team undercover in 1980s Washington DC.  It's only 90% as good as Breaking Bad, but that's plenty good enough...especially when it stars Keri Russell, whom I fell in love with back in her Felicity days decades ago.  What great hair she had then!

I have actually thought about it earlier, but I decided against it because it requires a lot more dedication. If you just register and say "NXT IS GREAT" you'll be flagged instantly and it'll be dishonest. What one would have to do is get someone who would be willing to spend time building a relationship with them and then bring up NXT and perhaps show them some of the infographics I got made like: http://www.nxtcrypto.org/nxtcoin/nxt-vs-quark

But I think you'd just be flagged, most altcoins are in a shitty condition now that NXT, Ethereum, Emunie etc. is taking over and they know it, so anyone suggesting anything other than their own coin would be insta downvoted.

I think it's better that we just keep on focusing on getting NXT out there to the public, that way everyone will check it out regardless.

I don't really come from outer space.
Anyone have any experience with iDeal payment method?  Think it could be use in a Euro to NXT gateway?

I don't think it would hurt the stakeholders at all. I would imagine they would be the ones with the BEST reputation because they'd be doing the majority of the selling. If they got bad reputation from screwing people over, than why would you want their vote to count for more anyways? I think if they could implement reputation + active-account-time into the 1Nxt=1Vote system, that would be ideal.

honestly if you BELIEVE in NXT then you better spend the $1000USD to buy 120k NOW. Your belief and support will make it grow AND give you something worth voting for

If decentralization is the goal, than reputation is the only way to go. Plenty of working real life examples too. Ebay anyone?

yeah but on eBay you can have a bad rep and still sell

Yeah, but it works. Not many people will buy from you if you have bad feedback. I agree that it should still be based off of stake. I just feel like a big government entity or what have you could easily buy up a lot of coins and then eventually damage the coin based off of voting decisions. If they could ad some kind of mechanism so that reputation added more value to your vote, I feel like that would be an added step to make sure these scenarios are avoided. Or like I said, maybe time-your-account-has-been-unlocked adding value to your Nxt Vote. I don't know, just a thought.

i know youre thinking for the good, and i agree to that. But what effect is a -1% per rep slam on Whales? and what if you were a normal guy but the rest of the whales didnt like how you voted so they all down voted you?. and they had big reps and huge hallmarks so your 1000nxt was worth 1vote. thats the side effects..
