I've noticed account is unlocked... Do I need to lock it or keep it unlocked?

It's like a login / logout, lock in whenever you don't use it, like you keep your wallet closed.

Edit: this would prevent your client node from forging coins if you lock it

Nice to see so many other people jumping in, me too Grin

How long does a typical NXT withdraw from DGEX take? They say up to one business day if I recall well, do they operate manually?

come from beyond, what is the optimal time to enter for AS? 5 seems too short and risks losing it

What is the down side to deadline 1440?

If u have a lot of money u can just send 5 transactions with 1, 10, 100, 1000, 10000 fees and deadline set to 1440.

how does the amount bid correlate to the time?

I really like the concept of this coin! I am jumping in to this coin forging, have some questions to help me understand, hopefully not too many Smiley

1. Is there some sort of traffic number gaging the transaction amount per day that NXT does on average?
not yet
2. How much NXT can I expect to forge if I hold say 1000 nxt in a given day?
not much (ie .0001) of all transactions, so with 1440 per day, youre looking at forging 1 per week?
3. Say I have 1000 NXT, Is there benefit to multiple computers (say 10) that hold 1/10 of the 1000 NXT as opposed to one computer holding all 1000 NXT?
opposite. better to have more in one wallet
4. What is the transaction fee for trading 1 NXT as opposed to 10000 NXT?
you can always pay 1nxt fee, but it wont always be processed fast
5. Can I just hold onto NXT for eternity and still make residual NXT over time?
if your wallet is open yes
6. Does the amount forged for any given holder vary with the price of NXT?
no, forging is based on proof of stake. owning coins

Thanks I think thats it!

Yes, Alias System is planned to be used to send coins to named accounts.
- CfB, could you please explain what URI format must be used for aliased named accounts?  "nxt:111222333444555" or just "111222333444555" ?

Help me!
In the 0.4.0 version, there is not reminder in browser that"you can generate the next block..." indicator.
What is the problem.or is it running normally?

Block is as following:

Code:
20994 2584657662098653454 2013年12月21日 上午11:34:44
0 0 + 0 0 B
1 7709310964501092230 259 %

One particular account can't mine all blocks in the row. At some point it hits the wall and must wait for someone else to generate a block.

Do we have to use https://localhost:7875/alias.html?  Can we use the "assignAlias" API instead?

Yes, we can.

what is this api and where can i find specification?

also are spaces allowed in aliases?

https://localhost:7875/nxt?requestType=assignAlias&secretPhrase=123&alias=Google&uri=http://google.com&fee=1&deadline=5

Allowed only digits and latin letters (case-insensitive)

In Nxt, like in early days of America, no central authority. Squatting seems to be the most fair way in our situation.

Hey I'm all for this theory, just was wondering how much of it was planned as a payout to existing users?

can u send a request and then another one while waiting for the first outcome?
or doesn't it play a role , just send 5 requests when 22000 block hits and wait for what will happen

Yes, u can send many requests. If u send 5 transactions to register the same alias they will enter 5 blocks.

Any thoughts on hijacking the AS process before the 720 block confirmation occurs?

If you registered Google for 1 Nxt and it wasn't "forged" but was generally accepted, would there be a chance to throw 10k at Google before the 12 hours pass and getting it priority because it was passed through a forging block?

If Google (1 NXT) is not confirmed then Google (10k NXT) has 99% chance to be confirmed in the 1st place.

Also, thoughts on the whole 'gold rush' nature of this Alias release? I assume the Alias function and its monetary value were planned into Nxt from the early stages, and since we are aware of the potential value for cybersquatting or proper SEO marketing using these aliases, were they designed as a profit taking measure? designed for release at block 22000?
nothing.
