Do we have to use https://localhost:7875/alias.html?  Can we use the "assignAlias" API instead?

Yes, we can.

what is this api and where can i find specification?

also are spaces allowed in aliases?

Please don´t forget to comment here to show Cryptsy that we would like to have Nxt on the site:

And please also "LIKE" the idea on the top of the thread!

can u send a request and then another one while waiting for the first outcome?
or doesn't it play a role , just send 5 requests when 22000 block hits and wait for what will happen

You would never "stumble" , transparent mining is designed so blocks are announced where they will be forged.

Your odds will increase from the last time you forged a block, with your number of coins held vs the number of coins currently logged in.

If you have 10 million, you WILL process 1% of all blocks. If you have 10 million coins and 50% of the other coins are off line, you will process 2% of all blocks. thats 144 and 288 blocks a day.

Look at my blockchain  http://87.230.14.1/nxt/nxt.cgi?action=3000&acc=15436509232181115695

I currently have a Mining Ratio [2]   :   0.0123 % » [20 NXT] so that means I should process 20 blocks a day, but my calculation of 1440 * .0123 = 17.712

But that percent is based on ALL COINS being logged in. As soon as people log out, the probability increases.

NOW, as to Nxt hitting $1? that is speculation. Nxt is well designed, quickly growing, and only going upward. Of course there could be a better coin around the corner, or a fatal flaw, or the Government cracks down on all cyber coins, who knows, but I bought in at about $.0025 and now its over $0.01 so $1 is just another number.

Long on Nxt. To the future moon!

Ok so I was watching this video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w1FTzBjy_8Q

What I dont get:

1) You still need exchanges, bitcoin and fiat to exsist because you are basically told you need to buy them just like every other coin, so whats the point? You still need the same things. With other coins, you dont need to because you can mine them, to "mine" nxt you need to own some nxt first, which means you need an exchange, btc and fiat.

2) The more coins you have, the more coins you will win if you hold them. Is this correct? Isn't this against making the coin more well distributed?

No one ive shown this coin to have figured out how to mine or anything, myself included. How?

you don't mine, you forge. All coins are created and you earn transaction fees by keeping your wallet open and connected.

Proof of stake. More coins means more forging power.

1 billion coins ever, so owning 1 million gives you .1% of all transaction fees.

Any thoughts on hijacking the AS process before the 720 block confirmation occurs?

If you registered Google for 1 Nxt and it wasn't "forged" but was generally accepted, would there be a chance to throw 10k at Google before the 12 hours pass and getting it priority because it was passed through a forging block?

Also, thoughts on the whole 'gold rush' nature of this Alias release? I assume the Alias function and its monetary value were planned into Nxt from the early stages, and since we are aware of the potential value for cybersquatting or proper SEO marketing using these aliases, were they designed as a profit taking measure? designed for release at block 22000?

I feel there might be a couple hundred users at best that are paying attention to this process and will be ready to rush in at tomorrow and stuff their pockets full of aliases. Obviously I am one of those users, and while I don't plan on breaking the bank, I do feel the risk is worth the reward of spending 1000 coins on a couple hundred aliases. I also think that buying and using aliases will motivate people to use aliases, and therefore use Nxt, and therefore spread Nxt

The more I think about this, the more my head spins.  Kiss Cry Undecided Tongue Grin

In the early days of the www, registering a domain was expensive +$100? and time consuming. Cyber squatters needed to make some hefty bets, and of course some did pay out, but a lot of them faded into nothing.

Currently Nxt are worth about USD $.01, and the process is as easy as link. Like I said, not going to want to be caught sleeping tomorrow. Ugh, Imagine if the internet at home goes down..haha Shocked Shocked

How can i know if i got an alias?
What change if i set 1 min of deadline or 1440?

Sorry but there is something that i still can't understand...

U'll see a confirmed transaction in ur transactions. Amount will be 0 NXT.

Deadline is a voodoo magic trick. U don't know how high a fee should be, so u send, say, 10 NXT fee and set deadline to 3 minutes. If ur transaction is not confirmed then u should increase the fee, but u shouldn't send another transaction until the previous one is not expired. Deadline defines when a transaction expires.

probabilly a stupid question: why my transaction should be confirmed or not? more NXT = more chances to be confirmed?

So if 100 people are trying to register the same alias, the one with the highest fee when the next block is generated will get the Alias?

Yes. (If this transaction is seen by forging node.)

That is somthing I don't understand...how dose one sell/transfer a Alias?
Lets say I register 100 Alias names with my Nxt account, now I won't tosell google the google alias...what schould I do?
I could give them the pass to the acount but
1. I would still know tha password, so google would share the alias with me
2. I still have 99 other Alias names on this acount, I don't  won't goole to get those aswell

U have to wait when alias transfer will be implemented (if implemented at all, such a feature must wait for Voting System to be launched).

Ah ok, so for now its just geting them, then leting them sit and hoping for the best^^

Cool, thanks for the info Smiley

Or you can create multiple accounts so that one account can take care one alias.

Hey come-from-behind, what kinda estimate on how many alias transactions will process in the first 5 minutes?

how many can the block chain handle?

say 1000 different aliases are requested in block 22001, will it be able to handle them? or will it space them over more blocks?

if you wanted to buy 100 aliases, and set the time for 10 minutes on all, would you expect them to fit in that time? or will the block chain take the highest fees in order?
ie

google 1000nxt block 22001
sex 660nxt block 22002
nxt 650nxt block 22003 etc..

Each block is limited to 32 KiB, min transaction size is 128 B. AS-transactions add overhead for attachment that contains alias and uri values. 1000 aliases will be split among 4 blocks at least.

AS-transactions flow will be a good stress-test for the network. They will increase rate of orphaned blocks, so if u see ur alias is confirmed it doesn't mean that it's forever. Only 720 confirmations guarantee 100% irreversibility.

Also we can see low-fee aliases confirmed in the 1st place coz not all transactions will reach forging nodes.
