Sorry if i missed the UDP discussion.
Will there be support for UDP hole punching?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UDP_hole_punching

It depends on client side configuration.

Hey guys, please test http://nxtra.org/nxt-client-trustless

It will replace http://nxtra.org/nxt-client if all is found to be functioning.

This new version no longer submits your password to the server, signing is done locally.

Let me know if you find any errors. (Sending messages, sending nxt, anything that is a form basically).

@CfB Just curious. What will you be working on after that?
I am assuming there are funds to support further development so why not keep hiring you?

I'll be working on a MMORPG.

Good point!! Are there any people working on NXT who don't have a big enough stake to stay motivated? If there are we need to help them get a big stake. Maybe give them an option to buy in at a fixed price down the track.

I would give the option to James.

Agreed! I hope James has a big  juicy stake, NXT definitely needs his energy and vision. What about all the people on the committees, and guys like rickyjames? There are lots of others people too.

If some key people don't have a big enough stake, and they don't have enough spare cash at the moment to buy in big now, then the community needs to address that. Buy in options is a possibility

I thought CfB and CIYAM are working on TF to make it 100% deployed, aren't they?

I am not working on TF at all - but I do think that CfB is going to proceed with it as originally planned.

Aye, I became tired of all these useless discussions (what and how to do) and going to stick to the initial plan. I'll quit a little bit later (not on the 3rd of April), coz I can't complete all planned tasks by that date.

i'd like to say something, with my sardine stake in NXT.  I believe ricky is saying outloud what a lot of us that are thinking.
IF NXT is the future of Crypto, we have to step up to the plate.  Or the soccer net.  Or whatever the right sports metaphor is.
Most of all, we need people to come up with a way to have a guy with a cellphone to buy a candy bar with an app that is backed by NXT

On the complaints front, there are a lot of people complaining, (and i believe they rush to do that) without basically understanding the full spectrum of Nxt services. They probably joined the boat at the high peaks and when some time passed, and market started its bear move, they panicked, and panic is easier to vent with when you have a keyboard at hand. So i dont pay attention to them, patience is needed.

Whale dumps are always welcome, i believe. Are we all so full of Nxt, that we dont need no more? i still pickup some in every chance i get, to me Nxt still looks like a bargain with al those zeroes in front of its price...

On the marketing fund, i would like to be the candy bar client, more than any of you. Is there a merchant selling candies for Nxt?

Let me explain:
I have two jobs, i work at a small advertising office, and i also work as a mountain guide in Mt Olympus National Park, with these guys right here http://mountainspirit.gr/ & http://www.olympus-climbing.gr/?language=en

Mt Olympus is not mt Everest, but it is the highest peak in Greece, it is one of the most visited destinations in the country and it is home to the better part of greek history and myths. During the May-August season, the mountain is visited by more than 500.000 visitors, with the summit being approached by an average of 50.000 people, according to data from the Hellenic Mountaineering & Climbing Federation.

There are 2 mountain refuges above the alpine zone, "Spilios Apostolides" & "Christos Kakkalos" and one of them is  also web enabled, with high speed mob internet sponsored by one of the three major mobile phone providers in Greece.

I would love (and i know all of you guys want the same) to buy a candy, or a pizza, or anything trivial from up there. I would be willing to even carry my laptop all the way up, if there is not a safe mobile client by then. I am not asking for your moneyz or anything, i can cover my expenses and enjoy it too much.

What i am asking is, do you think we could create some buzz with something like that?
Buying stuff from remote places? Trading on AE like a boss, in my tent at 2750m?

Or, now with bitcoin going to everest and space, stunts like that cant draw enough attention?

Thanks

Here I am trying to invite devs - https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.5702106  Java programmers needed - hiring, up to 10 million Nxt for development  (Read 213 times)

the link is also here:

Excellent news , thanks CfB! Are you being paid for the extra work?

No, but I have some NXTs, so I'm a little interested in success of Nxt. Smiley

I will gladly accept all your apologies.

This said it is not over yet, they will dump to 0.

So if you have small stake left get out while you still get something for it.

They have made a walking zombie of nxt, and it will drop dead within days now, reasons:

No interest of the masses
No future development and continuation
No vision
No results
Failing marketing
No real use for nxt, what does nxt offer other than others?

I have made a lot of money on nxt as an investor and early adopter,
stage was set so that we were the only ones to make money on nxt.

There will be even whales that haven’t made money cos they didn’t sold the fools.

Future of nxt is to hit 0 again and with some luck become a pump and dump coin like all others in best case.

In worst case nobody will talk about nxt anymore within 2 months

I like you. Do you want to drink a beer (or more) with me ? You are so smart. I can read you hours. Also you can explainxplain to me what can I do with my NXT. Do you want any ?

BTW, when we switch thing to binary, how many TPS can we get? any ideas?

I would do it gradually: 10 tps, then 100 tps, then 1000 tps.

See, guys, Nxt will be very successful.
I never worried about the price of Nxt, In fact, I always hope it can hold back for some time so that I can buy more  Wink
like what BCNext said, don't pay much attention to the price

Yes, we indeed need more core devs.

Ricky and others worried about speed...
In case you missed it this is the reply I was hoping for from CIYAM...

1. We can add capacity to NXT - important point - as it needs it, which means we don't need to bloat the chain unnecessarily
2. With TF we can add capacity up to 100tps  which is beyond any other crypto - although with up to 60s for confirmation because of the block speed.
3. Parallel chains enable us to implement parallel processing units so we then multiply the capacity of one chain by how many copies we run..

So it looks like we can do the speed and we can add it in stages..

Assuming this gets done.. those dumping NXT may well regret it.... YUB YUB YUB

1. great to hear the 250 per block and therefore minute can be changed easily to add more capacity per minute?
2. can you clarify how TF helps. is that because clients can know where to send the transaction so it can get to the forging node quicker to be included or is there some other reason why TF enables more transactions per block?
3. we still have (worst case) 60s latency - is there any solution to this other than more blocks per minute?

1. Yes the constant 250 is trivially changed (although how much bigger we make that is something we'll need to consider).

2. TF helps not just because you can send more directly but because it is expected those nodes would be running on high bandwidth connections.

3. There is no real solution to the latency problem in the internet apart from centralisation. TF helps us by basically acting as a compromise - we trade off some decentralisation in order to get higher throughput.

BTW parallel chains allows you to multiply the TPM by the number of chains you are supporting so more high powered TF nodes could become "super nodes".

Everybody says BCNext/Ukigo has totally left the project, so HE isn't working on it.  THere's NOBODY ELSE doing core dev work, which is why HIRING / RECRUITING MORE OUTSIDE JAVA PROGRAMMERS (rather than dangling bounties in front of insiders) is the most important thing to do with the techdev fund.

BCNext == Ukigo? Excuse me, what news did I miss?

maybe its from this Huh not sure how accurate it may be though

well, our Messiah told it clearly, but still, - only "at least now":

quote author=BCNext link=topic=303898.msg3413767#msg3413767 date=1382764982
Nxt has such features as

# Instant transactions ("0-confirmation transactions")
# Anonymity of IP address send transactions & mining blocks (with Tor or the cloud client)
# P2P exchange BTC (with colored coins)
# Faster difficulty changes (adjusted each block)
# Name doesn't contain "coin", "cash", "kash", "money", "dollar",  nor "bit" (at least now, Nxt is a codename)

VISA scale volume can be achieved with 32 Mbps connection.

I can not give an answer regarding Zerocoin/CoinJoin now, I am not very familiar with these concepts.

But this has got some history, so the time has changes (but not sure if it is better now Cheesy )

Hi all !
For new proposed "inflationary" fork of PPCoin,
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/truecoin-157994
we need to coin REALLY good name.

There are 3 rules  :

1) The name of the fork should NOT contain
these particles : "coin", "money", "cash", "bit", byte". ( some other disallowed syllables might be added here later ).

2) The name of the coin should NOT be
 trademarked, registered, copyrighted,
 or patented.

Huh.  Thanks, Salsa, suddenly I think I'm a better detective than I thought I was.

Hey C-f-B...  is there any chance we get BCNext's 3rd plan ahead of schedule?    Roll Eyes

...it will make more sense to decide/agree on modifications once we have the full picture...

Ask him directly. Salsacz knows his real account.

Let me clarify.  I do not claim to know his REAL identity either.  However, BCNext himself has acknowledged being a long time poster at BCT under another user ID.  I believe I know that BCT user ID.  Do you know that?

If so, one day I will send you an anonymous message on the NXT blockchain revisiting this topic.

Let's play the game but we fix the weak points in such a way:

1. U post ur guess in this thread, I'll answer it publicly as well.
2. I tell TRUE or FALSE according to my guess regarding the real identity of BCNext.

PS: And then u'll tell why u think so, ok?

OK.

I think BTNext's previously used BCT username was/is Ukigo.

It's just a quess. Ukigo is a Russian speaking person, so I doubt he is BCNext.
