This should be reported to Jean_luc or CFB if this is still happening. I thought this was supposed to be fixed.

bug?

Using http://nxtra.org/nxt-client/

Try to "Sell nodecoin for NXT"

Amount 540
Price 1
Total 540
Fee 1

The account has 28.5 testNXT, so should be able to pay the fee.  Instead get error:

Not enough funds.

http://localhost:6876/nxt?requestType=getBalance&account=16941742721574909475
{"balance":2850,"effectiveBalance":-3300,"unconfirmedBalance":2850}

Looks fine. What is wrong?

Edit: Sell or buy? What is the request?

Sell, and seems he has 590 nodecoins: http://localhost:6876/nxt?requestType=getAccount&account=16941742721574909475

Why would the coin have any value if it can be killed by a solvable "weakness"?

The coin is created to solve the problem. It has a value because there is a bounty to solve the problem.
Since it is a PoW coin, the number of the coin is a proof of the contribution to solving the problem.

Think that you are doing some research and need some computing power to solve a problem
then you buy the computing power from some organization or company
or you can just create a PoW coin, let those who mining the coin solve the problem while mining, in the end, when the problem solved, you pay them by buying all the coin back.

Is it possible to build dedicated PoW coins on Nxt to solve problems like this one (not necessarily this one)?
Assume there is a bounty for solving the problem, then when the problem gets solved, the coin dies naturally and the bounty can be divided just by buying all the coins using it.

I think this would totally change how the researches that need massive computing resource are done, or every one is aware of such an idea?

PoW, PoS, PoTBD, hybrids, basically anything you can think of can most likely be implemented. Due to the overhead of creating an AE based coin being so low, it is well suited for vertical market or local market uses such as what you describe.

No it's not, sorry for late response.

ps. @IE; I have to move my cursor to generate a password. @Chrome; Password generated automatically. Without moving mouse.

That's because you are using an older version of IE which does not have crypto built in. Instead we use random mouse movement for those older browsers.

Regarding the issue, can you tell me exact version numbers of Chrome and firefox? Is this on windows?

Chrome;
Version 30.0.1599.101 m

Update failed (error: 3)An error occurred while checking for updates: Update check failed to start (error code 3: 0x800704c7 -- system level).

IE;
9.0.8112.16421

Saying it again; I'm testing this at the office where I don't know the security issues here. I can't even download the latest update of chrome for example. So, maybe it has nothing to do with your software.

You need to update to IE 11. IE 10 and older  requires mouse movement

Hi Wesley,

Don't know if we have to look at this seriously;

I am at the office now. I don't know how they set up their firewall settings etc.

But I can't go through the 'Make a new account' stage here.

@Home, everything works just fine.

Browser? and version please.

I used this;

http://nxtra.org/nxt-client/

IE and Chrome

Try again now, made a small change.

Is this now fixed or not?

Doesn't make sense.

Thanks, this will be fixed at some point, focusing on desktop for now. Mobile optimization after that Smiley

Hey Wesley

 nxt-client works on chrome on my HTC One,  the four squares on the dashboard line up nice, but the menu bar buttons, send message, send next, generate token, settings and log out get overlaid wrong in the CSS and get all jumbled, although they do seem to work.

 I'm sure this if far down the list of things but you are SUCH a machine..

EDIT WTF is this so large? screenshot to dropbox to imgur. Oh well.

What's wrong with the transactions sidebar? It also allows you to filter, when you are on that page, see the dropdown in the right corner.

Run Wesleyh NxtWallet :
It is useful when click on the ID,the acc will be copied to clipboard. Cheesy

Where can I found my transaction history,such as ,creation alias,transfer,or issued asset?

That was an error in an earlier version, it should be fixed in the online version. If you are using that, do CTRL+F5 to force a refresh of the javascript files.

@wesleyh possible spelling error it went by so fast but the green box that fades in and out in the upper right corner said to me you "sould" something I forgot what asset.

At least that's what I think I saw.

I have no such issue on ipad. Are you on IOS7?

At what point do you get an error?

@wesleyh

I think i found a bug:
I tried to register a new account on http://nxtra.org/nxt-client/ with my ipad, but it was impossible.

Good night everybody Smiley

$deadline = $hit / $baseTarget * $totalEffectiveBalance;

Why totalEffectiveBalance (not effective balance of a particular account)?

What about "(" and ")"? Like $deadline = $hit / ($baseTarget * $totalEffectiveBalance);

rewarded nodecoin is uncorrelated with the holding Nxt of Nodes?
correct. It is nodecoin, not stakecoin

The coin that is allocated in proportion to the number of other nodes that you are an active peer for. That was the easiest metric I could come up with that seems to correlate to adding value to the NXT network. After all, if a node is an active peer, then it must be useful. The only way to get more nodecoins is to setup another NXT acct, node and IP address, which is another node! I think this is fairer than the NXT clones and it should have more value than NXT clones. Then again Aurora coin proves I know nothing about crypto valuations...

I am not sure, but I would imagine that hallmarked servers would be active nodes more than non-hallmarked nodes, so maybe the bigger stakeholders would be able to earn more nodecoins, but only if they created active hallmarked nodes.

James
got it,thanks.
Really good ideas and production,more coins based on Nxt,more valuable for Nxt.
