Yes and on sports sites and channels all Indian community is very big so its very difficult for others to win any thing even they deserve about this win most of votes cast base on nationalty base.

Is that surprising? For all types of sports and games, the fans of a particular player would be from his own country. There can be rare exceptions, such as Ronaldo/Messi in football and Bryant/LeBron with basketball. Virat Kohli is a big name in international cricket. Even in countries such as Australia, he will be having huge number of fans. But then, Steve Smith will be more popular there.

Cricinfo is conducting a voting on your favorite of how cricket players are celebrating their high moments with select 15.

The voting is over and Virat Kohli won by a huge margin, he does have a lot of fans in India and there is no way others could match him.

The difference is way to high. He , Virat Kohli  got 465.5K votes while the runner up Shahid Afridi got only 9.4K votes. I think people have voted on the basis of the nationality of the cricketers and not on the basis of celebration style.

My favorite celebration is not listed here. During the 2007 World Cup, the Irish players (especially the bowlers Trent Johnston and Dave Langford-Smith) had a strange way of celebrating. It was called "the chicken dance". I still remember Johnston's celebration, when he took the wicket of Virender Sehwag during the WC match that was played at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.

My favourite among this is the Shikhar Dhawan Thigh slap as this is so macho for me and he has the nag of playing with his moustache as well which for me looks so amazing. Also, for the thigh slap it indirectly also promotes the another sport which is Kabaddi and it has lost its some relevance now in the country and this is reminds people back and again of the another sport too.

I just find out that i missed the lasted match at Retrolive which was live on May 5. Although i do not miss any of these match, but somehow couldn't check the cricinfo. No one here also did not mentioned about this match too. Sad

Do you guys do not watch these matches in lockdown ?

Now just kids watching these games as adults doing some other stuff they already watch these matches many times and now feeling bore so better doing some other stuff is much good for them Wink

What other stuff could adult do in the lockdown situation ?

Even after doing all the work, there is still ample time left for us and seeing a cricket match is the best way to spend the time.

But for me the funniest of them all was when Kesrick Williams dismissed Chadwick Walton he took out his usual notebook walk off and in the next match Chadwick Walton was in revenge mode and whenever he scores a boundary he takes his bat and sign off mocking Kesrick Williams and it was my favorite battle in recent memories.

I don't think that was the best team of Pakistan which played the 1992 world cup. For me , 1999 World cup team Pakistan had Wasim Akram, Waqar
Younis and Sohaib Aktar and that was the best fast bowling attack Pakistan team ever had.

It is very difficult to compare the 1992 and 1999 squads. Wasim Akram was there in both the squads. By the time of the 1999 World Cup, he had lost some of his venom. The swing was still there, but he was no longer bowling the 90 mph deliveries on a consistent basis. The same can be said about Waqar Younis as well. Shoaib Akhtar was the difference. He was at his peak during the 1999 World Cup.

Here is Pakistan team for 1992 Word Cup as this was not favorite or good team at the time but they done really miracle and won this world cup
Imran Khan, Javed Miandad, Saleem Malik, Rameez Raja, Aamir Sohail, Zahid Fazal, Inzimam-ul-Haq, Ijaz Ahmed, Moin Khan, Wasim Akram, Aaqib Javed, Mushtaq Ahmed, Wasim Haider, Iqbal Sikandar, Head Coach Intikhab Alam.
Imran Khan selected a team with young players along with experienced players like Javed Miandad and i remember Inzimam-ul-Haq was the trump card as he was sent to score quick runs and even though Waqar Younis missed the tournament due to injury, Wasim Akram and Aaqib Javed spear headed the bowling department with Mushtaq Ahmed as the main spinner .

That was the best team in the history of Pakistan Cricket. On one side they had the best bowling attack and on the other side, they had the best opening pairs. The middle-order was supported by some of the best batsmen of that era. In all a perfectly balanced team with newcomers and veterans.

There are some big names there which the world cricket can never forget and that team was lead by Imran khan whom vision was the only reason that Pakistan won the 1992 world cup.
You are right there was few good names never forget but few names which we never hear after this world cup and no one able to give any comments about them as they never deserve for spot but have in like Wasim Haider Iqbal Sikandar and Zahid Fazal even after few decades we have no clue about them.

This is the next match which is going live on Retrolive tomorrow. This match was originally played on 21 March 1992. Did anyone watch it that time or know the result of this match ?

How can anyone forget that Match. Pakistan won that Semi final by beating the unbeaten team of 1992 World Cup in NewZealand. It was a miracle for Pakistan that Inzimam came at the middle late order and played an innings of lifetime. Later on, Pakistan won on winning the world cup.

I was in school that time, That were the good old days.  Smiley

No one imagined at that time that Pakistan will win the world cup. The posts couple of initial matches but then they started playing exceptionally well from quater finals onwards.

The team had the best ballers and batsmen at that time. Waqar younis and wasim akram were ripping apart every batsmen.

Although i did not know how exactly were Team Pakistan strong at that time but i would like to make clear few things. There were no quarterfinals in 1992 worldcup and the top 4 teams qualified for the semi finals.

Waqar younis was not the part of 1992 Pakistan Squad.

Quote
As a player, Waqar Younis had nothing but bad memories of the World Cup. ... Waqar was considered Pakistan's main weapon in the 1992 World Cup in Australia, but a week before the event started he had to return home in tears without playing a match due to injury.

Hmm.. if your claim is true, then there is a good chance that the footage was lost. Digital video cameras came in to existence only in 1993 (Ampex DCT). Before that, the digital cameras could only capture pictures. And for capturing video, you had to depend upon the old school cameras, which used film rolls. But I just hope that this footage is preserved somewhere. It means a lot for Indians.
I have no idea about those and we have not seen anyone claiming in recent years about having the videos and it is possible that those videos will be stored in someones garrage or the videos will be lost forever, but who knows we might see the video uploaded in the future as we have seen old videos of Bradman playing getting uploaded in Youtube and in the future we might hopefully get those videos.
