All that remains of that match are a few photographs. BBC was having the broadcasting rights for the 1983 Cricket World Cup (which was being played in England). Back then, India was being considered as one of the minnows, with West Indies being the overwhelming favorites to win the world cup. On that day, West Indies was playing against Australia and therefore the BBC sent the crew and equipment to cover that match. For them, the India vs Zimbabwe match was not a very important one.
During that period no one was willing to broadcast the match as the matches are too long and on that particular day BBC was having a strike and so is the reason the match was not recorded or broadcasted by the media but the video is recorded by a private individual and was demanding huge amount during that time and after that no idea what happened to that, during that period cricket was not that big and there was not much money involved.

For this particular game ; English media had a very colonial mindset about any Subcontinent team so they didn't bother to cover this game and same goes with the broadcasters.
As mentioned it was not because of the colonist mentality but because of a strike by the staff members with the help of union members which boycoted live events and refused to do the job until their demands were met.
Yeah, you are right but i was just painting the overall picture that Subcontinent teams (Indian team) used to get different treatment back then.

However i could not find any highlights of the match on youtube. Where did you watch the match ?

You will not find any YouTube videos, because the content is copyrighted.  Grin

You need to install the Fancode app on your mobile phone to watch these matches. I installed it a few months ago, in order to watch the FIBA World Cup (Basketball). Every now and then, they show some minor cricket matches for free (such as Zimbabwe vs Singapore or Nepal vs Afghanistan). As of now, the Belarusian Premier League football is also being shown live there.  Grin

After almost two months, watched a live cricket match today. Fancode mobile app did broadcast some matches from the Taipei T10 League. Don't ask me much about the quality, because you know the answer.  Grin But still I was really happy to watch some live action. And as expected, this so called "Taipei League" don't have a single Taiwanese player. All of them are expats.

I am looking to bet on any live match because its been a long time since i made a bet  Sad

Can we bet on these T10 matches anywhere ?

I doubt it is possible to bet on this match. The only reason we came to know about this tournament is because no one else is playing at the moment. I doubt they have any affiliation with ICC also otherwise it would have come up on cricinfo.

This is something like finding a jewel in the coal. Anything at this point of time when there are no matches for coming time as well it seems and in between if we can find any of the match of any local team playing anywhere would also be of the highest regard as per me. Also can you share the link and hope the match was little interesting if not that exciting.

@Vishnu.Reang my heart skipped a beat when I read that there was a live cricket match (during lockdown) and I had missed seeing it, but after reading what I had missed I had to smile and be happy that I missed it. Further I understand your excitement as seeing a live cricket match is rare these days, but I would yet pass the opportunity to see this league as I only like to watch quality cricket even during the lockdown.

THE COCA COLA CUP FINAL 1998 HIGHLIGHTS

I remember this match and also had seen this as one of the most famous matches in which India has played some magnificent cricket and match as well. It was all dominated by Australia and India during that time was not that strong team India came back strongly and Sachin lead it from front and played shorts all over the ground.

I don't want to generalize anyone... but BBC in particular have a very bad attitude towards Indians. I've been watching BBC news regularly for more than 15 years now, and I have noticed this several times. On the other hand, international channels such as CNN, RT and DW are more balanced in their coverage. That said... it is a great loss for the Indians that the match was not covered. We will never get to see that amazing innings from Kapil Dev.
BBC and British media never been happy with any good things happening in sub-continent mostly they reports which bring negative point of this area just because of this they never been popular here like CNN and now DW is also doing some good work with the help of local broascasters.

Are you people talking about old days when British media was not fair ?
Today the things have changed dramatically and all the broadcasters give priority to cover the cricket in India more than anywhere else.

They have to do it as they will not generate revenue if they do not. British media is still the same and some of the US media are having the same attitude they still think they are superior to any one else in the world.

High Ad revenue got them changed dramatically.

Since we can't watch those matches, so we can't imagine how they were played. But even 20 years ago the technology were not so good as it is now. We didn't have closeup reviews, hawkeye and a lot of other things at that time.

True. All that remains of that match are a few photographs. BBC was having the broadcasting rights for the 1983 Cricket World Cup (which was being played in England). Those were bad days for colored people. British Media had a very negative outlook towards ex colonies . Australia at that time was being governed by the monarch therefore more emphasis was on their game.

This match may not be interesting for you but being a cricket lover, you might enjoy the match or look out for some special innings and how was cricket being played 20 years back when the technology was not so advanced as it is now. Such matches also rewind our lives to 20 years back and a lot of memories comes to my mind.

Technology started changing from the late 1980s onward. So if you want to get a good idea about how the matches was played before the technological revolution, then you need to watch the tournaments that were played before mid-1980s. But some of those matches are not available online. One example is the India vs Zimbabwe match in 1983, in which Kapil Dev made 175 not out. That match was not broadcast live, so no video is available.
