I am not at all satisfied with the result of this match. I expected a better performance from this Indian squad. In the T20 series we have seen good bowling in the death overs. So today after Sri Lanka lost 5 wickets for 101 I thought Sri Lanka's innings would stop before 170. But in the end Sri Lanka team collected 230 runs after losing 8 wickets in 50 overs. 230 runs was a big enough target on this pitch. Because according to the pitch statistics it was much more difficult to score 230+ in the second innings on this pitch and win.

Indian captain Rohit Sharma can bat well but we don't see responsible batting from other batsmen in Indian squad. Especially Shubman Gill managed to collect only 16 runs from 34 balls. Washington Sundar collects only 5 runs. If one more batsman like Rohit had batted responsibly, and was able to collect 50+ then India could have won this match. Although India did not lose the match, the match was a draw. This is not a good result for India.

With Sri Lanka's 230, no one expected them to compete with India in this match but that perception started to change towards the end of India's innings. Sri Lanka managed to score 230 runs with 8 wickets while India lost all their wickets within 230 runs. It's a really incredible match. Although we often see draws in T20 matches, in ODI cricket, such a scenario as happened in the first ODI match between India and Sri Lanka does not happen very often. Rohit Sharma did well in the match but after his dismissal no one else could stand up. I think this situation is due to being overconfident of the Indian batsmen.

It's supposed to be meant in sarcastic way not really serious. Surya Kumar Yadav and Rinku bowled because the ball was turning too much so captain decided to go out of the box and luckily won the match too but will be do that against SA, ENG or Mighty Aussies definitely NO.

This match is getting interesting, since Indian middle order struggling too and now they should worry about Gill as opener for ODI now the unfortunate thing is they don't even have backup opener in the 15 men squad.
