Pakistan won the toss and opted to bat first Afghanistan in with 4 spinners, 40 overs of spin probably as they include Noor Ahmad. This could go either way. Afghanistan might miss Farooqi if Pakistan batsmen settled , they could even punish the spin. Pakistan brings in Shadab Khan in place of Muhammad Nawaz. Pakistan Current score is 54 runs without loss of any wicket in 9 Overs. Imam ul haq and Abdullah Shaffiq is playing well good partnership of 50 plus runs. Abdullah Shafiq is playing at 37 runs in 36 balls and Imam ul haq is playing at 16 runs in 19 balls. Abdullah Shafiq hit 2 sixs during the first powerplay for Pakistan after 1,169 balls in ODIs Abdullah Shafique is outstanding batter of Pakistan. Pakistan will look to set a 300 plus target for Afghanistan.

Sachin Tendulkar is an Indian legend then if any batsman is called the best batsman in cricket then no doubt his name will be Virat Kohli. Babar Azam may be the number one batsman but I will never compare Babar Azam with Virat Kohli even though both are my favorite cricketers. If Virat Kohli decides to win the match in the match where he has to score, he will leave the field after winning the match. In the last 97 innings, Virat Kohli scored 90 plus runs and ensured India's victory in most of the matches. Virat Kohli is one in the world of cricket.

Regrettably in the match against New Zealand he narrowly missed out on a century as he was keen to see his century celebrated but unfortunately got out. The way Virat Kohli is performing, he can become the highest run scorer as well as the highest centurion in this tournament.

I wouldn't say so, it only happened cause Kohli was there. Had he gone out and Surya, Jadeja brought the victory — a proper down order batsmans, then your statement would be correct.

Ofc he did, I don't feel sad tho, he'll complete it soon enough.

I hope Shami will play in all future matches (he's sure to play next next one with this match's performance), was always wondering since start of WC why he wasn't being played. I didn't know his stats before, but during last game they showed and his performance is lit, he's one of top 5 wicket takers in WCs while playing less matches than his contemporaries.

Hardik will likely be back next game, Surya is probably go back to bench again.

Jadeja's bowling was very controlled. And he managed to play an excellent innings of 39 runs off 44 balls. However, Indian players are in perfect rhythm. And I would say India is now the favourite to be the world champion.

Both does great job in most of the matches played by India. Rohit is giving good start to the innings. When there comes good opening partnership, automatically the upcoming players on the squad will perform better. This should not turn to be over confident during the upcoming matches. Such mentality would easily cause the players down the performance and lead to failure in

India's opening pair is playing well. And since India's openers are playing well, India's middle order players are also able to maintain consistency. And we see good performances from almost every batsman. India is getting some extra facilities due to the World Cup being held in their own country. The players are very familiar with each pitch. Due to this their performance has also improved. Qualifying for the semi finals will not be difficult for the team. I think India will qualify for the finals from the top of the points table.

What a massive win by India. When they lost 5 wickets was thinking that India will lose today match but how decently they managed and got victory.
I appreciate the Virat Kohli performance in this match. Exactly he is the only player who leads the team and didn't pressurized himself. Unfortunately he didn't touch the 100 runs. But he done his job already.
You mentioned Muhammad Shami. He is an Excellent bowling and I also appreciate his performance.

The 21 ODI match was won by the Indian team yesterday and it was a very competitive match both are the stronger one but if the Indian team come into the field then it no need to watch the match who will win obviously the indian will win and they have already proven it. In the Asian Cup and now in this World Cup, they are beating everyone. This is because there is no weak player in the team it seems like they are seeking them in every corner of their country and picking the best one. Everyone doing their best in every match bowlers doing the best bowling and giving less score and their batsman chasing a huge target easily. In yesterday's match, Kohli did a good performance, he did not complete his century but it does not mean anything he is just 5 runs away and I considered it a century. And in the New Zealand team, there is no good performance shown by any player other than Daryal who did 127 runs on 130 balls. He is the only one in the team who did a good performance

You are jumping to conclusions way too early. India usually performs well in the group stages, but choke in the semis and finals more often than not due to pressure etc which is why it's silly stating that they will win the cup so easily.

They need to perform well in the critical matches probably against teams like New Zealand, South Africa, Australia etc if they wish to claim the cup.

India and New Zealand were the strongest teams in this tournament. Prior to today's match, the points of both teams were almost the same. But by winning a match today in that point, the Indian team is now on top. New Zealand team had very bad luck today. When the opening wicket goes back to zero runs, the pressure increases. But when the team lost the 2nd wicket as well, it was natural for them to be a bit disappointed. India team did a strong performance today. Specially from the bowling side you have already mentioned Mohammad Sami one of the man who deserve the credit. At first I thought the way the New Zealand team continued the match after losing their two wickets, they would be able to set a target of more than 300 runs, but after the loss of third wicket, the performance went distracted.
Today's match was actually very special because New Zealand and India team are in my opinion the most favorite team in this year's ICC World Cup. Performances of both the teams were outstanding from the start, however today Team India introduced themselves as the most favorite team. Although many here will say that the environment has helped them, albeit mildly, because it is their own home ground.

As I watched today's match I didn't think any team would win from India in this World Cup, they are playing at their best. Whether on the bowling side, they are too good as they restrict a team like New Zealand on these pitches to 273. And when it comes to batting they achieved the target too easily in 48 overs. Virat Kohli played good cricket with 2 sixes and he scored 95 runs. Also, I had seen some blistering sixes from the bat of Rohit Sharma. Although all the Indian team played some classic shots and they achieved the target too easily.

On the other side, New Zealand didn't provide their best as that was 1st on the points table, and from today's match, it goes to 2nd position. We will see in tomorrow's match Pakistan vs Afghanistan who will win.

I can explain why cricinfo predicted him man of the match as the reason is he hit a century and if he didn't hit 100+ runs at that moment, the New Zealand team would clearly lose in a very bad way and New Zealand would have lost with much bad run rate.

It's true that 274 is not a decent defendable target against a strong indian Lineup, but I still believe that NewZeland will give a tough time to them because thier bowler are in form and didn't even miss a single opportunity to departure thier main batters and they does. At early stage of second innings things were completely in favour of indian team but now things are little bit diverting toward NewZeland because now the only hope for them are Kohli if NewZeland manage to dismissed them then I think rest of the player hasn't ability to full fill required target at such pressure situation. Virat Kohli is Out by scored 95 runs deserved to reach the three-figure mark for the fight he put up against New Zealand but miss his well deserved century by 5 runs. Heartbreak for Virat Kohli just 5 runs short for his well-deserved century
