Afghanistan batting line up is very strong and they proved this in t20 world cup. Their batsmen has ability to score faster and their bowlers are also hard hitter. Srilanka should work on their bowling and shouldn't lose second match. I think they took Afghanistan team lightly which worth them. Tomorrow there will be second one day and this is must win for Srilanka but last match prove that winning over Afghanistan is not easy task.

It is how a captain uses his bowlers. I understand he is now playing in a different format. That doesn't mean the level of Captaincy changes.

With this defeat it is more evident the leadership took Afghanistan for granted. There are two more games left and I still believe Srilanka would make a good comeback. If not then the Srilankan board need to think about the leadership before the world cup. This team will not even make it to the semifinals if they play in such a manner.

The match started with high hopes for Sri Lanka being a tough team. They not only won the toss but also performed well with both bat and ball. Charith played exceptionally but winning a match doesn't solely depend on batting; a good bowling performance is also crucial. Nerves of 90-99 runs are very important in a cricketer's life. Many legendary cricketers have been dismissed in the 90 mark many times in their career. Cricket master Sachin Tendulkar has been dismissed almost 14 times after reaching 90 runs. I said it roughly but it could be more. But another thing is that the 90-run (Ibrahim Jardan 98) and (Asalanka 91) dismissals for tomorrow's match are due to nervous tension.

There is no doubt now we have Afghanistan as good team in white-ball format from Bangladesh and Sri Lanka which is good for the game because with this competition will be improved in Asia, and we will have good fight for the better results with many difficulties and not able to play at home but still Afghanistan doing amazing stuff in this format.

Even Asian cricket is not in good shape but still with six teams which have all native players giving their best and entertaining world with their skills and quality now I have feeling Afghanistan's cricket future is bright even uncertainty still on due to many factors, but things are going well-balanced for them many quality batsmen and bowlers are also coming which is another aspect.

Afghanistan players are given preference in IPL over other teams that are at lower side in ranking because Indian government looking to create strong ties with government there. So far Indian government is successful in creating good bilateral relations with new regime there.
Srilanka really has gone down in performance over past couple of years after 4 of there main players announced retirement from crikcet. It was deemed to happen since Srilankan team was relying on them and there is no one to replace them after they quit international crikcet.

It will be difficult to win on this pitch unless score 300 plus. Because in the performance that Afghanistan showed in the first match, they could have easily scored 300 runs ‍as they win first match 4 overs left. Sri Lanka must score better to win. Rashid Khan is not in the Afghanistan team but the Sri Lankan team's condition there definitely points to the negative side of their performance. We will definitely see a better play in the 2nd match of the series as I think the deficits in the 1st match will be recovered in the 2nd match.

I thought this match would be competitive. But in the match, we saw the dominance of Afghanistan players. The way Sri Lanka started their innings. I thought the team would not be able to give a target of 200 runs. But as a result of the responsible batting of Asalanga and Dhananjaya, they gave a good enough target of 269 runs. But their bowling was poor. Apart from Afghan opener Rahamanullah Gurbaz, every batsman's performance was quite good. Ibrahim Zadran played a brilliant innings of 98 runs.
