Anyway, in this game South Africa gave a target of 271 and I was sure at that point, Ireland had no chance whatsoever to win this game and I was right. South African bowlers took continuous wickets and led the team through a win.

Accidents happen in short form cricket which is not so common in ODI cricket. Despite a T20 win against South Africa, it will be difficult to expect the same in the ODIs. South Africa's strength in ODI cricket was seen when South Africa beat Ireland by 139 runs. 2nd ODI match is also more likely for South Africa to win. Lizaad Williams and Lungi Ngidi are in excellent form and if they can pull it off well Ireland won't have to bowl too many overs to collapse. South African will win the 2nd match but if they lose to Ireland it will be a different situation for them. I expect South Africa to win the next match as well.

Why blame the batsmen when their bowlers did a horrible job? They had South Africa in deep trouble. When Wiaan Mulder got out, Proteas were struggling at 212/7. Ideally the Irish bowlers could have bundled out the South Africans for 220-230. But the Irish bowlers lost the momentum, and in the end South Africa reached a total of 271/9. And in return, they lost Paul Stirling in the first order. By then the outcome of the match was never in doubt. They have two more matches remaining in this series. I hope that they will win at least one of them.

If Ireland opening batsmen could have batted better they could have put up a stronger defense but Andrew Balbirnie was out for just 20 runs off 28 balls and Paul Stirling was out for just 2 runs. In the second match, Stirling scored 52 runs off just 31 balls which was remarkable as not many players can maintain their consistent performances in every match. None of the Irish batsmen had a good performance in the third T20 and among them Dockrell top scored with 21 which put a lot of pressure on a team. The middle order batsmen have to pick up when the top order batsmen fail but they have not been able to do so as a team.
The next T20 match will be played tomorrow at Sheikh Zayed Stadium and hopefully Ireland will win the fourth match to equalize. However, the South African team will want to stay ahead of the series. So we have to wait for tomorrow.

South Africa has actually been able to recover pretty well from the position that they were in at the start of the match. They were 39/3 which is a very bad situation for any club to be in. and it was especially bad because they were playing against Ireland. South Africa on paper is far better compared to Ireland. This is a match between the team that was able to get past the semi-finals of the World Cup vs the team which is barely in the top 10. But the thing is this kind of performance gives me hope that the performance from Ireland is going to be better in the future.

Anyway, South Africa was able to get to a total of 271/9 and it is definitely a very respectable total. Thanks to the fourth wicket partnership between Ryan and Tristan. Now I think that Ireland has actually lost the chance of getting South Africa out cheaply and now they will have to pay for it. Because this match is going to be very hard for Ireland to win now.

South Africa managed to set a big target in the first ODI match. Many of the South African batsmen scored long in their combined efforts to set a target of 271 runs. But nobody in the Ireland team could play like that. Due to which the team ended their innings for just 132 runs and South Africa won the match by a huge margin. South Africa started their match with a series draw in T20 cricket. South Africa have won only one match in the 3-match ODI series and still have chances to win the series against Ireland. Hope the Ireland team will be able to score a good in the next match. By the effort of Rickelton 91 and Tristan Stubbs 79 South Africa was able to win this match very easily.
