There was the unofficial ODI played between Zimbabwe Emerging team and South African emerging team that was won by South Africa. Yesterday this match was played and we saw an excellent win by the South African Emerging team.
The way South Africa’s batsmen performed, made 237 in the loss of just three wickets while 73 balls (more than 10 overs were still remain) but they chased the target very easily.
The bowlers of the South African team played well but they were not able to defend a high score. That is why I think in the next match, the South African team will also have to bowl first if they win the toss because if by chance South African batting does not perform in the first innings then they will lose the game, they have not good bowlers.
This match outcome was written on the wall. I did expect Zimbabwe Emerging to perform better. Overall, it was a good performance by the South Africa Emerging team. They easily chased the target thanks to Senokwane's brilliant 89-run inning. SA's top order played beautifully and their opening partnership of over 150 runs turned the game in their favour. I think SA Emerging will easily win the remaining matches of this unofficial ODI series.
The USA won by 14 runs against Canada. The USA gave a target of 305 runs. The USA captain, Monanak Patel scored a brilliant hundred and helped the team to achieve a respectable target. In response, Canada started well with an opening partnership of 51, but after that, their wickets started tumbling and at one stage they were 140/7. An exceptional partnership of 125 runs between Harsh Thaker and Dilon Heyliger provided some hope to the Canadian team, but in the end, it was too much to ask for. Harsh once again showed his class, but could not pull off victory.
