In smaller countries with smaller revenue being generated and greedy people being the ones who run the board it is always proving to be a problem for the players. That is a big reason why players don’t have the same opinion as the people running the cricket boards. Players start thinking about how cricket can be better and the cricket boards are thinking about how they can generate more money. What they don’t realize is that if the team is playing well the money is going to come eventually.
Well.. it looks as if the ICC has also given up on Zimbabwe. For a short period, they actually suspended the cricket board. But then, after some time they again re-instated the membership without any changes to the working structure of the board. I am eagerly looking towards the fund allocation for the next cycle (2024-31). There is no reason why Zimbabwe should receive a higher allocation when compared to Ireland and Afghanistan. And there is no justification to Nepal receiving 2% of the funds that Zimbabwe get.
