The opening from Zimbabwe is good, but the middle order failed to score. If Munyonga and Raza have managed to score little runs. Zimbabwe could've managed to add more 50 runs to the total. Raza is complete disappointment, because scoring 5 runs facing 24 balls in an ODI is poor performance. Anyhow it was good Zimbabwe played well and it'll improve in the coming matches.

Zim are too much relying on Raza and thats a good sign. If Raza perform then Zim performs well and vice versa. Wessly Madhevere scored 72 runs and Tadiwanashe Marumani 45 runs other then that its a dry score card. Its good to see ICC giving Zim ODI series againest test teams, that will help Zim in coming back.

Its first of three match ODI series and chances are Aus will whitewash Zim here. Zim are making a come back to main cricket after sometime, they have a bright past. They must not get disappointed with such loss rather try to bat full 50 overs and score as many runs as possible, this will boost there confidence for long term success.

First of all, I am not 100% sure whether South Africa will be able to win the two remaining matches against Netherlands. And the remaining 6 matches will be played in India and Australia. Getting 3 wins doesn't look very easy. Anyway, as of now Sri Lanka has the maximum chances, in case they can get 3 wins from their 6 matches. And it is quite possible because their remaining matches are against Afghanistan and New Zealand. If they could get 2 wins against Afghanistan and one against NZ, then they're through.

Only time will tell which team will qualify but after watching Afghanistan win against Srilanka I am sure it would not be easy for Srilanka anymore.

After todays win by Afghanistan over srilanka no one can say that Afghanistan is a weak team, they are as good as anyother ODI team. i am sure the way they are going very soon they will get a test status. Last team to get test status was Bangladesh in 2000, since then no new team has got test status.

I agree with you most chances South Africa will be last team with few chances for Sri Lanka as in last few matches they are not performing good and this is going to hurt their cause badly West Indies is already out Ireland is also not capable of beating South Africa, so we will have some challenge between these two teams where South Africa is well favorite with their quality and performance level.

After this Asia Cup and T-20 World Cup Sri Lanka is going to New Zealand which is surely going to be tough for them and South Africa is having eight matches which are giving them good advantage most chances they can win easily four or five matches which are enough for them to qualify into World Cup without any qualification.

SA performance mostly depends on players like de Kock and Rabada. When they are not available for some reason like playing IPL then there is no way SA can win any match.
The shorter the format the more unpredictable it is. Take example of Afghanistan for instance, they are poor in Test and ODI but quite competitive in T20I. Bangladesh is not good in any format these days.

They scored 333 runs in the first ODI against England, the same team lost all wickets for just 83 runs in the second match. South Africa team is strong but their performance is not stable.

There will be a total of ten teams in the 2023 ODI World Cup right. The top 7 teams are confirmed to play the World Cup and one among the four mentioned from West Indies, Ireland, Sri Lanka and South Africa will be missing out the competition if they fail to qualify.
