Australia vs Sri lanka

Australia has given a target of 292 runs today. Since the Australian bowlers are experienced, I thought they would win easily. But the Sri Lankan batsmen are batting very well. Sri Lanka managed to score 162 runs in 28 overs. Sri Lanka lost just one wicket. Sri Lanka needs 130 runs in 22 overs. If the Australian bowlers are not able to pick up wickets quickly, then the chances of Sri Lanka winning this match are high.
Right now Sri Lanka is in complete command of this match and going to win a historic series against mighty Australia which did a good score of 292 in fifty overs but an amazing partnership between Pathum Nissanka and Kusal Mendis is giving them a driving seat to win 146 runs in just 25 overs are enough for them with nine wickets remaining and they need 100 more runs in 17 overs which is not difficult on papers until know.

To win, Sri Lanka still needs to collect 6.9 runs per over. Sri Lanka needs 69 runs in 10 overs. Since Pathum Nissanka and Dhananjaya de Silva are both very experienced batsmen at the crease. And they are also in good form, so it will not be difficult to collect only 69 runs in the last 10 overs. It would be a shame for Australia to lose this series. Because the performance of this Sri Lankan team was erratic and the number of experienced players in the squad was low.

Australia surely missing their star spinner Adam Zampa who can give them a good breakthrough at the right times here right now Matthew Kuhnemann fails to give this opportunity. Before the start of this series mostly expected Australia will whitewash this struggling Sri Lankan side but after losing the first few matches they fightback and did an amazing job in ODI which is going going to give a big boost for them in future.

The match between the Netherlands and England may be played in 41 overs due to rain. Scott Edwards made 78 off 72 balls. All the other players could not run that much. England need 236 runs in 41 overs. I don't think England will have to play more than 30 overs.

Third ODI is in progress between Australia and Srilanka, so far Australia are in good position as they have scored 115 runs in 24 overs. Finch is looking good as he is not out on 60 runs. Srilanka performance in ODI is much better then how they played T20 series. If Srilanka win today's game it will be a big relief for them but they way Aussies are batting its doesn't look feasible.
The news from Amstelveen is that Netherlands have won the toss and elected to bat first (they probably don't want England to make a total of close to 500 batting first). But the sad news is that as a result of rain interruption, the match is reduced to 41-overs per side. Tim Pringle is making his debut for the Netherlands today. Big day for him. He is the son of former New Zealand test bowler Chris Pringle and qualifies to play for the Dutch because he was born in Hague. Teja Nidamanuru is also included in the playing XI for today's match.

The Netherlands collected 102 runs in 22 overs, but they lost 4 wickets. They lost 3 wickets to collect 36 runs. I thought since the game will be played in 41 overs, the Netherlands will probably give a target of 240-250 runs. Because in the first match, the batsmen of the Netherlands batted well enough. However, now the Netherlands will probably provide a target of 180-200 runs. And England will win the match in 25 overs.

Third ODI is between Australia and Srilanka is happening, but Pat Cummins and Steven Smith not into the XI. Today Sri Lanka might dominate the game and take the lead in the series. Lankan bowling did their job so far, four wickets already down and run rate very typical.
Till now Sri Lanka is showing their dominance and after the last match, i am not going to place a bet in this match as you never know how Sri Lanka will perform as they have become so unpredictable. One day they fail to defend even 300 runs and then the next day they are able to defend a modest total even though rain affected the match and hence i wont be surprised if Sri Lanka win this match as well.

England will play the second ODI against the Netherlands after 30 minutes. Like the first ODI, will we see a huge run target again?
I think England will still collect more than 380 at least today. Amstelveen's pitch is helpful in batting, it is possible to collect a lot of runs on such a pitch. Also the bowling lineup of the Netherlands is very weak. So I would not be surprised to see any new record in today's match. However, if New Zealand wins the toss, they will undoubtedly decide to bat. In no way will they give England a chance to bat first.
Today Netherlands are feeling good as we have no match until now just because of the wet outfield after first disappointed first ODI they don't feel good to face this butchery side which has no mercy for them in terms of game or neighborhood. Agree here if the Netherlands wins the toss surely they will go for batting first because it's a much better and safe chance for them if they want to avoid having their name in record books.

Here in Colombo, we have the third and final ODI between Sri Lanka and Australia after winning the toss Australia decided to bat first and right now after the end of the 33rd over they are 151/4 with finch just out after having a good half-century and now Head and Carey at the crease for having some decent target on board for the win this match and series.

England V Netherlands

An ODI match between England and the Netherlands is being held now at Amstelveen. After winning the toss, the Netherlands decided to bowl. And England lost the wicket of Jason Roy by just 1 run. But now England is in a good position. England scored 59 runs in 9 overs. And my guess is that England will have set a target of over 330 today if they don't lose wickets very quickly.
Missed this game as I was not aware about it. Netherlands are a weak team when compared with England. A huge score against a weak side is possible but not like 498 runs. Jos butler was scored 162 runs in just 70 balls. I would have loved to see this man bat.

You are right. The Netherlands team was weak. And we all knew the match would be one-sided. But no one thought we would see such batting of England players. England scored 174 runs in the first 25 overs. But in the last 25 overs, they collected 324 runs. England has collected about 13 runs in each over. I was not ready to watch such devastating batting.
However, the batsmen of the Netherlands have batted well enough. They also managed to score 266 runs against England's experienced bowlers. This is certainly admirable.
I saw the highlights later on and fell very pity for the Netherland side. They were looking helpless and we're not able to understand what was going on. They need to work a lot on bowling or should find new bowling talent. To an extent I felt English batters were slaughtering those bowlers.

I think it is simple. England is the better team and they have dominated the match. Netherlands team did not have any chance against mighty England in this match. They have absolutely given the Netherlands a beating, Netherlands did not have any way to make a comeback. The target of almost 500 runs was never going to be achieved by the Netherlands, and I don't think it is over for Netherland because they are going to get some beating in the next few matches as well  Lips sealed.

Almost none of the regular Dutch bowlers were available for the match, as they are busy with county duty in England. Apart from Logan van Beek, the Dutch attack was comprised of youngsters such as Bas de Leede, Aryan Dutt and Philippe Boissevain, who hardly had any experience at international level. They were not that bad with the bat, partly due to the fact that their batting lineup was comprised of experienced guys such as Max O'Dowd, Tom Cooper and Scott Edwards. Anyway, the ICC will be overjoyed. Now they have the excuse for not including associate nations in competitions.

An extraordinary performance from English batsmen against minor Netherland and they kill them at their home with their bats surely it's never been acceptable in gentlemen game but the mother of cricket is doing things like this is surely condemnable at once stage I was feeling that this punishment is political rather than cricket because Butler, Malan and Salt all play like butchers rather than like batsmen I am still feeling bad for these minor bowlers those have this punishment and they are still waiting for some more in next few matches.

A record-breaking score of 498 is surely amazing and now England is the second country who achieve this record that their three batsmen achieve three figures in an ODI inning after South Africa has done this twice against West Indies and India.

I think this record set by England will last a long time. Only England has scored more than 450 runs in the history of ODI cricket. England has done it twice. Moreover, the first three records in the record of highest runs belong to England. It is very difficult to collect about 10 runs in each over. I don't think anyone will be able to break this record in the future.

This match will raise eye brows regarding whether associate countries like Netherlands or Ireland are allowed to play bilateral series or not. England team is not at there best these days and still they score 498 runs. Imagine what will happen if such country play against Australia or Pakistan in ODI.

Netherlands is a part of the World Cup Super League, and that is the reason why this series went ahead. They played credibly against West Indies and South Africa recently, but got completely destroyed by the Poms. IMO, it is a good idea to allow teams like Netherlands to play against test nations, that are not a part of the pig-4. But I am not sure whether they can compete against the pig-4, especially in situations where a majority of their key players are unavailable for team selection. The ICC has now cancelled the Super League, else I would have suggested splitting the League to two.

What is the point in scoring approx. 250 runs after conceding almost double that much? Cricket in Netherlands (as well as that in neighboring Danmark) is dying. Clubs are closing down, and the domestic tournaments are now being dominated by players from South Asia. A recent estimate claimed that only 30% of the domestic players are natives. This is a drastic change when compared to the situation they had ten years back. I don't understand what happened to cricket in that country, when their neighbors such as Ireland and Scotland managed to thrive.

The ICC should host more series for the Netherlands, Ireland, Zimbabwe, UAE and Oman. The quality of these teams is almost the same. Let them become more experienced by performing against each other. Then let's organize a series against teams like Bangladesh or Afghanistan. Then we do not have to enjoy such a one-sided match.

I think if anyone says that the Netherlands has done well in any department of this match, it doesn't make any sense. After England scored almost 500 runs they are obviously in the safe zone against a team like the Netherlands and they're obviously going to take things relatively easy. I think that is the only reason why the Netherlands was able to score more than 250. Otherwise, you would have had a much worse performance from them in the batting department as well. This match was obviously going to be one-sided but I did not think it would be that one-sided, to be honest. Ireland is working really hard to have its place in the cricket world and I absolutely respect that.
