West Indies have been able to give a huge target of 305 runs. Opener Shai Hope's performance was very good today. He has scored 127 runs. Brooks also scored 70 and Powell 32 runs. Haris Rouf has taken 4 wickets today, but he has given 77 runs in 10 overs. Although the target is very large. However, I hope Pakistan can win. Pakistan has experienced batsmen like Fakhar Zaman and Babar Azam.

West Indies vs Pakistan, three match ODI series will take place in Multan stadium.

In the first ODI West Indies won the toss the choose to bat first in Multan.  Pakistan here clearly favorite to win the ODI series, best of luck Pakistan and also congrats Muhammad Haris for the debut. Looking forward to see Pakistan bowling, Shaheen Afridi as of now get a wickets.

I think the West Indies are playing decently. They lost one wicket and scored 71 runs. 15 overs have been bowled. They are playing carefully and that's why the run rate is low right now. I think if there have wickets in hand there will be able to accelerate later in the innings.

But, Pakistan should be the winners of this match because they obviously are the better team and they will also play better compared to West Indies.

I agree slow but steady cricket is being played by WI and now they have scored 163 runs for the loss of 2 wickets and nearly 31 overs have been bowled. Also I think that they can easily score 300+ runs and if they manage to do that then they’ll be able to give a tough fight to Pakistan, but in the end I too believe that Pakistan is yet the favourite to win this match.
WI, 305/8
Yes, Solid knocks by Hope and a few decent blows towards the end guaranteed West Indies go beyond 300. Very nicely done WI, extremely earnest batting at the top order. Pakistan should try not to play dots ball and play more shot to win this one. Pakistan chased highest ever score against Aussies recently, so we can trust they'll handily chase this down. I'm waiting to see some nice hits from Pakistani batters.

West Indies lost the first wicket by just 9 runs. Kyle Mayers was out for just 3 runs. Mayers is a very important player in the West Indies team. At the end of 10 overs, West Indies collected only 41 runs. Shai Hope scored 19 runs off 26 balls. From Hope I am expecting a big innings today. If Hope is able to stay at the crease then West Indies will be able to collect big runs today.

Strange that you people have time to follow the matches between the weak teams like Namibia or Hong Kong. There was a time when no one even cared to know who won these matches but now I see people discussing extensively about them. Does these means that cricket is gaining more popularity and soon we will see these small teams giving tough competition to the big cricket playing nations?

Namibia is ranked 15th as per the latest ICC rankings. So they are no minnows. If you compare the same for other sports, we have Colombia at #15 as per the FIFA rankings and Japan at #15 as per the FIH rankings. These are very strong and popular teams in these respective sports. So why should we restrict cricket to half a dozen teams? And Namibia took part in the 2003 ODI world cup, and recently they managed to enter the super-12 stage in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup of 2021. Hong Kong is on a downward spiral since quite sometime.

@virasog, A few people watching a match which is absolutely not important doesn't mean that cricket is gaining popularity. But I hope that these teams will be able to perform better and Soon enough give competition to the bigger teams in cricket. Obviously, that is going to take time.

I really don't like how ICC treats the teams that are not in the top 10. Achieving the 15th rank is not easy at all and this should be considered an achievement. But if we think about a neutral cricket fan we can surely say that he is not going to go to Google and look up which rank is Namibia right now. They will be more interested in the top 10 teams which play cricket regularly. I hope they will be able to perform well and that way ICC will have to give them matches against the top 10 teams.

Weak teams also need a bit of appreciation that they are playing and they need to be motivated and admired.
However - today WZ team has gone to Pakistan -they have landed at Multan - and they will be playing with Pakistan. The fans are very much excited - I have also got the pass and I will be enjoying the match in stadium.

Did anyone watched the match between Namibia and Hong Kong yesterday (live stream on Fancode)? I found it quite entertaining. Namibia made 332/5 batting first and they put up 141 runs in the last 14 overs. Johannes Jonathan Smit made 62 from 39 balls and while bowling he picked up two important wickets. Hong Kong continues their downward spiral, and things have remained like that for them ever since Mark Chapman left for New Zealand. That said, I don't have any sympathy for them. After all these years, they haven't included a native player in the final XI. Such a team deserves to lose.

I didn't watch the match live. But I saw the highlights. Namibia's batting surprised me a lot. They scored 332 runs in 50 overs. I know Hong Kong air bowlers are not experienced. Yet it was beyond my expectation that the Namibian batsmen would bat so well. Especially as you said, in the last 14 overs they have collected more than 10 runs per over. Although it was not an official match. But if Namibia can continue with such performances, their players will become more experienced. And maybe in the future, we will see better performance from them.

Namibia did really well and they put up a very good score. and they did very well to defend the score also. They already had a very good advantage because of scoring such a high score in the first innings so the defending was a little easier for them. Hong Kong was under a lot of pressure from the start of the run chase and it was quite evident because they lost all the 10 wickets before they could play out the whole 50 overs. They tried to do well in the run chase but they didn't get even close. In the end a very easy win for Namibia of 67 runs.

Anyone following Afghanistan and Zimbabwe ODI series, today Afghanistan won the second ODI and now leading the series 2-0. The performance of Zimbabwe is getting down day by day. They are once a very good ODI team and now its losing to side like Afghanistan. In second ODI, Zimbabwe scored 228 runs batting first which was very much chased by Afghanistan in 44th  over.
Both the ODI won by Afghanistan. As it is a three ODI series, Afghanistan have already won the series. Afghanistan is getting stronger with every match. In this match Afghanistan have managed to reach the target of 226 runs losing just 2 wickets and is a good performance. The next series of Afghanistan will be more interesting, because Ireland also seems to be in good form.

Shouldn't this kind of rule apply to the countries which buy the players?
It applies but those players have not played any international matches and hence allowed to play without any restrictions. If countries like UAE or similar countries wanted to buy someone who played International matches, the same rule is applicable for them as well.

But the thing is if someone plays only one or two matches and gets dropped I don't think there should be a restriction for 4 years from playing for another international team. That obviously destroys a lot of careers. Already we don't have enough teams playing cricket in the world and these type of things happens regularly like cooling a player from another country to play for another and players getting restricted and not being able to play cricket. I think it is not good at all for cricket.

Let's not focus much on this match. When you win so many matches, losing a single match is not a big deal. We have won the series and that is more important for us. Smiley

Congraulations to the Team Srilanka on winning this match and also for visiting Pakistan for this series.
Loosing and winning are part of the game and tonight it was Sri Lanka's day and only two players scored the bulk of runs for them, Chamari Athapaththu their captain scored a century and they managed to score 260 runs and i expected Pakistan to challenge the score considering how well they played but Sri Lanka was able to pick wickets at the right time.

Pakistan women's cricket team, after winning the T20 series with the Srilankans has managed to win the One Day International series also. They have won the two one-day matches and the third and final ODI will be played tomorrow in Karachi. If Pakistan wins this match (which I am sure they will), then it will be a washout in the ODI and T20 Series. What a significant achievement by the Pakistan women's cricket team after their disappointing performance in the world cup.
I just learned from espncricinfo that Pakistan lost the last one day match, however, they have still won the series by 2 - 1.  Your wish of a complete whitewash didn't fulfill but I am sure this series will bring a big change to the women's cricket team and now they will feel confident to compete with the rest of the world.

I did not imagine that Pakistan would lose so badly in the last match by continuing their good performance in the entire series. Sri Lanka batted first and set a target of 261 runs. The Sri Lankan batsmen have batted well. Especially the performances of Chamari Athapaththu and Harshitha Madavi are very commendable. Pakistan lost all their wickets for only 167 runs. Sri Lanka won by 93 runs.

Srilanka concluded there tour on winning note. This is there first victory in T20 and ODI played here in Pakistan. This victory proves that Srilanka has the capability to play good cricket. Once the current recession is over we will see some positive development in Srilanka women.
